I don’t normally Comment on videos, but I wanted to tell you what an excellent job you do at making this very simple and user friendly. Most herbalists over complicate. You did an excellent job, and gained a subscriber because of your simple approach! 😊
Right now I am drinking Mullien tea each morning because of allergies and all the smoke in the air from the Canadian wildfires. I have noticed a disappearance of a chronic cough and phlegm.
I LOVE to hear that! I was just making a note somewhere that you can also add plantain to that blend for a really soothing anti-inflammatory enhancer in the case of smoke inhalation
I have been cold brewing a red raspberry leaf and nettles tea by the half gallon for about a year now. I started it because i was pregnant, i continue it because i am breastfeeding and find it makes my milk more hearty and works better than lactation tea for me. I like to brew it for 24 hours, because i love it strong!
Ive been brewing fresh herbs in mason jars, I'll steep it about 20 minutes and let set in fridge. If it taste to strong I'll just cut with water, a couple lemon slices and a couple sprigs of holy basil
Thank you for sharing I so luv your energy and enthusiasm it is infective and positive! I am an ethical Vegan and love animals and plants and very in tune to mother Earth. I was having dizzy spells, methinks BP I read up on Lime flowers and one day I was cycling and signposted to my park?? a few seconds in and saw Big lime trees and lotsa blossoms!. I picked a bag full did an infusion and today the dizzyness has gone woo woo for herbs luv n light x
I’m so GRATEFUL to have found your channel! Thank you for all the love you’re putting out here❤ I currently have Nettle herb, but have not been using it consistently and NOW I know why it has not worked like I expected 😅 thank you so much!!! Your channel is amazing!
Thank you for this video. I am a baby herbalist and have been the person who makes and drinks tea for that one day thinking that that consumption is all I needed. It makes sense to continue to dose throughout the day. I appreciate your knowledge on the dosage !!
Mullein will also lower blood glucose levels quickly, especially if someone is a type 1 diabetic, even as a type 2 diabetic it's probably a great idea to monitor your glucose just in case you need to treat a low
I'm new to herbs and new to this channel. 15 minutes later and I'm ready to buy your book! I hope you have a book. I use chaga, reishi and lionsmane regularly and sumac lemonaid now and then but herbs are new. I used a chaga and cranberry while foraging for reishi in ninety degree heat and it gives me wings. It really does. I'm almost 64 too. I did smoke some mullien last winter for congestion and heard the blossoms were good for a cough syrup. By the way smoking it did help. And I not a tobacco user as such. Can't wait to make some tea from it as well. Liked and subbed.
wow that is so sweet of you. I do not have the book but maybe one day! chaga is amazing and so is reishi! I am so glad you are having some really valuable experiences in nature and with plants!
@@herbalistkristen You really should. I know there are many herb books out there. I have a few , but I don't have any that have the point of view of a herbalist. I am primarily interested in mushrooms right now but try to add 1 or 2 plants to my education each year as well as new mushrooms. Because of my age lionsmane is my current obsession. I've got some tincture finished that I'm going to start on. I want to do some cognitive tests prior to and as I go to see what happens. Stamets does a Tedtalk about lionsmane , niacine, and microdose of pslosybin which shows much promise. I'm not ready for that yet but it's very interesting.
Thank you so much for all this info. I'll definitely try to incorporate these herbs on a daily basis. I've subscribed to your free course, can't wait to start!
Thanks, this is my first time finding your channel and I'm so pleased to have found you! I'm a long term fan of herbalism, and eventually plan to study it... but until I finish my masters degree I have no time yet for a 3 year degree, which is what's needed in Italy where i live to practice professionally. Recently, as I'm now developing a permaculture garden on our land, I've been planting medicinal herbs like crazy and also it's got me into learning about medicinal and edible weeds. In the spring I drank tea (or juiced) fresh cleavers/goosegrass daily, but stupidly I haven't saved and dried any for the rest of the year. So I will have to source some. For the linden...we have tons of Linden trees around here. Is there a particular time of year when it's best to harvest the leaves to dry as a tea? Would plantain also be included in a list of herbs to take daily? I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, and have been learning about the link between autoimmune diseases and leaky gut, and from what I learned, plantain can be used regularly. And dandelion too, maybe? Thanks!
I will usually heat it up a bit by adding a little more hot water but popping it on the stove or microwave wouldn't be too big of an issue. do what you gotta do to make it pleasurable for you!
i dont think they will have the same menstrual regulation effects but they WILL have beneficial astringent effects and they can be used in the case of diarrhea!
Is Oat straw safe with gluten intolerances/allergies? Also I am assuming this method makes these vitamins and minerals more bio-available? I am loving your content and really look forward to seeing what is coming next.
you shouldn't have a problem at all with oatstraw and any gluten intolerance or allergies! the best thing to do though is to do a little taste test just in case, but in my experience there will be no issue! (no gluten in the oat plant!) AND YES this method definitely makes them more bioavailable! I really notice that especially with nettle, people really feel... goodness more nourished for lack of a better term!
Be careful of cross contamination. Oatstraw is often harvested with other grains or with equipment that is used to harvest grains that have gluten. It is not recommended for people with celiac disease.
Thank you so much for all this info. I have Fall Gold raspberries growing. Would those leaves have the same effect as red raspberry? Aso, have an abundance of wild/wine berries. Would love to put those to use too.
THAT is a great question and I do not know the answer! It might be interesting to do a little self exploration and see what you notice. We call this the "mess around and find out" method in herbalism 😂😂
I have a small boutique online apothecary which you can buy some beginner friendly tinctures and herbs by the ounce and another good option is to check out the bulk herb section at your local health food stores!
Thank you for this great informative video. I've been harvesting my own raspberry leaves and making nourishing infusions with them. Do they also help regulate female reproductive hormones or help with ovarian cysts?
None, go find local things to harvest and dry yourself. Why pay for something that grows wild for free? Avoid harvesting plants from road sides or anywhere with high pollution and you're good to go.
It usually depeneds on the herb, the ailment, and the person but I like to see the needle moving in a positive direction within a week or so of daily use! That doesn't mean that you stop taking it, just that we can see its doing what we want it to do and we proceed from there. If we aren't noticing any change in symptoms or issues within 3-4 weeks, we shift gears!
Yeah I am a hand talker. You can get the show via podcast as well with all the same information (but no visuals) if that is a better learning experience for you! Just look up herbs and ease whereever you get your podcasts!

3. Mullein
4. Linden
5. Oat straw
6. Cleavers
I've been studying and experimenting with herbs this year and immediately started thinking, why not take the most nutritive herbs.
Great video

Would Raspberry Leaf help menopausal women? We too have issues with our uterus. Thank you!🍃

@nancylafferty8362 i would say yes. A great one for menopause though is red clover. Drink the flowers as tea!
Great delivery of information!!❤
Such a great channel, excellent work Kristen thank you.
Again, I agree with your suggestions. I drink three of these almost every day.
which ones! I cycle through them especially with red raspberry, nettle, and oatstraw.
Thank you so much for all this info. I'll definitely try to incorporate these herbs on a daily basis.
I've subscribed to your free course, can't wait to start!
Love the style you are doing these videos, if you need any ideas vinegars, I noticed you didn’t mention them here
Loved this, from your delivery to explanations! 🎉

Thank you !

New sub here, good job !!!Green Blessings !💚
Im so glad I found your channel, Ive taken some good notes, I am currently learning more about herbal use and your page is spot on.
Great video! Would reheating the tea be a problem for the infusion once it has cooled?
I will usually heat it up a bit by adding a little more hot water but popping it on the stove or microwave wouldn't be too big of an issue. do what you gotta do to make it pleasurable for you!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge
thankyou
Thank you for ur help. I really love using herbs. God bless🙏
I’ve had mullein as a tea and it gives me a headache. Wondering is this an allergic reaction or possible detox side effect
Are any of these herbs better prepared without heat? Thank you for this informative and charming video!
this is a really great question and I would add heat to all of them to get their medicinal properties!
You mentioned red raspberry leaf. Can I use black raspberry leaves since I grow them in my garden?
i dont think they will have the same menstrual regulation effects but they WILL have beneficial astringent effects and they can be used in the case of diarrhea!
Thank you Kristen ❤❤❤
I just subbed. Thanks for what you do. Mush love
Can you maybe give me a blend of herbs which include Linden
I love you smile and your explanation isclear and understanable ill try Mullen because of mucus
I have emphasima. I am not on anything yet would mullein help me😊
Totally agree! 💯
Thank you for this wonderful info. Could fresh leaves be used if available or dried is necessary?
yes! the taste is going to be different but my favorite thing to do is mess around and find out what you like and what works best for you!
I always use fresh leaves for teas.Tea taste better when you use fresh leaves.

Awesome ❤🙏
Nettle is also oxalic , isn't that bad for kidneys? How much then for renal support?
Thank you so much for all this info. I have Fall Gold raspberries growing. Would those leaves have the same effect as red raspberry? Aso, have an abundance of wild/wine berries. Would love to put those to use too.

So these are all better with tea's ( apart from nettle for allergies) so I have just made a mullien tincture is this no good ?
Can they be brewed together?
What are some good herbal teas for fibroids?
Blackstrap molasses and apple cider vinegar added to your tea should help with that.
@monicadelarosa7712 Thank You! 😊
Many thanks❤
My 40 year old daughter just had her first baby and is suffering from post partum and is nursing can you suggest something i could offer her
I just watched this great video. I wanted to mention that Seaweed is really high in trace minerals. Look up Korean birthday soup.
Loved your video! Thank you
Hi!
I’m just loving your channel!
This might be a silly question… but do you have any recommendations on where to purchase herbs?
I have a small boutique online apothecary which you can buy some beginner friendly tinctures and herbs by the ounce and another good option is to check out the bulk herb section at your local health food stores!
Thank you for this great informative video. I've been harvesting my own raspberry leaves and making nourishing infusions with them. Do they also help regulate female reproductive hormones or help with ovarian cysts?
What are the best quality brands of herbal teas to buy and where?
Foster Farm Botanicals, Frontier Co Op, Reverie Farm, etc
So you steep them separate 🤔, or can you do you but a tea spoon of eat one, then put the 4 cups of water in and steep.
Interesting video

None, go find local things to harvest and dry yourself. Why pay for something that grows wild for free?
Avoid harvesting plants from road sides or anywhere with high pollution and you're good to go.
Foster Farm Botanicals, Frontier Co Op, Reverie Farm, etc
How much does one have to drink in a tea or tonic until they start seeing or feeling results?
It usually depeneds on the herb, the ailment, and the person but I like to see the needle moving in a positive direction within a week or so of daily use! That doesn't mean that you stop taking it, just that we can see its doing what we want it to do and we proceed from there. Do you have a quality source to buy these herbs?

Does it make a difference if you strain and reheat the tea in the morning?
What companies do you recommend for a supplier for those of us who can’t grow our own?
Foster Farm Botanicals, Frontier Co Op, Reverie Farm, etc
Were do we get these herbs ?
Foster Farm Botanicals, Frontier Co Op, Reverie Farm, etc
When you say Linden do you mean the Linden tree?
i do!
That’s nice but when people begin to tell other people what they “should do” I, for one, find it to be quite offensive.
Herb or erb?
Generally in the states we write, " herb" but when pronouncing it we leave off the " h".
Really good information...but the hands are very distracting
Yeah I am a hand talker. You can get the show via podcast as well with all the same information (but no visuals) if that is a better learning experience for you! Just look up herbs and ease whereever you get your podcasts!
@herbsandease. You respond to this criticism, but the questions from interested viewers?
@kimfroman2023. Be appreciative of the information provided and do further research on your own if you're question didn't get an answer!
Please don't use your hands so much when you're speaking. It is very distracting.
H…. Herbs not Erbs
either pronuciation is correct.
Great video ❤ Thank you ❤️
