I started with Yarrow, Plantain, Goldenrod, Stinging Nettle and Peppermint four years ago. My apothecary has filled a room since then, as well. Thank you for what you do

I started with lemon balm, plantain, nettle, marshmallow, elderberry.
I grow these and many other herbs.
It’s good to hear of other medicinal herbs that I could also grow and use 😊

❤ I love that you named new herbs to me. I created a space for herbs and have to start putting tea blends together for the winter, bag them for easy use and package them for presents because it takes SO MUCH TIME to do. 😊

    This video was so informative!
Thank u so much. I’m very passionate about this for the past year or so. But for the past 7 yrs or little more I have been taking less and less meds from the doctors to treat my conditions, even my chronic pain after having back surgery (which sometimes I regret)
My bone pains are bad I’m only 47 and been like this for about 10yrs and that wasn’t what I was expecting my life to be.
In pain all the time, that’s not it.
God is good and He allows me to find more and more of His creations to be able to heal myself more naturally, been able to get many pounds down for the past 4 yrs and keeping it that way. I’m very short so I was 208lbs at some point. Now I’m between 172-175
Anyways. I have quite a bit of crafting material at home and now I’m adding many oils and butters because I was making creams, lotions, cosmetics actually, more for my use and for my daughters, but I came across a video for a pain relief cream and I made it and I was so surprised that it worked that I start giving some to the ladies at church and then all of a sudden ppl were asking for me to sell it to them so I decided to make more and attempted to do so. I’m just very afraid to start again and been neglecting it.
I have no idea why I’m saying all this on your video. I was about to delete all this but I will keep it who knows I might get courage and actually launch this on my website after hehe 😊
Anyways. These herbs that u mentioned I can’t wait to try them.
Can you or do u have a video explaining how to use them? Mmm like maybe so u make a whole mixture of few of them so they are not that many to take at once?
Instead of opening lets say 7 bottles for example, like a combination for sinus relief, headache relief etc
I made some oils for cramps during periods of course for me and my girls and they work so great, I included a carrier oil, infused oil with comfrey, and few essential oils with healing properties and it works so good that we don’t have to actually take the pills. We just rub it in the area even on the back and it numbs the are for few hours and it’s warming too.
Omg I wrote too much!!! 😂😮 ok im done!!!! Thanks for whoever took time to read my ranting!!!

You are so full of knowledge and thank you for your videos. I have been gardening for about 7 years now and just this year i decided to start growing medicinal and culinary herbs but I may have started somewhat backwards because I am growing well over 30 + herbs and I have a basic understanding of what they do but not sure of how to make them into medicinal uses such as salves, tinctures, teas, etc... I just got to excited and love growing plants. haha. I do plan on growing my education of herbalism by taking some courses soon. Again thank you so much for educating us.

Thank you so much for this video! I recently found you - and based off of the last video, I watched, you inspired me to make tinctures from the organic herbs. I currently have in my garden. I made a time, oregano, and lemon balm, tincture! I am starting a new garden and a new house next spring, and will be certain to plant yarrow!!

Great video. I've been building an apothecary for about 4 years. Not much with tinctures but mostly teas. But with your info I'm going to try more with tinctures. Do you have a favorite alcohol? I'm going back into your videos to learn more🥰

Wonderful video! I have horrible allergies and sinus issues that lead to sick migraines. So I have been drinking teas and taking supplements for many years. Started making my own tinctures a few years ago and they work so much better for me. I have made lemon balm tincture, echinacea tincture, and trying my first mixture of echinacea, oregano and nasturtium leaf tincture.
I will definitely be trying the ones you have suggested. Thank you.

      Herb ratios 15:00
      1:5 herb to alcohol (dried)
      1:2 (fresh)
      28 g (1 oz) : 140-150 ml alcohol

  • @thegroundwaterguy
    @thegroundwaterguy 8 днів тому

I may have missed it, but I assume we are talking about 100 proof alcohol in your ratio calculation. Also, the 1:5 ratio (28 grams herb to 150 ml alcohol) really barely wets the herbs if they are a dried herb like nettle, I've had to double the alcohol to cover the herb adequately, so I guess I need to wait the entire 6 weeks to compensate a bit.

    • @herbalistkristen

Ohhhh I have never used it topically on bruising but maybe!!! I would try lightly massaging a yarrow tincture into the skin and getting lots of good lymph and blood flow on the area and then reporting back and letting me know!
