- The Mario series' Mushrooms may be some of the most iconic items in all of gaming and yet, I'm willing to bet you're not even aware of a good amount of the many Mushrooms the series has seen. Look no further, I'm here to list them all for your enjoyment! From Paper Mario to the 3D Mario games and even a lot of Mario Kart, these are all the Mushrooms in the Mario series ever!

Frankly doesn’t value Dried Mushrooms. He values the archeological context of that particular dried mushroom in the treasure chest.
forgot the super shroom from paper mario which is essentially a healing mushroom with a similar color to a mini mushroom but is just a standard healing item.
Otherwise very comprehensive list. I'm actually proud someone else was documenting this. The amount of designs for mushrooms is crazy, but looking into things deeply the poison mushroom has the most drastic changes out of any mushroom ever.
Thank you for not including the super ACORN, even though it looks like a MUSHROOM but it ISN'T! You don't know how many people I've seen who catalogues the super ACORN as a MUSHROOM!!!

Now that you’ve done Mushrooms, you gotta do flowers! Flowers were definitely one of my favorite things in Mario games because of how many there are and it feels like every single one of them does something differenr

8:50 - _Paper Mario_ has the Mushroom (5 HP), Super Mushroom (10 HP), and Ultra Mushroom (50 HP).
_Super Mario RPG_ has the Mushroom (30 HP), Mid Mushroom (80 HP), and Max Mushroom (255 HP).
The Reverse Mushroom in _Mario Party 3_ forces the target player to walk backward until they reach an intersection. At that point, they can go any direction but the one they came from. It's surprisingly powerful!

you missed the invincibility shroom from superstar saga (and i dont mean the one that actually turns out to be poisonous) you can see it during the bowser's minions portion of the superstar saga remake, looks like a regular mushroom but it features a rainbow colored cap
also i feel like the honey, maple, jelly variants of the shrooms could maybe be considered since they are technically different items

i would argue that rotten mushrooms are distinxt from poison ones in that they move autonomously: not relying on the stage layout to change directions. you also missed the paper mario super mushroom

Besides the ones others already said you forgot in M&L Bowser's inside story: the blorb shroom, 1-up mushroom, 1-up deluxe mushroom, super mushroom, ultra mushroom
The giant mushroom in NSMB DS is also not the first giant mushroom to be introduced. There was also one in Super Mario 64 and SM64 DS which was red with white specks like the super mushroom in any other game but with the effect of a giant mushroom, so I would argue that it should be mentioned separately.
Good catch on the Vacuum Mushroom though! Most people forget about that one!
Most of these are actually the same mushrooms as the ones mentioned in the video, but I should have mentioned them, I agree with that!
Pretty sure there's not a Giant Mushroom in SM64. Maybe in the DS version 🤷♂️

You forgot about the Invincishroom from Super Star Saga, the Invisibility Shroom from Mario Kart GP, and the Mushrooms from the Swiggler fight in PIT. ..Along with the other Shroob Mushroom

We do see the effects of the Inhale Mushroom one other time and that is in the next game in the series: Mario & Luigi Dream Team right before the final boss fight. I will not explain it in case some people want to avoid spoilers for a rather old game
You forgot the big 1-up and big shiny 1-up from paper mario sticker star. They both just heal over time to different degrees

The Super Mushroom from Paper Mario is considered the same thing as the red counterpart of the same name. I definitely should have mentioned it though!
@@PiantapediaYT Yeah, I thought of that too, but, since you classified the Mario Kart and Super Mario mushrooms as different mushroom species, it would make sense to also cover the PM Super Mushroom and the normal Super Mushroom separately. Plus, it used to be called Super Shroom, which means it was technically different, plus the pattern "Mushroom, Super Mushroom, Ultra Mushroom" is engraved to every Paper Mario fan's brain

I want to make a Correction on the Hatsune Miku skin as it's NOT Hatsune Miku but it's Yu Ayasaki a Voice Actress from a Japanese Only Game called Daigasso! Band Bros. P a Japanese only 3DS game, But I don't blame you for mistaking her as Hatsune Miku on her design.
1:26: I think it's generally fair to argue that the Mega Mushroom as we know it was introduced in Mario Party 3 in the Mush Pit minigame, or as the item proper in Mario Party 4.
Both the Drill Mushroom and the Bubble Mario transformation (Though originally being a Bubble Flower rather than a Mushroom) originate from "Fantendo", as does the "Talking Flower", though they started out as the power-up for the fan-created Tuba transformation, which I guess they didn't like enough to steal as-is.

There is actually also the real invincibility shroom in Bowser's Minions sidestory of the SS Remake. It's shown in a cutscene, after the Toad gives you the Quest to go in the cave to retrieve it.

I love this video, seeing items or enemy variants is always a treat. But, and please take this as criticism, ya gotta try doing a better job matching up the visuals in the video with what you're saying. There's many items where you explain their effects, but show irrelevant gameplay that doesn't show the items at all. It'd make it a lot less jarring

“Dummy” items in games are placeholders for unused effects. I’m sure plenty of other unused items exist in the M&L series.
