I recently listened to/watched Read Choi's skit where Jesus is so frustrated with his followers & sarcastically pointed out that He gave them only 1 mouth but 2 ears, for a reason. I flashed to that part of his skit when you commented on the sad & tired part. Bingo!! Dan was brilliant in this (& most all of his songs, really). I think the main person on this was Neeley. This is going to sound.... bad. But not everyone is as awesome as you 🤣🤣 No, but seriously. In many cultures, a man's role IS stereotypical, which is maybe why the song comes across that way. Here in South Africa, the wonderful marriage and family setup you've described is the exception, rather than the rule. It's very rare, and fathers are by and large missing from the home. And for many, it's not because they're a-holes, but because they're burdened under the stereotypical expectations set for them. (Which also includes the taboos around men expressing emotions) Personally, I enjoyed the version of this song where Dax invited other up-and-coming artists to add their own verses to the song and a bunch of other men (and women!) sang and rapped their own experiences. It's somewhere on his channel. Hey, random note on the side.... I love your shirt, is that a bind rune?

For Jesus Christ Superstar, my recommendation is that you go for the original concept album rather than any of the various cast albums or the film soundtrack. You can find it on UA-cam. Look for the yellow, purple, red, white cover. The concept album is where JCS began. Ian Gillan, the lead singer of Deep Purple, sang Jesus. I got it when it came out in 1970 and wore the grooves off playing it over and over. The later stage productions were great but for me never surpassed just listening to that.

Dan is from Brazil, English is not his first language. He has his band named Fearless. He sang for a minute with orian reign. You are about to go down a rabbit hole that has many songs to enjoy.

"Home back" has the deepest growls and the most beautiful jazzy-lounge vocals, in addition to stunning visuals and deep lyrics.

Dan is incredible

When I first listened to it, I was shocked by his voice. It's engraved! I'm addicted!!!

All was said about him. Now songs that might interest you is, Amazing grace, Oh holy night, Majesty, For all, Handel's Hallelujah, Angels we have heard on high, Adeste Fidelis, Beyond belief, all Christian. Next Music of the night. Phantom of the opera, A million dreams, Never enough, all Broadway. Beauty and the beast, also Beauty and the beast on Minniva's channel, My heart will go on, I'll make a man out of you (Mulan), Kiss from a rose(ft Voilet Orlandi), Lord of the rings, Eye of the tiger, Burning heart, movies. Also fantastic for me is his cover of Nessum Dorma and Fairy tale.

He usually is going to be almost following the guitar. I can't find the interview he did about how the bring all this together in the writing process-but from it, he will start from the drums, then the guitars are laid, and then Will works through writing. If you end up listening to more of the albums you start to pick up on his touches (Austin), but its like watching an the relationship with an orchestra and classical/opera vocalists-they compose their parts initially independently almost and then work them around each other. They do have instrumental an instrumental version of the "Pain Remains" trilogy and album if you prefer. Will also has breakdowns of his voice and how he does the lyrics (once you see his mouth you can see how words are stretched and shaped to then add in his distortion to them-its pretty intruiging, but does take some adjustment so what you are listening for). I think you are one of the more knowledged based reactions that i've seen-it was fun to watch!

I started with old school heavy metal, then graduated to classic modern death metal like Cannibal Corpse, and when I could understand those lyrics, I got into Deathcore through this band and Metalcore through Jinjer and Trivium. You've got a great lovely musical journey ahead of you! And yeah, once you can understand the lyrics, don't listen to Infant Annihilator unless you're prepared because the name matches the content...I learned that while listening at work because i couldn't ever understand it until i did... 😅

Please more reactions to Dan Vasc. His vocal range is amazing. He does many covers and truly makes each one better than the original. He sings every genre you could hope for. He sounds like a dozen different singers rolled into one person. Amazing Grace would be a good one to go to next, then onward from there. He has over 200 in his catalog.

This is a stage worthy performance. Dan prefers metal but he can sing in any genre perfectly! I’m surprised you never heard of Dan. He has one million subs and is on Amazons best selling metal artists list. He has over 240 covers. You won’t be disappointed by any of them. Also, Dan never just sings a song, he performs the song. Oh, at the beginning they chose a very demanding song from Dan. I can assure you, Dan doesn't sweat, that was part of the production. Dan is actually a Brazilian metal singer, composer and his over 200 covers are on UA-cam. On Sunday he reached his goal of 1 million subscribers. He makes his videos in his garage and mostly his covers himself. His band friends from fearless and some very good guitarists help him. A lot has already been mentioned here and I agree with the comments. Be curious and be surprised by the huge voice (4 octaves if I'm not mistaken) and the many different colors of his music. P.S. It's common in metal drumming to use triggers to equalize your kick attack. It's super UNcommon to use them to duplicate your hits. I would be extremely surprised if Austin is "faking" any of those hits, but they are possibly very light to maintain speed and stamina, then enhanced by the trigger

Most people have commented already and I will just second that. He is true vocalist in every way. His vocals powerful, clean, inspiring and emotional and doesn't leave anything on table. Dan enjoys making and you can tell. He has 225+ songs in his catalog and you will never be disappointed. His latest is My Heart Go On with a metal twist and working on a tribute Manowar album. Just a few suggestions, Toss A Coin To Your Witcher, Burn Butcher Burn (Witcher), Amazing Grace, I'll Make A Man Our Of You *mulan), Dawn Over A New World (Dragonforce), Music Of The Night (Phantom), Nessum Dorma, Bring Me To Life (Nightwish), a lot of Bon Jovi songs and on and on. Looking forward to more of Dan on your trip down the rabbit hole.

Jesus Christ Superstar focuses on the human side of Jesus, with parts where he's really weary and almost fed up with everything. I think that makes the story very relatable and powerful. There is also a great portait of Judas, who is not just the stereotypical evil guy. He actually admires and loves Jesus, he just think "this God thing" is going a bit too far, and that it will make the authorithies come down on them. Dan Vasc's version of Gethsemane is my favorite cover version (though maybe a bit overdramatic). But I still think the original, sung by Deep Purple's Ian Gillan, is unsurpassed. Unfortunately, there was never any stage or movie production with the original cast, but there's a clip on YT of Gillan singing Gethsemane. There was a production just some years ago, with John Legend as Jesus (very pale, unfortunately), and Alice Cooper as Herod! There has also been a production with TIm Minchin as Judas. The most common filmed version is the movie with Ted Neeley as Jesus. He's ok, but not of Gillan's caliber IMHO. Whatever version you choose to watch, I stronly suggest that you also listen to the original recording, at least in your own time. It's well worth it.

Rock n Roll: Two of my favorites are Kickstart My Heart and Born to Be Wild covers. His Witcher covers are also great. This is one of my favorite performances of Dan's. Since you are new to this incredible artist's music, I suggest going to his website to familiarize yourself with everything he has done. He has over 245 songs to choose from. I am partial to Ted Neely's performance as Jesus in the 1973 movie. Dan is comparable to his vocal skills. In my opinion. Welcome to VascNation!
