Love your videos!! And your yard and pool set up is beautiful and amazing!!
Thank you so much!
Hello thank you for your video. We purchased this same pool this summer. I am researching how to winterize our pool. I hope you do another winterizing video as I have a couple of questions about your last video for winterizing. 1. Did you remove your ladder when you winterized? 2. How did you put the cover on the deck side of the pool? We have a deck very similar and not enough room to pull the cover over the side of pool. You said you laid bricks on the cover on the deck side? Did that work?. I was wondering if we left the ladder in the pool could you use the ladder as an anchor for cover?. We filled our ladder with sand and not sure how heavy it is to remove. I will subscribe and ring bell to get your video on winterizing. Your yard looks great!! We too have a work in progress as I want the yard to look nice and the pool to be part of the landscape not an eyesore like I have seen some pools look. We live in the Portland, Oregon area and the weather has been very dry and hot this summer. We were in the pool everyday!! Even when the water was 72 degrees!!
We have a Bestway pool 12 x 22 x 48” and the pump/sand filter that came with it is cheap and sand filter already has cracks in it! First season using!! So just bought a new Intex sand filter and pump! Looking at all the parts and reading manuals! Want to put a skimmer on which we have from an older Intex pool we used to have. Love the video on that! Hopefully I have the extra adapters to use should I need to change.. and we’ll need to get a vacuum and hoses! We are in Central California and it’s dry and dusty is our issue! Not too many bees … more little spiders uggg little nats … thank you for all the information … great help!! ❤️
Thank you ao much. Please watch any of our pool videos for more info including 4 different vacuum style videos. We actually have a 5th vacuum video that isn't even uploaded yet but it simplifies vacuuming with the Hayward skimmer. Thanks for watching!
Hi, so speaking of whirlpool, I suggest to turn your discharge jet eyeball like pointing left and towards the bottom. So the eyeball will shoot water out and it’ll do it’s own whirlpool and I do that at my pool and it really circulates the dirt and it sends everything in the middle
Interesting. We will try. Unfortunately, pool is no where near ready to open yet.
Nice job 👍👌 w the UMBRELLAS!!!!
Thank you😗🙃😃
hopewell va here.. thank you guys for helping me learn how to set up my new pool coming soon! I am not sure exactly how to level the land, so will probably need to hire someone to level the land.. then I think we can do the rest! :)
Leveling the Land is in our very first pool video, you can rent the SOD CUTTER machine at Home Depot by the hour. For our 18' x 52" pool we used about 12-15 bags of play sand to help with leveling but take a look at our video. Our landscaping has drastically changed but the pool is in the same place. ua-cam.com/video/hny3GCrtric/v-deo.html
Hi ! I love watching your videos! You guys are so so detailed and I love it. Keep it up. Do you guys have a solar cover for the pool ? My wife and I are looking get a pool. Thank you
Thanks for the compliments. We did have one for a short while. We were basically trying to get in our pool earlier than June and stay in it longer than Sept. We did make a video about it. ua-cam.com/video/XEgY-brZ-oY/v-deo.html
I need help. When I plug the other hole that isn’t hooked up to the skimmer. But it decreases the water that goes into the pools filter skimmer. And then the pump sounds weird.
We are always had better suction with the outlet being plugged. I am not sure what type of pump you're running but we run a 16" Intex Pump and always make sure the skimmer is level to the water so that your pump does not go air bound because that can damage the pump. What kind of pump are you running.
Thank you by watching your video we figured out that our pump isn't strong enough to hold our blue skimmer basket in the water.
It could also need adjusting to be level with the water sometimes it needs to come up or down as you either lower water or add water
Hi... great video, thank for some good tips... One question re the splitter valve you have to run the fountain (around 4.56min), is this an intex part and if so do you have the part number by any chance? Thanks
This file came with the waterfall. We haven't unboxed ours yet for the season to check for a part number But the best suggestion I can give you is to go to the intex website look up the waterfall waterfall download the manual and see if the part number is listed in the manual
Order the mounts for a boat dock latter
Nice looking pool set up. Where did get the umbrellas? & did you have to paint the PVC pipe
Thank you very much we have so many pool videos I honestly couldn't tell you which one but it might be the landscaping updates video that shows the color of the PVC pipe spray paint and umbrellas were purchased at the home store they were $69 but we had coupons. Those umbrellas are very well made though and will definitely last you this will definitely last you 3 to 4 years if not more we take ours down at the end of the Pole season
Thank you for taking the time to bring us these helpful videos. I live alone and take care of everything in my home and so, rely on these videos lol. Anyway, two questions - I have been trying for several years to get my pool level. Do you have any tips on what I can do for next year as far a ground preparation, etc? And I am wondering how best to cover the pool for winter? That too has been an issue for me. I have an Intex above ground about the size of yours. The previous covers never make it through the winter. Someone said to keep the water filled in the pool so the cover may stay on better. I am nervous about the water freezing and then unfreezing which could damage the pool. I live in CT. Thank so much for any suggestions.
If you were starting from scratch for ground preparation you could do what we did in our very first video ua-cam.com/video/hny3GCrtric/v-deo.html I am not sure how you would level your pool at this stage with water in it unless you were going to dismantle the pool for the winter. Just for your reference on this subject...We have a pool closing video that we did last year here: ua-cam.com/video/kvh7KATxi58/v-deo.html and we are doing one for this year this weekend. It is IMPERATIVE you invest in a high quality cover about $120 and a winter pillow like ours. The pillow. You drain a little water like in the video, detach your equipment, attach the four corners of the winter pillow to your pool, cover it, and for your state, I would wrap it up with pool (saran wrap) like in our video to keep the wind from blowing under it.
Yes so you should leave the water inside because with the pillow, if the ice forms, it will push into the middle where the pillow is and not on the sides. What I do is a drain a pool just an inch below inlets and outlets, put a pillow inside that’s not too inflated, it should be really soft, and than I cover the pool. So I’m not sure how thick ice you get there but if you just remove the hoses to and from the pump and leave the fittings attached to the pool, even if it freezes it won’t crack anything cuz there are no hoses and place ice can form in and crack it
Have you ever tried pool filter balls in your sand filter? I am trying it for the first time this year because i kept getting sand in my pool. I have the same sand filter and saltwater setup as you
No, we haven't. I've never heard of them. The sand is so small we barely notice it. What would be willing to check it out for sure. Thanks for letting us know us. No, we will look it up.
Hello. Do you remember when setting your pool up, did the top of the liner kind of bulge/stick out some on the inside near the top rails. Mine is doing that and it seems really strange. I’ve had 2 other pools before but never set them up, so I’m not very familiar with this stage. Thank you!!
No I don't recall seeing that at all. Perhaps you should take a couple pictures and contact INTEX customer service, You would want to make sure you don't have a defective liner. Then again, it could be nothing at all
@@MoverandShaker thank you I didn’t know that was an option. I sent a couple of pictures to them then called and talked to someone and he said it is in fact normal.
Do you have the vacuum hooked into the side that is sucking or the side that is pushing water back into the pool?
The intex pool cleaner gets hooked up to the inlet on the farthest left. The Deluxe maintenance vacuum kit gets hooked where the skimmer is. You have have to remove it.
Hello! We recently got the same pool as you and your videos have been very helpful. However, as we were finishing setup today I realized I made an error - I think. I did not put in the strainer connectors and grids on the inside of the pool before it was filled. Now, they are kind of difficult to get in with water in the pool. Is it possible? It is okay to do this way now? Did we mess up too badly? We haven't turned the filter on yet.
I apologize for the delay. I sure you have turned the pump on by now. If you are talking about the strainer basket then Yes, I don't see why not if you haven't turned the pump on yet. I am not sure what you mean by the Grids though. Good luck with everything! if you have any trouble with your pool chemistry take a sample of your water to a Leslies Pool store or your local store, tell them how many gallons you have, and they will let you know what yo u lacking and if anything and also very specific instructions on how and when to put it in the pool step by step. If even you are moving to salt water you always have to have the pool balanced first. After that it is smooth sailing!
I save the bugs too! hahaha
Hello. I just discovered your videos when I was researching saltwater systems. We have a new pool ordered that happens to be identical to yours. I have heard a lot about saltwater systems and am excited to try it with my new pool! I do have a question about the sand pump though. I had one before but was using chemicals so I was constantly fighting algae, barely staying ahead of it. It was exhausting and expensive. How often do you have to back flush the pump with this system and what does the salt do to the grass when you do this? My husband is concerned about this bc he works hard to keep our grass healthy and green.
Backwash every couple of weeks. The saltwater effect on the grass is very minor if any, although we do use a long 50 ft hose now and control where we want that water to flow to.
Hello! Thanks for the helpful videos. We just setup our pool with the Intex saltwater system. The “working” light constantly flashes and does not go solid. Can you confirm if this is normal? It doesn’t seem like it’s chlorinating the pool after salt was added. Thanks!
I tried to find this answer for you and I couldn't. I would suggest you call Intex and speak to a Tech about the system. I can tell you if it's not working properly they will send you a new one. We had our waterfall stop working and the have a warranty period and will replace items that you purchased. You just have to answer a bunch of questions. Get your purchase receipt with you when it's time if you go that route.
Truly appreciate that! I plan on calling them first thing tomorrow morning! I will follow up and provide an update.
I noticed you have a bypass value for your return and water fall feature. Where did you get ? I'm looking for one myself. Thanks in advance
The bypass valve you are referring to with the handle comes with the waterfall. We never purchased it separately. Here is the link where you can purchase it:

@@MoverandShaker thank you very much.☕
Where did you find the connector valve for the water fall
The valve that you see connected to the intex waterfall comes with the waterfall.
So obviously the pool is 18ft but does that include the poles? What size are the slates? How far are the slates out past the pool?
17ft 4 inches on the inside . 17ft 9 inches outside measurements. Slates 12 x 12 and they are centimers from the edge of the pool and have been for 3 summers. Each slate is approx 26 inches from one to the next and in the beginning we leveled each one in pairs all the way around.
what kind of extension cord are you using for the pool?
We're not using an extension cord we paid an electrician a $150 to pop a hole through our brickwall and connect the GFCI outlet outlet directly to our house five feet from the pool so it's multi use indoor outdoor and we use a pigtail extension to run both items off of 1 prong I'm prong that goes into the outlet into the outlet hopefully I'm making sense
WOO HOO😎
What ladder is that you guys have ?
This is it amzn.to/4cU1wNJ
Also, we did a video on it.
Hello! I have the same skimmer you have, and it has stopped working I tried everything you did on the video, but still nothing! I was wondering is there something else I could try!
Is there a crack in your hose or a blockage under the small gray strainer basket? Backwash pump? checked the troubleshooting in your manusl?
I have a question how many hours a day do you leave the filter going or should I leave it on continuously? Also the pump how many hours a day should I leave it on?
@@MoverandShaker thank you my husband got it working? You are very helpful
That information is in your saltwater system manual depending on your specific pool size and gallon capacity. Everyone's is a different operating time. Ours is running 6hrs pump 4 hrs on chlorinator pump us supposed to be running before the chlorintaor always and it always goes off last too.
@@MoverandShaker thank you someone told us to leave the pump on continuously and the filter on for a couple of hours
What size is your pool?
18 x 52
Have you opened the pool up yet?
No. Unfortunately it's 56 here.
