Vacuuming your Above Ground Intex Pool with the Hayward Skimmer and how to backwash your pool.
In this video, we will show you how easy it is to hook up an Intex vacuum hose with a standard vacuum head to your Hayward Skimmer. It is super easy to keep your pool clean with very minimal effort and time needed to get the job done fast.
In addition, we will show you the proper steps to backwash your above-ground pool after you vacuum.
We have links at the bottom of this description for what we are using in this video. You can always use different brands and lengths of pool vacuum hoses as long as they fit the Hayward vacuum adapter part. Also, you can purchase different styles of vacuum heads to vacuum around the rounded edges.
The Intex plunger valve is a handy part of connecting the backwash hose.
Also, check out our link for the Skimmer Socks they are helpful for drawing in even finer pieces of debris into the skimmer that can sometimes get through your skimmer basket.

      I don't usually have the chlorinater running when I'm adding chemicals. I don't usually add shock directly to the skimmer. I usually add it around the pool, trying to spread it out evenly and if needed use your brush to dissolve any leftover product.

      Look for salt that is 99.4% pure or better. Just make certain it doesn't have any rust inhibitor or additives like this one amzn.to/3Xl7mm0 Just dump your salt into the pool. Spread it around a bit with a brush so there aren't any large piles, and leave your pump running for 24 hours after adding salt. Make sure your chlorinator is turned off while you are adding salt and for the next 24 hours.

    After you add the salt for the first time, you mentioned to let the pump run for 24 hours before you hook up the salt water chlorinator system. Do you set the sand pump on filter or recirculate for that 24 hour period?

      On the inside of the pool, two strainer baskets that came with the pool package And two of these. amzn.to/3ViyhfK. Is all you need. You don't have to have the strainer baskets but it is a good cover If you think you may have someone that wants to pull on them, or if you just want them to look nicer by having a cover over them. They stay put and have been working for a long, long time

      If your pool was balanced properly prior to adding the salt and you have added the correct amount of salt and ran your pump for twenty four hours and your chlorinator it's still not making chlorine, then there could be a potential problem with your chlorinator. Were you able to figure this out?

    • @MoverandShaker
      @MoverandShaker 29 днів тому

      We really only do that in a situation where if it rains a lot or we have to backwash and there would be a distinct reason for salt to be depleted otherwise we don't really check it on a regular basis.

      How do you add your salt. You're pump runs on fp for twenty four hours. Then you need to use boost for whatever the table says for your pool Size for us it's 32 hrs After that, you are home free and really. Only have to run it a few hours a day with the pump.

      At the beginning of each season, you have to buy a couple more bags of salt. Then it's good to get a sample of your water. So you can take it to the pool store at that time. They might try to give you a product or 2 as a recommendation, and they will give you a print out of what your pool needs. Once you follow the step by step instructions, you're pretty much set for the rest of the season. And it is so nice. There was one season where we had excessive rain, so we had to buy another bag of salt.

      Well, we haven't been in our pool yet. Normally we would have already been in the pool by 1 June. There are various solar heaters out on the market that only raise the temperature between seven and ten degrees. They all have fifty fifty reviews. You just have to be patient and wait. They do make shirts usually in. These sporting goods stores that are for cold water and winds And they make them for all sizes. That might help you for the first week. Or so
