I am a disabled Navy veteran who served 16.7 years in the military and just turned 56, a month ago… I feel like I’m trying to get my life back too. I took care of both of my elderly parents, till they passed and even with this, I feel there’s still more for me to do. My eldest sister was born in 1965, and at times we both feel “too old” but we have to remember we still have so much to offer. Your experience, wisdom, how you made it through life and so much more. You are an inspiration to the rest of us out here! Don’t let the younger generation tell you otherwise. I pray you will see yourself as a bright light, too. Many hugs and prayers from Florida.🌹

Hello, Tine. I appreciate you sharing us your short but felt the depth of your story. When I started this channel, I knew that it was meant for viewers with my similar state of mind. I have so much to share because I've been through a lot... :-) You, yourself and your sister who was '65 born are my motivation to my journey. Thank you so much!!

Hello Grace, I’m an old French woman and we live on opposite sides
of the world . I agree with you : making our brain work every day is very important , learning new things is necessary for mental health . I like cooking but our recipes are vastly different with the
same ingredients . Have a good day 😊

Hi Grace thanks for the video, you will not get old soon you will get older gracefully. There is no doubt that things are difficult for you and your husband and my wife has no sight so we just do the best we can despite the restrictions as you do. I too was born in 1965 and as my birthday approaches I just try to enjoy the simple things in life. Look after yourselves and best wishes from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.

Where does your unconditional love for your husband come from? The drive, love, and a little resignation of Filipino women are what give you energy. Wisdom and a positive attitude make you beautiful. Self-reflection and kindness are the secrets to your youth.

Grace, I don’t understand why you consider yourself old and forgotten at 65.
Here in the U.S. 65 isn’t considered old at all. At that age they have just retired and are active enough to go to the gym, they go traveling, take hikes, have fun. Your circumstances hold you back but you’re not old. Don’t dwell on it so much or you’ll beat yourself down.
    Just a suggestion.

Grace, is there a place in your community where you can leave your husband for 5 hours to be taken care of so that you have some time to do things for yourself?
You sound very isolated. Are there any other Filipino women in your town or gaijin Women that you could strike up a friendship with?
Surely there must be an ikebana class somewhere around you. Just suggestions.

@@gabriellegibbons9236 , I appreciate your advices. Thank you so much, Gabrielle. There are two days in a week for my husband when he goes to an institution for the elderlies ( he is only 62 years old though ) where he will be bathe, feed and do exercises- a place called Day Service. We are supported. I look somehow isolated, true, but socially and physically, I am very much connected to this new place already with my neighbors.
