❤I was blending teas last week and did my scent test on them - if they didn’t smell quite delicious I added an herb that made it more appealing. Basil, mint, rose - scents that lifted the pleasure for a tea. 😊
Thanks Kristen! I’ve gotten used to drinking plain green tea over the years and so find taking the herbal teas haven’t been a big transition for me. I’ve been having a nettle/oatstraw tea and a passionflower/lavender tea each day this week since finding you. One quart each. I feel like I’m noticing some increased energy from it. I plan to continue long term for overall health but may switch up the tea at times.
I 100% am a tincture over tea person, and I cannot stand chamomile to the point I won't even grow it. Pleased to hear this approach isn't the end of the world.
Thanks for sharing very informative and useful content Kristen. Funny you mentioned you don’t like the taste of licorice as that is one of the herbs I don’t like the taste of either. Licorice and stevia are the two herbs I can’t get use to their taste, is more the sweet aftertaste that lingers once I take a sip of any herbal tea that has either Licorice or stevia in it so I stay away from them 😅
its really hit or miss for most of us! it doesn't do it for me which is a shame becuase they are both in SO many commercial tea blends which can be so convenient! some people love them both thought!
Do you mean you hate black licorice candy type flavor or do you mean licorice root? As far as I know licorice root is pretty mild in flavor. It just has a little sweetness after you swallow it... I just didn't want people to be scared off of using licorice root because it's so good and good for you... And it doesn't taste like the licorice candy that most people hate😄 The first time I had it was in an Aveda store/salon in the mall and they serve their house tea blend which is mint and licorice root... So tasty!
THANK YOU!!! Im just starting my herbal Journey and i’m really overwhelmed with how to keep track of which way I should be taking each herb for all the things I want to use them for….. when to use tea/infusion/decoction or tincture. Im so excited to dive into herbalism, im trying to target, depression, stress, metabolism, and allergies! Any tips?
not to toot my own horn but I have a DO few free resources AND a monthly herb school where we meet each month and dive into a new topic! so I might be biased but I would start there!
@@herbalistkristen I appreciate it! I have already been through your “seeds of herbalism” course twice, and absolutely love, listening to your explanations and reasoning through the herbs can’t thank you enough for helping start my journey! Im definitely considering your monthly course!
@@mariafrederes8309 we are just getting started and have a small group to start with as well as a chat area and discussion board so its definitely the best place to ask questions! and in January we are going to kick off the year with really good foundational information and build from there so I am really excited about it
Or add to cocktails! Thanks for the info!

Yes, is the licorice root for me too, unfortunately, I know that it has so many health benefits but I just don’t enjoy that sweet aftertaste 😣
