I can fully vouch for nettle tea and tincture. I have/had that really bad react to mosquito bites, I started drinking nettle tea and not only do I now get bitten less frequently but when I do I don't have a huge allergic reaction. I made a nettle tincture and that is also very good used topically to reduce the itch of a bite. Hi Kristen, I just found your channel. I have a story to tell. Our dog had a growth on his neck I didn't want to take him to the vet because they seemed to only want to hand out drugs and not find the root cause . My daughter in law did some research and found out about astragalus! We got some in a tincture and within a couple of days the growth was gone and HAS NEVER COME BACK! It has been about 6 years. We do still give it to him maybe 3 times a week. I discovered the wonderful world of herbs and have made many tinctures. Oregano, rosemary, echinacea, elderberry, vitex. Thank you for your information.

It has been so difficult for me to wrap my head around how something like a tincture works or could even compare to pharmaceuticals but you definitely provided the details that I was looking for in a way that I understand.
i love to hear that! i have a few foundational videos coming up that will also help you understand some of the perspectives that accompany practicing herbalism. In no way are they are powerful or concentrated as pharmaceuticals and often working with herbs also requires making other lifestyle and wellness interventions, but they definitely have some great active compounds that effect the body!
I am so excited to find you!! This is the first video I've watched and I can't say enough about it!
I like that you didn't draw out the conversation with unneeded details and you were very thorough with the info you provided. I would love tincture tutorials. I have just started making tinctures and it can be overwhelming. This is a fantastic place to start!! Thank you so much! I have subscribed!!
I too agree that it was awesome... to say the least. I've been looking for an herbalist. Do you have an online shop?
Thank you, Christina
I would love a tutorial on how you blend your bitters tincture. Definitely need to add that one to my arsenal. Love nettles as a daily infusion. Thanks for the reminders on what to keep on hand ❤
I would like to learn to make my own tinctures. thank you
This is a fantastic overview of these powerful herbs. I have been making my own tinctures for decades and am very impressed with your presentation. Thank you. It was a great reminder of some herbs I have let be in my pantry without use.
From one creator to another, you’re completely right on all this information. So much natural knowledge is literally right in front of us for the finding. And it’s imperative that those of us in the know share knowledge as far and wide and as freely as possible so that we can help all our collective family heal!
Yes, please practice medicine without a license
And get her in trouble. Play foolish games and win foolish prizes
@@jenny-DD licenses are sometimes important and then licenses are also extraordinarily pointless. How many doctors have actually killed people by bad medicine/mail practice, and they went to school for seven years+. All you just did here is create negativity and anger because you have not taken the power into your own hands, and you do not trust others to do the same.
Yes!! How to on tinctures please
These are some of the plants I’m trying to grow on my property. Let’s hope that works. Can’t wait to try making tinctures.

@@herbalistkristen cheers! 🌺
Thanks so much *MR OBALAR* on UA-cam for curing me from Herpes, keep saving lives.😊❤❤…
Yes please, show us how to make it and if dried herbs can be used. Not too sure if you ship to the UK and how costly that will be, so I will probably benefit by a tutorial. Subscribed and all, cannot wait for the next video xxx
hi! shipping outside of the US is super costly. The very very cool thing about the herbs I love the most is that they are pretty much the same herbs that Y'all would be using in the UK and I live in zone 7 so we have a lot of bio-region overlap! many many of these herbs you can grow as well. We are really working with the same materia medica
I love your spirit of sharing! Thank you so much.🙏🏽
I love and appreciate your valued information on natural healing. I would be interested in making a tincture that helps with nerve pain (neuropathy)
ua-cam.com/video/Vxr_x3EJfzg/v-deo.html (fresh st johns wort might be a good option for you, look into it and do your research to start!)
Is there any source of thyroid replacement, herbal or tenture? As i has thyroid cancer seceral years ago. I am on a pill every day HRT. But what could i take in its place should I not have access to my prescription. This scares and worries me. Thanks
Love your style of teaching ❤ Would really appreciate a video on tincture making 🎉
I grow several of my own herbs and started foraging last year. It's amazing what is available to use. Please do the tutorial for us!
Wonderful coming across your new emerging channel…more information in a video than I have seen in some time …great energy and love of what you are creating …best wishes and thanking you for caring enough to share your knowledge…yes please help us learn to create how these are made …stay blessed

thank you so much for these kind words! My mind is blown at the interest in plant medicine and I feel so grateful that I get to share it in this way! Can't wait to do more!
Thanks much and need a tutorial for the vinigar tincture.
Finally a herbalist that explains uses of herbs and properties etc with an easy to understand and retain way. Love your work 😊.
She doesn’t waffle on and bombard you with words. She explains information in a easy to understand straight to point way love it
thank you so much! I love teaching and really want to lay a good foundation for beginners to explore a relationship with plants! Thank you for your feedack.
Nice video. 🤗 very helpful. Thank you for sharing. I would love to see how you make them. I am glad I found your channel. Thank you.!!!!
I just found you! This is my first video to watch.
I will be subscribing!
I love your voice! It's very soothing.
I like the way you present your facts. Quick, to the point, no BS stories about anything! Just information. Love it!
I am interested in learning more about bitters. There are a lot of videos out there about making tinctures, but I've not seen one about bitters!
Looking forward to reviewing more of your content!
Thank you!
Yes do more tutorials, we need alternative medicine given whats going on in the world...
agreed! thank goodness we have emergency medical care when we need it but goodness the gap between medical care and people actually living healthy and happy lives is SOOOO WIDE!
@@herbalistkristen Exactly why we ALL need to learn all we can about herbal Alternatives because you just never know what could happen next, and a lot of sites charge and many ppl I'm sure can't pay BUT THOSE PPL STILL NEED THE INFORMATION...teaching ppl how to survive in bad times shouldn't COST them it leaves them unprepared...I KNOW a great deal about herbal treatments, but I can only teach ppl in person so you have a platform that's needed for so many
@@Damselfly54315 thank you so much for these kind words. I have little areas where I can make some income from this but accessible herbal + wellness education is so important!
Just found your channel. I would love to learn more about making tinctures/elixers.
The picture of echinacea that was shown was purpurea not augustifola. Purpurea is not as strong as augustifola though it is useable. Augustifola is endangered.
A dropper full is about 1/2 tsp..
Hi, your video is real awesome. Just a question on bitters, can a person which had the gallbladder removed, use bitters?
Yes, even more so since you’re unable to store bile. I would also check out the benefits of TUDCA.
The 5 tinctures I use are dual extracted Turkey Tail/Chaga/Reishi mushroom combo,(not a herb I know) Dandelion, Ginger, Turmeric w Black pepper and Echinacea. Thanks for the additional information on other herbs to try.
oh i loveee a good dual extracted mushroom combo. those are some of my favorite mushrooms too!
Would love tutorial on how to make tinctures, new subscriber

I found this video to be very interesting.
So glad I stumbled onto your video! I am new to learning herbs this summer. Have several growing and currently have a lemon balm tincture and a sage tincture steeping. I have echinacea slowly growing but hope to use that too. I would LOVE a video with how tos on these tinctures! I saved some dandelion flowers and dried them but not sure what to do with them yet.
where can you get all of these herbs if you do not have a garden to grow them?
all of these tinctures can be made with dried herbs!
I moved from PA to Florida and never had allergies til I moved here, going to make that nettle tincture!!
Yes please do tincture video!!!
Thank you.
Hello Kristen, I enjoyed your video. I am just starting my journey into medicinal herbs. it seems like every person has a different list of herbs for each ailment. I do want to try some of the tinctures you have mentioned but the first thing I would like to start with is something for headache, migraine and or inflammation.
Any help or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
thank you so much.
Kim
OH YES ME TOO. My friend has "White Matter Brain Disease" the Migraines are so bad she almost commit suicide. PLEASE I been searching for something.
I would love to learn how to make my own tinctures
I would love to make them myself. I have been working I similar tinctures. Did not know of one of them this is great
Oh my goodness, I have just discovered your channel and LOVE this video, thank you so much, am definitely subscribing and will be watching more 😀💕
thank you so much! I am so glad you are here! I am knee deep in updating the apothecary for the holidays and wrapping up some advanced clinical coursework and will get back into new episodes as soon as possible!
Love herbal medicine, to a point. If you have sepsis of bacterial blood infections (bacteremia) please please please go to the emergency room for infusion antibiotics.
omg 100%. I would go further to say the best outcomes come when people have a good relationship with a great primary care doctor AND a foot in lifestyle/herbal interventions. It really can't be either or. It's both AND.
I also would love a tutorial. I've been interested in herbs for years but never moved forward. I think now is the time! Thank you for your information and many blessings to you and yours.

Thank you for this information ❤ you’re very easy to watch and so well spoken, nice cadence wonderful sound quality. Everyone makes it looks easy to record videos and it’s not! Much love 💕
its really not!!! its so much work! I know there is a lot of work to grow so I look forward to getting better and better!
just came across your channel thank you for getting to the points and being so practical
Any of these herbs good for pain❤
I found this video SO helpful! I love the way you really went into each herb and how to use them - such a blessing to find! Thank you 😊
I would love to learn more about building the basics for my apothecary! Your videos are very informative and helpful. Thank you.
that is one of the videos that is in y herbalism 101 series which is steadily coming out AND it will be in the free herb course that re launches next month so this information is on its way! I also have a full time bodywork practice so I need to be patient with how much I am able to accomplish at once, but its on it's way!
I am 70 years old and it took me a long time to understand. Do what you want, as much as you can, then rejoice and start again tomorrow. Just do something
Yes, ma’am I’d love to learn how to make my own!
Thanks for the video. I bought myself some elderberry bushes for the medicinal benefits, it would be a pleasure to see a video on doing your elderberry tincture, I have to types of alcohol, vodka and Everclear (moonshine) I was told the greater the alcohol the better the extraction, what is your opinion on that, this herbal medicine is new to me, but I'm learning everything I can to make my own medicine.
I've searched your channel and website and I can't find your apothecary shop. In fact, when I clicked on that link it said it couldn't be found. 🤷🏼♀️?
we made some website overhauls since last year and can unfortunately no longer sell our tinctures online until we update our commercial kitchen which is a BIG expense that we are not ready for :/
@@herbalistkristen okay 😢
Yes!!!! Please teach us how to make tinctures!!!!! 💕💕💕💕
Please send me a tutorial for your tinctures. You are awesome!

I’ve made quite a few tinctures…just recently used GoldenRod tincture for my head congestion and cold symptoms. Only took 3 doses and symptoms were gone!
I, too, live in Northern Virginia, and the allergies for my family are crazy here... Great information you are giving!
YES! Just subscribed in hopes of seeing a tincture tutorial, soon! I have nettle everywhere on my farm and am about to harvest some young leaves to make a tincture for my family members with allergies.
Have you heard much about olive leaves?
I love how lovage smells like celery. Please tell me how to use lovage. I keep cutting it back so I have so much.

Great info!! Well done presentation too…. Thank you! 🧡🙌🏻☺️
I would love a tutorial on tinctures! Can tinctures be made with dry herbs or does it always have to be fresh? Where do we buy your tinctures please? Thanks, Regina😊
With mushrooms they should be dry. I would think some (plant) herbs could be done fresh. But I only am familiar with shrooms. Reishi, chaga , turkeytail , and lions mane as I forage , use and sell these.
@@timothylongmore7325Most tinctures are made with dry herbs
Good job explaining the herbs and actions!
I would gratefully, WELCOME A Tutorial on making tinctures, please!!
What a great way to naturally support the body’s immune system & health 👍🏽😁
I love nettles! I use them in cooking, teas and fertilizer for the garden.
They sadly really get a bad rep. I do pull them out were I don’t want them in the yard. Hard to walk in shorts and sandals 🤣
But, of course, when I pull them out, I use them!
Would you have a tutorial on bitters, thanks.
Great teaching and informative.
I make tinctures with acv and glycerin.
Wow, I was pleasantly surprised to see I either had all of these tinctures already made or had the leaves blended for teas. Every single one.
I had just posted a need for controlling epilepsy...and it was the next video... thats you! Passion flower. 😊
Thank you!!! Are you familiar with cleavers? Wild marshmallow?
I'd love to see you make a tincture. I love to learn. Thank you for this information ❤😊🙏
I just came across your channel for the first time this evening. I’ve subscribed and I hope you’ll do more videos about herbs and how to make tinctures. I make elderberry juice and keep it in the freezer so I have it on hand any time I’m feeling sick or if I’ve been around someone who is sick. I also take echinacea as a supplement when I’m around people in the winter. I’d also like to learn how to grow and harvest these herbs to make tinctures. Thank you for this informative video!
Thank you. Wonderfully presented information.
Do you make a digestive blend without fennel? That is one herb I can not have.
