    Oh Grace!
    I really enjoyed watching this video that shared much historical insights on the city , both pass and current. What beautiful , historical , architectural features of the buildings that still echoes times past.
    Living here in Florida (in the U.S), has a much higher cost of expenses compared to your total cost in Japan that you've shared in the video. It's less stressful when all expenses are paid and you are able to still keep something towards savings.
    I think you've done well in your renovation process of the new house to comfortably make it your own. I'm sure it wasn't easy making the transition from one place to another, but you've seemed to make work out well for yourself and your husband. ❤

      Dear Lady Jo,
      Thank you, as always, for watching. Florida is obviously an expensive place to compare with our place. I've never been there but I read about your place with great weather and where famous people chooses to live. You may laugh at me if I tell you that one of the famous people I knew living there is the former husband of Isabel Preysler (a Filipina-Spanish origin) - the singer Julio Iglesia. This is a proof that I'm indeed an older woman. LOL.
      I love camera myself. I collect cameras and filming is the 2nd. But I learned more because of UA-cam. I'll film more of beautiful historical places in Japan for my dear viewers like yourself, LadyJoenell. (I'll call you, Lady Joenell from now as it is appropriate your personality.)

      Your so kind Grace, thank you very much for your kind respon.
      Wow! what an exciting bit of celebrity information to hear that you actually knew this beautiful lady once married to Julio Ingesias. He has been one of the singers from that era whom I've always admired the soothing and mello sounding voice of. So you're not old Grace, we ar just individuals that appreciate that beautiful aera of music. 😄
      Yes , the cost of living is quite high here in Florida Grace. Hearing how much cheaper it is to live in Japan makes me wish I new some of the Japanese language to visit and possibly relocate 😄
      I'm looking forward to watching your next video soon Grace ❤️🎞😊👋🏽

    I really love areas that opt to keep the older traditional buildings and houses, instead of tearing them down to build modern structures. Older places have so much character and charm to them. So much fascinating history is lost these days when modernization takes over. BTW, I love all the plants at your house! Your place looks wonderful!😊🫶

    • @livingwithgraceinjapan
      @livingwithgraceinjapan  Місяць тому

      I totally agree. A neighbor told me that this place did not approve of connecting the local train station with bullet trains as older residents don't prefer too much urbanization and worried that these old historical sites might be demolished. There is a Board of Tourism and residents helping one another to promote and preserve the place. I'm amazed by their unity, I observed them during the festival. Thank you, Howard. I'm glad you're here today.

    I am sure you will be able to stay anywhere. You are capable and good at cleaning, organising and maintenance.
    I am also sure you can take a short trip somewhere with your husband. Make it just to a single place, get a nice room in a hotel that caters to people with disabilities.
    Maybe you can research where disabled people have spent a short holiday and how they coped.
    Then you can plan a day out, walking around or even taking a tram or boat.
    Disabled people do travel. Just plan and try it.

    The “after” pictures show how much work you’ve put into your home; it’s really lovely!!
    Here in Canada, my phone/internet bills each month are much higher than yours. There is very little competition/choice in my province when it comes to choosing a service provider, so we cannot shop around for better prices. We are also heading into a very expensive time of year for electricity because it’s going to be very cold for the next several months (there’s about 15cm of snow on the ground now).

    Hello Grace, Thanks for the video, it 's hard to compare, as you included your pension, it would have been better , on my opinion, if you just put the expenses of the month all included, food too , and you had put the medical care for your husband that for example everybody don't have , you see .. Then we can see, what you have left at the end of the month. Electricity is more expensive here but in rural France and water too may be because of taxes , but here in rural France, most people used chimney so use wood, cheapest, or fuel or gas as principal heating . i live alone one person and my renting is 400 euros a month my house is big for 1 person . Also i guess your husband have a pension too, even what i understand may be you don't want to tell us, it 's difficult to compare, but just put all the expenses and what is left at the end of month without telling your husband and your pension then we can make a better comparison, anyway Thank you Grace, you are a very courageous woman anyway, take good care of you Dear, Love Sophie ♥

    • @livingwithgraceinjapan
      @livingwithgraceinjapan  Місяць тому +1

      Dear Sophie, that pension amount is my contribution for the National Pension called Kokumin in Japan. I pay that amount monthly in order to receive my National Pension when I reach the age of 65 years old. I'm not receiving pension yet.
      Chimney does exists in France, nice! I only see that on movies. Yes, my husband is receiving his pension earlier as he is disabled. It should be 65 years old in Japan, he's 63. Government in Japan is very considerate. He's receiving an amount which is enough, and it's because I budget and spend wisely, more than the two of us. I save for our senior years. We're living comfortably, still, I want to put emphasis on frugal living. I enjoy the process of budgeting but I'm not stingy. LOL.
      Thanks, Sophie, for dropping by today. Take care.
