For the koopalings, I would guess that the pairings are not signifiers of special connections between them on a personal level, but rather on a functional level, being sorted by their archetypes. Think about it, Iggy and Ludwig are the brains (being the tech-wizard and the tactician respectively), Roy and Morton are the brawns, while Lemmy and Larry are, well, distractions. The pairings are usually not seen in other contexts, Roy and Morton rarely interact, Iggy and Ludwig don’t do much with each other either and Larry and Lemmy, despite their similar names, are only circumstantially together in bowsers inside story and MAYBE NSMB2 if you stretch it. Ludwig and Larry on the other hand are seen together a lot more, with them being a duo in paper jam and Ludwig trusting Larry to Lead in his absence in Bowser juniors journey. Same with Roy and Wendy, who have a very love-hate relationship in every recent game, with Wendy being the one person Roy is afraid of. Iggy, Lemmy and Morton on the other hand are commonly the crazy trio, as seen in paper jam, where they do a lot of insane stuff in the background.

Mouser is in Yoshi's games! Except to be fair, instead of being a boss, mousers are instead average enemies in the Yoshi games. But I'm pretty sure they're meant to be the same species as Mouser the boss. They even have masks over their eyes just like Mouser.

Personally, I like it when they get a little more creative than just having every board be the star moving and everyone having to chase after the star. That's why I love boards like Bowser's Warped Orbit and Mario's Rainbow castle. They aren't like most boards where the optimal strategy is almost always to just go for the star and only buy mushrooms, triple dice, and golden pipes. Yes, they're more luck-based than most of the others, but to me, that's not a bad thing. I prefer games where the better player doesn't win every time.

I think the Porcupo’s resemblance to Sonic is intentional, as Nintendo and Sega were kind of rivals at the time. A similar roast can be found in Donkey Kong Country, where Sonic’s shoes are seen next to a trash can labeled “No-Hopers”

Which is funny, because the Shy Guys' walking behaviors remind me more of Koopa Troopas, with one color turning around at edges and walking the other way, and the other color falling off, and, if they land on something, walking in the direction of the player character. Also, in the SNES remake of SMB2 on Super Mario All-Stars, the king of World 2 was transformed into a Hoopstar. While there are no enemy Ninjis in Paper Mario, one visits Merlon at one point, and several can be seen in Starborn Valley. Link's Awakening is no surprise, given how many enemies in that game come from the Mario series, as well as others. Like the Hoopstar and Albatoss, the Cobrat is another enemy that a king in SMB3 was turned into, in this case, the king of World 1.

I love Super Mario Bros 2. Super underrated game. Besides Mario Wonder, it's my favourite main series game. It also introduced Birdo, who is one of my favourite Mario characters.

Pretty good video with an interesting subject. My only issue is one I see a handful of UA-camrs do; a 15 minute video shouldn't loop the same background music for the whole thing, especially when the loop is less than a minute long. I really think you should've changed the music at the beginning of each generation (N64, GameCube, Wii, the bad ones post-8, etc.) to mark a shift in tone and time passing or at least just every 3-5 minutes. Yes, it means you need to find more music for each video, but Nintendo's music library is so huge, you can throw a stone and hit three different good songs.

A video I hope would be discussed was the other human characters Camelot made for the Mario Golf and Tennis series during the N64/GBC to the GCN/GBA era. There were characters that a few backstories and some of them grew up as well!
