Tropical Storm ISAIAH | Our Short Story - Wires, Fire, Yard and the Pool

We are going to share our short story related to the most recent landfall of Tropical Storm ISAIAH in the Hampton Roads, VA area. We had significant winds, tree limbs down, over 500,00 power outages in the area and in our house, a small but frightening, unexpected electrical incident in our home due to a severed line wire. This wire connects from the utility pole to the house and it had snapped in half. Our house has 240 amps and was only running on 60amps unbeknownst to us when we started having an electrical scare out of nowhere. Thanks to the Chesapeake Fire Department they came quickly and advised me on what the problem was and checked the attic with their thermal imaging device to ensure there was no internal fires in the attic or walls. They did a walk around the exterior and interior of the home and reassured me what the root cause of the problem was.
At first, I thought it was only one area in my house that had an issue but there were several other areas affected by this power surge as we found out much later.
Outside we had a 8hrs of yardwork to do the same day and the pool was a storm riddened mess that took about 2 hours to clean up. Storms can really give you a wake up call and a work out.
We had to throw away 3 damaged surge protectors, but all of our stuff was saved by the surge protectors except the Keurig machine!
