The words/ sounds that she makes that you don't understand are her own language based on emotion rather than a translation of words.
She and her Sister do make most of her clothes, and yes, she does get some from thrift stores. She's not a fan of traditional fashion (Guessing because of the slave labor used to make most of it) She's very socially conscious. As for the marks on her face, they symbolize tears and laugh lines. Aurora's very big on expressing emotions.
Very interesting.
not only the working conditions, also the resource consumption. especially fast fashion.
You wanna hear a harder song? Try Under the Water live on the Honda Stage. The whole concert is great and you will also see another hairstyle of hers from the older days :o)
She makes up her own language in the songs.
The thing I love about Aurora is that her sister makes most of her clothes and the rest she DOES buy at thrift stores...SHe doesn't like buy new things...
Aurora + Silja Sol = Love. It's a shame that Silja is no longer there. Moin aus dem wunderschönen Schleswig-Holstein.
You need to see:
From this same show: All Is Soft Inside
From the HAIK concert: Infections of a Different Kind and The River
From Christines Radiofestival: Different Kind of Human
From Nidarosdomen: Little Boy In The Grass
From Vevo Sessions: Exhale Inhale
From wherever you find it: Forgotten Love
Excellent choices!!!!! He has a long way to go before he understands what a treasure Aurora is to mankind!!
Да ты посмотри весь этот концерт офигеешь от энергии
YES!!!!
I'm taking this journey of discovery right along with you. She's a fascinating person and the more you discover about her, the more there seems to be to know.
I agree!
welcome to the queendom.
This video (well, the full mini-show it opens) was the first I heard of Aurora and I was hooked immediately. So good!
Her makeup represents tears and smile lines.
KEXP is a Seattle radio station, and a great way to find new music. This is from a showcase they do at a festival in Iceland every year.
Imagine opening up this little mini-concert with those insane acapella harmonies. Yes, this was the first song of the set, and that's exactly how they started. This entire set (six songs) is high energy like this and is definitely a fan favorite.
Funny you mentioned her clothes looking like they came from Goodwill. Aurora would take no offense, because she loves shopping at thrift shops, and even recently posted some pictures of herself shopping at one, I believe in Los Angeles. So, her almost 28-year-old self is still not too good to buy used clothing. One of her sisters is a clothing designer (the other a makeup artist), and they often repurpose used clothes into something entirely different.
Next up, I highly recommend "All Is Soft Inside" from the same 2018 KEXP Iceland concert. (Note there is also a 2019 KEXP Seattle concert, but it's not near as good.)
I watch/listen to this KEXP Concert at least one time every week.
Also, this song and It Happened Quiet are both about domestic violence, power, and revenge, if you really dive into the lyrics. But i don't think there is a connection beyond the theme. And you can totally enjoy both songs without knowing what they're about.
Great reaction, I see your questions are already answered regarding the markings on her face and her clothing, nowadays , she wears a lot of original clothing, designed by her and her sister, but, she still thrift store shops too. She really is a deeply caring and unique human. This whole mini concert is high energy, you should do every song performed at it. Thanks and hoping to see Aurora on your channel again soon.
Definitely agree, every single song😍😍❤️

I would recommend All Is Soft inside from the same concert :). Thx for a reaction. She has a lot of variation in her music - sometimes even particular concerts has her own vibes:). This one was very energetic :).
I'll check it out!
The chanting at the end are part of. “Secret” language Aurora claims she will explain someday. But I think she’s teasing us 🙂 Words from the language appear in a number of her songs of her albums. The clothes are picked by Aurora and one of her sisters, apart from the jacket, which she stole from a wizard.
Thanks for this reaction.
The patterns are symbolizing tears and smile winkles.
On interesting!
The dots under her eyes represents tears, and the lines on the sides are smile lines.
Got it
This song is connected to It happened quiet. Murder Song is kind of stand alone except the theme of death being in several of her songs. But like It happened quiet this about an abusive relationship.
AURORA and Eivor are my favorite artists. They are different artists, but both brilliant. Eivor is probably the greatest vocalist in the world.
This entire mini concert is fantastic. Other commentors have said Bjork was in this audience. Great reaction.
Huge empath, but also with an obsession with death from she was very young. Sad receiving presents as a kid, as she knew she couldn't bring them with her when she died 😄. Collecting dead moths etc... Not your average person! One of my favorite songs at her concerts, and this small show is one I return to often. First time I truly saw her enjoying performing. Chanting...
Hmm
Hi Matt, more specifically a churchyard is a graveyard on the property of a church. From Wiktionary: "A patch of land adjoining a church, often used as a graveyard".
you've only scratched the surface of how diverse AURORA is.
love your journey down her amazing rabbit hole. i would suggest All is Soft Inside, at this same concert, one of my fave live of hers.
the marks on her face represent tears, and smiling wrinkles.
her band is always top tier musicians, and she has total artistic control over all her work.
Great suggestion!
That was fun! I love the whole concert. If you watch the whole video, you get also the talk to the audience, wich is super funny.
if you would like a more reacent fun upbeat one from Aurora check out the video for Cure for Me. It never fails to make me smile.
I’m not sure about this song but she has a made up language that comes from the heart, in her words. All Is Soft Inside is from this same concert and it’s amazing!! Queendom is also a very beautiful song and she also performed at this concert 💜
Added!
Yeah... Love this... But to understand a little bit more about Aurora I recommend looking at an early documentary, “Nothing is eternal” from 2016 (11 minutes.), it gives a rare insight in her early life as an artist. You’ve already had a reaction to the Murder song (2015), it came in two versions on her first album “All my friends greeting me as a friend”. So, in the documentary she sings and dance in the streets of her hometown Bergen, Norway, to the other version, and yes it is Electronica. It is fun and a bit shocking to see and hear if the acoustic version is the only you’ve heard before… and remember, she is very young in this documentary, but also very sweet!

WATCH HER FULL CONCERT IN PARIS 2018 its one of her best !
I think you’d probably love all of the songs from this concert as it’s all high energy but my personal favourite from this KEXP is All is soft inside. If you have the time then I’d definitely recommend it x
I think you'll enjoy Daydreamer live at HAIK. It's another upbeat one and the drums in it are really fun.
For me you can find the same kind of positive vibe in "all is soft inside". I do love particularly this version, Aurora - All Is Soft Inside (Live on KEXP) : ua-cam.com/video/TqFK40HUSCw/v-deo.html
Would strongly recommend All Is Soft Inside from the same concert or alternatively do the full concert. 6 songs all together and all fantastic.
this is one of my favorite performances from Aurora. Thanks for reacting to it!!!!
So good!
Great reaction👍
Love the energy in this concert, awesome😍
I recommend every song from it👍
Neither “It Happened Quiet” or “Churchyard” is connected to “Murder Song”, because the first two are about domestic violence and “Murder Song” is about mercy killing.
See you on your next Aurora reaction🥰
😍😍😍❤❤
It's upsetting that youtube buries your comment deep on the comments section now. Where as I used to be able to find them near the top. 😫

Hey my friend😊
Nice to hear from you, I hope you’re doing well❤️
I didn’t know UA-cam did that🤔
Maybe it’s because I answer a bit too late? I lost my dog🥺💔❤️so I haven’t been as active as I used to on YT. I do comment, but maybe the next day or something.
Hope to see you soon❤️💚💛
@@lillm6874 Lost as it ran away or....? 😥
I've been around, just haven't been commenting on anything. All I ever say is for whoever to do Animal. Lol. And they never do anymore it seems like, but it's okay. 🥰❤️
@@FrostedVanity There have been some Animal reactions, but I didn’t see you there, I’ve even recommended it several times😊💚
Balder suddenly got a stroke, so we had to put him down🥺 It was awful, still is💔
He was the sweetest dog ever, not a bad bone in his body❤️
He was 11 years and 7 months, my best friend❤️🦋
Hope to see you around again❤️💚
Yap, she’s so cute, and really stylish. Always great dressed.
The connection between songs are not 100% sure, since Aurora is rarely stating song meanings unambiguously, because she want fans to find their own interpretations.
But the connection between "It Happened Quiet" and "Murder Song" is probable from this quote from her (Murder Song came out 2 years before It Happened Quiet):
"It Happened Quiet is actually connected to a song I've done before... I continue a story I started 2 years ago... So yes, I've had these personal stories [on the album], of what I see is going on in the world and find unfair, and I just kind of wanted to bring them into light."
Also the line in It Happened Quiet "Feathers falling out of a pillow, as if time is standing still", could be after the gunshot in Murder Song through a pillow.
The connection to Churchyard is much more tenuous and more of a fan theory I think, due to the topic of a man saying she belongs in a graveyard vs Murder Song.
At least I haven't read or heard anything from Aurora suggesting it very strongly, here is a quote about Churchyard:
"Churchyard is just like the concept of someone bigger using their power in the wrong way, that happens all the time in politics, with children, women. I wanted the songs to feel empowering - like at the end of 'Churchyard', she comes back to haunt him."
Regarding the chant at the end, I'm not sure if that is part of her "made up" language, which she uses in other songs like "Forgotten Love" and "A Different Kind of Human", or if it is just a chant signifying her coming back to haunt him, I haven't read or heard her saying anything definitively about this.
If you are very interested in these things when reacting to her, there is an aurora-aksnes wiki on Fandom, where these quotes from interviews are listed under the different songs.
She was 22 in this performance from Nov 2018. KEXP is a Seattle radio station which covers the Iceland Airwaves festival for some reason. 3 months later in Feb 2019 she visited the KEXP radio station in Seattle on her US tour, and performed 4 songs + a nice interview.
Thanks for the clarity!
Always great to follow you on this Aurora journey. As for a recommendation for next song, I'd say "All is Soft Inside" from this same concert.
KEXP is a Seattle based radio station and Iceland Airwaves is a multi-genre music festival in Reykjavik, Icelnd
Nice reaction! If you like more of harmonies like in the opening here - check out her cover of The Beatles 'Across The Universe' for Like A Version!
I'll check it out!
Sometimes it's hard to know what Aurora is thinking with her lyrics or sounds, and other times it's quite clear. Sometimes she doesn't even know, or it changes in her mind. She's pretty fluid that way. Since the song is about someone who said essentially she should die or be dead, it may be the sounds are sounds of triumph over that negativity, or getting back at the abuser in defiance - haunting them in a way.
Great to see and hear you again. All is Soft Inside and Gentle Earthquake from the same concert are absolute bangers!!
Nice one try the last dinner party.
AURORA is always amazing!
That guitar is actually a Fender 6 string bass guitar.
Check out the Brazil Coachella version of this song.
The vibe is out of this world❤
Aurora can be sublime and she can also be a party, however her poetry never stops being deep. She is a complete artist. If you want to see a funny performance of her, react to 'Queendom' at minute 21 of full concert at Rock Werchter, Belgium. Maybe it's not the best performance vocally but she puts absolutely her whole body on stage and has a lot of fun.
Will do!
@@teckreactions I recomend to watch Aurora • Live at Lollapalooza Brazil 2023 instead. (channel you can find it is called "reh") She's much better there than Rock Werchter.
@@teckreactions Thank you so much, and you could also react to 'Heathen', which is the first song that begins that concert. Is gorgeous. Grettings from Argentina
@@Wurflenii888 I didn't know that, thanks. I will see it too
you should just watch the whole concert, really - else you will miss the stage banters, which would be a pity. i suggested this concert on you very first aurora reaction, it is percussive. but how much is a good recommendation today? oh, and all aurora songs are interconnected.
So far you have barely scraped the surface of Aurora's original work and there are plenty of further suggestions in the comments here.
But I want to suggest you experience what she can do with other people's songs when she covers them ...
Aurora - «Life on Mars» (David Bowie) : ua-cam.com/video/kJ095S0MmnA/v-deo.html
Will do
I think she was around 24 in this one
I don’t think the Murder song is affiliated with any other song.
She heard of a Mercy killing and wrote a song about it.
This song to me is just a young girls imagination of being stalked and killed.
The song is not deep, very basic language.❤
♥
👍👍👍👍👍
💙🧡
I don't think the vocalization means anything. Just musical decoration - instead of oooh aaah or similar.
Just my guess, because she does something similar in some of her songs.
Is it Ummah - herreh - herroh - herreh ...or something? Someone who knows?
It's only in the background on the studio version.
I speak Norwegian and it makes no sense in Norwegian. Imaginary language? Aurorian?
Hmmm
Thanks for your reaction videos!!!
In her song
"Forgotten love" there are lines
in an imaginary language made by Aurora. She confirmed this on Twitter after many fans confused it for Norwegian.
She is a very weird artist/person!
Then her fans are called wierdos and warriors, so…
Have asked several times
Es, bur will try again. Please react to Angelina Jordan. Would be happy to direct you to a song you might like if you could offer some hints as to what type of music you would want to react to. She has just a variety covering several genres. Again, I promise that you will not be disappointed if you give he a chance.🤎👣
I appreciate the suggestion. I really do. But I have a very large back catalogue to get through of songs that have been more requested. You’re welcome to become a supporter of the channel and it’ll get moved into a smaller pool of suggestions for Supporter’s Choice Tuesday. I appreciate you.
@teckreactions very new to how this works. And I am ainwith little gree m
oney. But if you will explain the cost hope to understand how to expand the audience that will hear her music then go ahead and see what Thanks for devoting you time a least so far.
@@Dave-hb7lx only ballads? have you heard her new EP "Old Enough"?...or Our Time? Just 18 yo and with 13 own songs!! Be respectful, man.
@musicisfeelings6150 Yes, there are covers, several better than the originals. I see you at least understand that there is so much more to AJ that the person you responded to is aware of. Thanks for your effort at educating them. I always look forward to any possible opportunities to spread her magical voice and her message of love and kindness. At least I can take from this interaction the knowledge that somebody gets it. Have a great day, friend.🤎👣
Cute !!!??? - please dont let her apearance as a young girl, talk her geniuse down : She is brilliant !
Did I say that?
She is cute, especially at the end of the song where she smiles. Though I also agree with you, brilliant!
