    I'm curious about boiling the honey in your elderberry syrup. I thought you were supposed to add it afterwards to keep the properties of the honey. Is this incorrect?

    • @herbalistkristen
      @herbalistkristen 4 дні тому

      that is definitely an option! i find that the amount of honey/sugar kinda outweighs any potential benefits from honey at this point. with things like this we always need to decide what is the priority since we are seeking to weave a fine needle. you can absolutely avoid this just make sure to wait until your elderberry liquid cools down to below 104 to protect the invertase enzymes!

    Do you mean you hate black licorice candy type flavor or do you mean licorice root? As far as I know licorice root is pretty mild in flavor. It just has a little sweetness after you swallow it... I just didn't want people to be scared off of using licorice root because it's so good and good for you... And it doesn't taste like the licorice candy that most people hate😄 The first time I had it was in an Aveda store/salon in the mall and they serve their house tea blend which is mint and licorice root... So tasty!

    Hi Kristen, I just found your channel. I have a story to tell. Our dog had a growth on his neck I didn't want to take him to the vet because they seemed to only want to hand out drugs and not find the root cause . My daughter in law did some research and found out about astragalus! We got some in a tincture and within a couple of days the growth was gone and HAS NEVER COME BACK! It has been about 6 years. We do still give it to him maybe 3 times a week. I discovered the wonderful world of herbs and have made many tinctures. Oregano, rosemary, echinacea, elderberry, vitex.
