It was so nice to hear of your positive mindset about yourself. To be proud of how strong you are and all you've had to accomplish through your journey. And from the videos you've posted , you are still going strong and doing quite well. We all have our different types of life's roller-coasters that can challenge are strength and mindset as we go through it. And it is not always easy to see or find a positive side to focus on. @livingwithgraceinjapan Hello Grace 👋🏽 I haven't been able to respond to you since the past few days because I had fallen so sick. I was pretty confined to bed rest for the past few days and couldn't go to work. Seems to have been a virus that's going around. I'm still resting at home for the next few days , but I'm feeling much better. I wasn't able to respond to your last message about the sliding doors because I was dealing with such headaches and high fevers. My heart goes out to you, Grace, because that had to have been such a terrifying experience for you to have that sliding door get stuck just as you're coming out of the shower and to not be able to get your husband's attention until after some time had past , only to have to put yourself in such scary, terrifying and vulnerable position having to come out of the bathroom window. I'm so glad that you weren't really hurt Grace , 😔and I do hope that you have been able to get the sliding door fixed since that scary incident. I'm so sorry that it took me some time to respond back to you, and I hope that you and your family are doing well ❤️

Hi Grace thanks for the video it's nice to see that you are trying to make the most of life despite everyday limitations and difficulties. A lesson to us all is to remember that there are things that we just can't do anything about and accept that we can't do anything about them, difficult as that is. Put on clothes that make you feel better, do your makeup and your hair its important for your own self-esteem. Best wishes from England 🏴.
Thank you, Peter. Learning new things and doing these ordinary things we enjoy are the hardest when we're not in good health. Thank you for keeping this channel in your list. The pleasure is mine. Small happiness I tend to ignore when I felt like I was in the peak of life is my biggest regret now. Glad to see your comment again. Take care.
Hello Grace! 🙂 I am so proud of you …I was worried about you but you got the key caregiving lesson and that was to care for yourself ❤ You have taught me and reminded me of many things as well and that, I am thankful to you for. Yesterday I had to go in my back house and I was able to look at clothes people bought me and I never used. So now I’m going to start using them and look over other things I have there as well. You look so nice in all of your outfits and I love how you do your makeup and hair. I will be doing my hair as well and also a little makeup …that is also because of Grace 😊 I have to shop for some easy to use items and will ask my daughter to help me choose what she thinks matches my skin tone. I also journaled entries from long ago …not a daily journal but I time it when I would visit one of my doctors. I always include what was going on in my life at that time as well and like you, I always worried about people and things…you are right because even if we worry, that doesn’t solve the problem. I realize that I cannot tell God to wait till I resolve it and that some things are just not for me to handle on my own. Lesson within a lesson…so when I look at myself in the mirror I will smile and say “thank you God for talking with Grace “ and do my best …gambate’ my friend and thank you for always sharing a nice cup of tea or coffee with me ❤*I waited to watch this vlog after my heavy chores were done and I could sit with you 😊Have a good weekend! Dear Francine, Thank you, as always, for your lovely comment. I have been doing these therapeutic habits (kind of weird changing clothes after clothes and make a pose in front of the mirror). Thank you is for admiring what I do and what I share on this channel. These are all real and hoping I could share more of those unseen events. Holding a camera is not easy especially if your companion(my husband) can't see well with poor dexterity because of illness. But I enjoy doing these and that helps me a lot on this journey of caregiving. I wish I could see you in your outfits that you have been keeping unused. Have a wonderful weekend in Hawaii. We spent a few days vacation at your Mom's hometown (Okinawa) a few months ago and i enjoyed it so much but Hawaii is too far for us to go..I wish we can.
@@livingwithgraceinjapan I think Okinawa is probably safer and cheaper than Hawaii. In Hawaii we have multi cultural groups living here but my concern is cost of living, crime and lack of housing for so many people. I used to get upset at how my husband would fortify our home with so much security like cameras and gates but I find it is actually necessary now. I hope to one day travel to Japan and so I’m working on my walking strength and overall health. So taking care of myself is also going to be needed 🙂
Thank you Grace for your latest video. Having visited Japan more than 30 times the last 25 years , I have noticed that my very good friends in Osaka for example , are not part of a community, although they have lived close to there neighbours for many years. In the North of England for example , there are many close communities. Here in the South , not quite the same but nevertheless, many families have good relationships with there close friends. I realised many years ago , that as much as I loved my many visits to Japan, as an ‘ Introvert ‘ I couldn’t cope with the social loneliness, I know it’s difficult to make friends as a foreigner. I was hoping to visit ‘ Osaka’ once more for a short visit to see my friends one last time , but as I mentioned before , I’m a carer for my Japanese wife., so it’s unlikely to happen , also it’s a 27 hour journey now to Osaka from my home ( 12-14 hours flight ) from London, I’m 80 years old soon, it’s all too much. I’ve learned much about life from your videos. Thank you. Ian. I wish yourself & your husband everything that you wish for.
Hello, Ian. Yes. It's a beautiful country and good people. I just noticed though that this city where we moved in 6 months ago is more diversed than the previous place. There are a lot of foreigners here working and helping small businesses. My neighbors are welcoming people, too. The loneliness I am felling here is the same with the loneliness that Japanese themselves are feeling. The difference is when we find a solution. Japanese people are very reserved. Filipinos are more open. So when a Japanese feels isolation, it'll hard for them to open up. Whereas, Filipino, myself, I know I have to do something about my isolation so I work hard for it. Hope to see you when you come again to Japan. I understand and I admire you for taking care of your Japanese disabled wife. Take care of yourself.
