I've seen some comments asking why I didn't include the Princess Peach "series", so I figured I'd clarify: I don't think Showtime and Super Princess Peach have much in common beyond their main character and I don't really consider them both part of a 'Princess Peach' series. I don't think Nintendo does either, so I left them out. They're both separate one offs imo
I never realized how many spin-offs the Mario franchise has had. Great video! Would love to see you rank or do a retrospective the old Mario cartoon series
Mario's Early Years?? Mario Teaches Typing?? Mario Picross series. Mario Artist series too. Also, Mario Sports series (like literally called Mario Sports; Mario Sports Mix and Mario Sports Superstars). Also, if they count, the Super Mario Advance series.
Everyone saying peach has two games, but Toad actually has two games as well. His first game (or games) was wario’s woods on both the NES and SNES. There’s a lot of differences between the versions to where you could get away with calling them separate games as well. Despite the title of the game, Toad is actually the main character and wario is the main villain.
Honestly the only thing that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe fumbles is the roster, I still think that Baby Rosalina, Pink Gold Peach, Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach and Peachette are by far the worst additions to this day, the Mario franchise has so many Characters and Nintendo decided to add the most obnoxious, non sensical and stupid choices of the whole series. They are the only reason since the original 8 on WiiU why I decided to buy CTR Nitro-Fueled instead of 8 Deluxe.
Unfortunate you didn't enjoy fortune street. It's one of my playgroup's favourites and we play it often. I would easily rank it a lot higher than some of the more boring minigame stuff like the Olympics series.
For me they are cool games but they get really tiring to play. The bros attacks are not fun to perform. Most fights by the end of the games feel like a slog.
Personally I hate super paper Mario. Its story is great and I applaud its creativity but its gameplay is awful imo. It has to be the most unfun Mario game I have ever played. Even sticker stars is better than it and that’s saying something. I couldn’t even finish it. I got halfway through the game and I just couldn’t do it anymore
I haven’t played the game myself, so I understand that I can’t make a full judgment on it, but every time I see gameplay of it, I can’t disagree that it looks completely vapid and soul draining. Combining the slow pace of an rpg with the simplicity of a platformer is a horrendous concept. The first two games in the series were slower paced than the Mario platformer games, but they had fun and rich battle mechanics, enjoyable plots and unique exploration and settings. Sure the 2d platformer games like the new super series are more simple and watered down, but at least they have fast paced and tightly controlling platforming in concise and perfectly sized levels. You can’t have it both ways, with slow pacing and a (supposedly) grand and deep plot, but then remove all nuance from the battling system and replace it with “jump on the enemy or breathe fire on them very slowly until they lose the will to live”. From what I can tell, it seems to create a boring and unenjoyable experience despite its revered story, which even that seems overrated to me. Rant over, I hate SPM even though I’ve ve never played it.
So happy I'm not the only one who think that's way. I will never understand why people defend Super Paper Mario and calling it the best Paper Mario game ever when it has so many problems. Sure. The story is fantastic, the characters are great and the creativity is there. But when it comes to the most aspect of any video game; the gameplay, it's the most unpolished and poorly designed choice games out of the entire series. Even something like Sticker Star or Color Splash wasn't this bad. I will always defend it's story wise. But I can't defend the gameplay.

That makes sense. Super Princess Peach plays like a traditional 2D Mario game, and Showtime is just kind of its own thing.
I never realized how many spin-offs the Mario franchise has had. Great video!

"Mario is a spinoff of Donkey Kong" what a smart saying.
A Mario land remake would be terrifying 😰

You forgot Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, if you count Captain Toad
@@lpnobusters no I didn’t. That was the other game.
@@callinater6133 ohhh ok! Sorry misunderstood lol!
It a wario game don't matter if he the villain. There a reason why the original donkey_kong game not a mario game.
@@INFERNO95 who said donkey Kong wasn’t a Mario game? 😂
No one but you. If it stars toad as the main character, it’s a toad game. End of story.
21:46 I will never stop defending Color Splash. It's my favorite Mario game of all time. Super is a close second tho.
bro didn't play the ds version of mario & sonic at the 2010 winter olympic games
This is awesome
But Peach has two games right? Shouldn't that count and DK series as well? Other than that cool rankings dude
The two peach games are not the same .
I think you forgot the Mario Teaches Typing games and the Mario's Early Years educational games
I love the Mario spin-offs!

That's Is A Epic VIDEO
Princess peach had like two games tho ? Super princess peach on the DS
The 2 games don't have anything in common except that you play Peach
That doesn't make it a series
@@matleb8491That’s like saying Super Paper Mario isn’t a Paper Mario game since it’s a platformer
@@azimmeme9994 these 2 games still have things in common
The Peach games don't have anything in common except that Peach is the playable character
17:30 Oh for crying out loud. Give it 10 years and you’ll be suddenly praising these games to high heavens.
I always think I'm gonna like dr mario. And I do for a minute but honestly it's kinda hard. It doesn't flow seamlessly like tetras does.
Nice username.

17:42 I had this same problem with Mario and Sonic Olympic Games for Switch. Pretty sure joycons just aren't that good at motion tracking
princess peach showtime is a part of a series… the princess peach series
I'm glad someone else figured it out!!
That not a peach series. The two games are not apart of the same series
The sports games are great, but how the FRICK could you POSSIBLY PUT MARIO AND LUIGI THAT LOW?!
