Kanami’s solo is Magical 🔥❤️🤘 She is something else as a composer and guitarist. For me..She is the most impressive musician of the 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and true Rock n’ Roll Star on stage 🤘🔥💥 Lovin’ Band-Maid ❤️
It was awesome.
Yes, my friend, You have so Right so Right, Puh! But in the Moment most important ist: Holstein, Kiel, erste Bundesliga! Yeah!!🎉
@@tasminoben686 Holstein against Kiel? Can you make a reaction video about this?🤔
The second singer/backup singer is Miku, founder of the band and rhythm guitarist.
Ahhhhh
...and main lyricist.
The tenderness in Saiki's voice that you sense is not because it's a studio recording, but because she knows what the song calls for. She's got that special ability to speak directly to your soul emotionally. The whole band is simply miraculous.
Super chops=From now on 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂🕊
Sweet!
Don't sleep on this one!
Exactly!! Pure 🔥🔥🔥🎸
If you're referring to "chops" as vocals (original music definition) then "From Now On isnt it". "From Now On" is a bad ass instrumental which should be heard by all anyway. The "chops" you may be looking for would be "The Dragon Cries".
@@jeffreyrigby2387 he was not referring to "chops" as vocals, did you not watch the reaction 🙄😂
Watch ABOUT US written for the fans during the pandemic lockdown. It's an absolutely beautiful song.
Will do!
Band maid actually has 2 singers. The rhythm guitarist miku is a vocal powerhouse herself
Nice!
Check out the acoustic version of Sayonakidori to hear Miku in lead vocals.
My personal absolute favourite song with her on vocals is Rock in Me. They don’t have an official video of that but you can find fan cams of the song during their US tour.
If it helps: Saiki, lead singer and blue rose. Miku, rhythm guitarist, backing vocals, red rose. If you want a nice instrumental with a melodic tone and with Miku singing, try "Sayonakidori" from their acoustic Christmas concert.
For instrumentals, "Onset" or "Without holding back" are my favorites. "From now on" is the most recent one and it is very good as well and basically answers the question "can Kanami do a very long solo?", why yes, yes she can.
As for melodic songs, if you really want to hear some more emotion, "Endless story" has become my favorite. There is an official live version, but I would actually recommend starting with the MV.
Instrumental ? Oh god jump on "From now on" !!!!!
On it!
I think I can promise you your brain will fry for talent, songwriting, technicality & so on....
Cause that's a HUGE step.
The girl with the red rose that was singing is Miku. She started the band and is the main spokesperson for the band. When they needed a more powerful voice as lead singer, she stepped down and they brought in Saiki (blue rose). When they needed another guitarist, she learned the guitar from Kanami. When they needed someone to write lyrics, she took up the task. She also sings lead on some songs. super chops = "from now on" or "without holding back" If you want to check out Miku singing, the acoustic version of "Sayonakidori" is a great place to start.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Band-Maid did an acoustic Christmas okyu-ji in December 2021. They have put out a few videos of the performance on the Band-Maid UA-cam channel. All of the songs during the performance were a lot more mid-tempo and two of the songs from that performance that are definitely worth reacting to ae "Sayonakidori" and"Catharsis".
Yo Teck, DAYDREAMING will always be in my top xx list. For super chops via instrumentals now is the time for FROM NOW ON and then ONSET-LIVE. Absolute Awesomeness guaranteed. BAND-MAID was borne for Rock instrumentals. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥Peace. 8.88
Added!
The 2nd woman you picked out is miku. Bandmaid founder, original lead singer, rhythm guitarist, Japanese idol, master marketing pigeon, and when saiki rakes vocal breaks she has solo songs
You left out amazing poker player -- she came second in the Japan Open Poker Tour in 2022. Just google "miku kobato japan open poker tour" -- she is a VERY competitive pigeon.
Ah, you spot the little pigeon? She was the main singer, she gave that spot to the current singer, she is now rocking her rhythm guitar while being secondary vocal for the band,
Thank you for your reaction. I suggest Wonderland, live. Have fun! :)
I'll check it out!
Best hard rock band : Miku - Band founder, Lyricist, Rhythm Guitar and 2nd singer: Kanami - Lead guitarist, Composer: Akane - Drums: Misa - Bass: Saiki - Lead vocals
There are two singers -- the lead singer (the taller one) and the backup singer (short rhythm guitarist). The backup singer does some parts as well as harmonies.
Instrumentals -- "From Now On" (music video), "Onset" (live), "Without Holding Back" (music/studio video - you can find it on UA-cam, but not in the Band-Maid channel) -- and there are others. They have released a few instrument-only versions of some of their songs, which is cool -- e.g. "Giovanni".
Ahhh
I agree that "About Us" would show another side of them live. Before they played it, during a Covid lockdown stream, Saiki gave a very poignant address to their fans. Also the live, and recent, version of "Endless Story" and the live acoustic Catharsis would be good.
"Anemone" and "Awkward" are some more great melodic songs from them.
The song From Now on
Fact about BAND MAID the ladies makes some instrumental songs on purpse. In 2017 Saiki had a surgery for polip in vocal cords. After that's the others members create make spécial moment in concert included Miku's singer only and instrumental song for manage a good break to protect Saiki's voice. In 2024 her vocal power is bigger than in her debut on 2013. ( Surgery , training with a vocal coach & help of the members with concert break).
Try instrumental FROM NOW ON.
Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, Memorable, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile -- an unbelievable range of mid-tempo songs from the greatest hard rock band on the planet - Band-Maid. "Daydreaming," "YOLO," "Puzzle,” and a host of others are world-class masterpieces.
Although I love Daydreaming just the way it is and believe it may be Band-Maid's best composed and overall accessible song, I've always wondered if it was sung in English, how deep in the international market Daydreaming would have traveled? It'll be interesting to see if Bestie (sung in English) hits new markets. Oh well, I'll stop daydreaming now. Thx TECK, for another great Band-Maid reaction!
I bet it will, or maybe there's an English song already out there, that they like. I found Diana Ankudinova because everyone was reacting to her cover of I Can't Help Falling in Love With You, and my mom was a huge Elvis fan, so there's lots of his I like, therefore it was an instaclick heh. They would probably sound good on some Bangles or Belinda Carlisle. They're about in their range.
@@SymphonicEllen Are you saying Band-Maid could do a Bangles cover to help them break into the English-speaking markets? If so, that's an interesting concept. Maybe the Maids would cover this Hall & Oates song, "I can't go for that, no can do!" 🎶🎶 🤘🏻😂
@@TomClark-Futoura Yea, and I was mainly thinking who matched them vocally and somewhat in theme like the GoGo's song Vacation , but that is a good song :)
@@SymphonicEllen And I was thinking only of the words in that D & O song title being the answer the Maids would give regarding covering a good but way out of the realm of where Band-Maid's musical sensibilities lie, imo. ;-)
From Now On is an instrumental. The other member (6:52) is Miku. She formed the band and plays Rhythm. She didn't know how to play when the band was formed (She wanted to be lead singer but her voice was wrong for their music) so Kanami taught her. 10 years later and Saiki surprised everyone by playing piano and singing choose me. Look for it. As for different sides of Band-Maid, they have more sides than a Chinese Buffet. Try Band-Maiko, Gion Cho, or the Acoustic Sayonakidori. (MISA plays lead on bass)
I am sure you know that an acoustic setting lets a singer show more of their voice. Floating around on the net are acoustic versions of Puzzle, and Anemone. Saiki's voice is so expressive. Not to be overlooked is back up vocalist Miku. Doesn't have Saiki's power but may be more versatile. Try acoustic Sayonakidori.
Instrumentals? From Now on, Onset comes to mind,
BAND-MAID fans love the faster stuff, and tend to recommend it first to reactors. But we love songs like Daydreaming, Anemone, Memorable, About Us, Besties, and others, too.
On Daydreaming, I love Kanami's chiming sort of sound, for parts of the song. It reminds me of the Edge's work in a lot of U2 songs, too.
Excellent review on a beautiful video. There’s quite a bit of English here; Saiki closing choruses with “feel my soul,” and Miku’s ethereal “Daydreaming, dreaming of you.”
Now you are perfectly set up for “From Now On.” There is no finer way to experience the incredibly diverse talent that is Band Maid. I challenge you to name any other artist that could’ve recorded both tracks.
I've been listening to Band-Maid for over four years, saw them LIVE in Charlotte and can only tell you what a few songs are about. You'll miss a lot of music getting too wrapped up in what the lyrics are...... grasp the music.
The girl you’re looking at is Miku, the founder of the band. B-M started as a 4-piece with her as the only vocalist, she brought in Saiki and demoted herself to second vocalist (and guitar holder) very soon after formation.
Miku has a more poppy voice and comes from an idol background, and she and the band wanted a grittier voice for the kind of songs they were going to do.
She’s also the main promoter, emcee, and conducts the most interviews, so I consider her the “face” of the band (although Saiki has been stepping up on that lately).
Their latest video, Bestie, is another slower melodic one, and it's sung all in English. This one was co-written by their friend Michael Einsinger of Incubus.
For the chops, check out any of the instrumentals. From Now On you mentioned is one of them, and a tour de force guitar five minute guitar concerto. Which could almost describe the other instrumentals, as well, actually. :)
Great reaction. Rock on, Teck!
The best live rock band in musical history. We are truly blessed by their presence.
I absolutely love this song. I can actually sing along to it ive heard it that many times.
From now on
For some reason, Band Maid produced 2 songs with traditional clothing and traditional instruments in addition to electric instruments. To see Band Maid in a different light.. the song Gion-Cho, it is a slower song, you will love it.
Two videos, but 8 recorded songs - tho all but "Gion-cho" are re-workings of Band-Maid tracks.
@@stevehall5128 Ah...the rival cover band Band-Maiko. Perhaps the only band that can go head to head with Band-Maid. Funny how they are never in the same place together... 🤔🤭 PO!🕊
Love the reaction Master TECKreacts. This continues to be in my top 2, more often than not my favorite song by the Maids. And why not, in a past interview with Kanami, this was her favorite song to play. Keep on going with your journey down the Pigeon-hole. You will find Band-Maid has a very diverse portfolio. Enjoy the ride.
Band-Maid essentially has two vocalist with lead quality voices. Miku, with the red rose and the most standard maid battle armor, is the founder of the Band and was the original lead singer. Realizing her pop/idol voice didn't fit as well with her vision of where she wanted Band-Maid to go, she approached Management to look for other singers within the agency who's voice would work for their direction. Enter Saiki, blue rose and usually all in black "maid" attire. Although it started more as a dual vocal direction, as you can see in some of their earlier songs, eventually the direction moved to Saiki taking the primary lead and Miku taking more of a backing vocal part. Yet, Miku still does have songs on every album. Miku does take the lead during their full concerts, to allow Saiki to take a break in the middle to middle-later part of their set list. A Miku or 2 songs, followed by an instrumental or 2, followed by a MC break. PO🕊 WORLD DOMINATION!!!🤘😆🤘
Nice react, others melodic songs. about us is a good one but my favorite is Manners more 70's rock a litlle bit bluesi maybe, each of these song have an official live
To illustrate what you are talking about concerning SAIKI (lead singer) give this a reaction:
PUZZLE - both of these are live!

Rock version - ua-cam.com/video/zvuqmSQEnaA/v-deo.html
I think you shall listen to the official music video of "From now on". Its the simplest alternative if you want a good instrumental.
There are other instrumentals, but it is harder to find studio version, if you even can find a version that is not blocked.
The "white" music video version of "Without holding back" is totally fantastic. But, you cannot find it without downloading it from "Instrumental Maid". The "white" instrumentals is from a special Bluray that they sell and do not want to have on their official site. Have no idea if it gets blocked. There are lots of reactors that have reacted to it though.
"Onset" is a third alternative. There is an official live video for that song. It sounds good, but the "white" videos where you can see the girls play is so much more fun. And the audio quality is out of this world. Many reactors have reacted to the "white" version of Onset. You can also download that from "Instrumental Maid".
Oh Po! -
Ballads -About Us, Memorable, Endless Story
Instrumentals - Don't Be Long, Onset, From Now On, Without Holding Back ,Go Nuts! (If you can find it)
Also, they have released several instrumental versions of songs with lyrics as bonus DVD,/BluRay videos ("white room" sessions) with their physical CD releases.
Caution tho against showing the videos not on their page in reactions, as they are technically paywall. Audio only reacts should be fine.
This video was on their page.
@@teckreactions No, I know. I was just saying some of my suggestions may not be.
If you like the softer side of BAND-MAID check out 'About Us' or 'Endless Strory' LIVE, or even the acoustic versions of 'Puzzle' and 'Sayonakidori'.
To me, I think that this song from 2017 is part of Kanami's coming of age regarding composing- four years into the business.
This is a live version of “Daydreaming”.
The intro piano solo backing track is played by Kanami.

the 'percussive' description to nihonggo is understandable. it's not known for accents in as much as the language is tied up to 'moras' [which literally translates to 'beats'], unlike the way english speakers have learned and used accent and inflection in english.
re twin tails aka little pigeon, will just add a little to the info that the other maidiacs have shared. as a lyricist, she stands out among her contemporaries. her technique in syllabication [see 'puzzle' and 'catharsis'] and extending lyrics beyond their meter lines [see 'bestie'] are tools not often used by modern lyric writers.
[and we're not even touching here the ice queen's ability to enrich the nuance and intention of the words].
you're on your way to digging deeper into the rabbit hole. 👏
cool chi rho shirt, btw.
Thanks!
They’re nothing like band maid except being from Japan… but you should really check out wagakki band homura akatsuki no ito
Japanese is not really a percussive language … in fact almost every Japanese word & syllable ends with a vowel (example,if you see a Japanese word spelled ‘make’ you would pronounce it ‘ma kaa’ …
One of the reasons the Japanese use what seems like random English words in their lyrics is to put some of that percussive ‘consonant’ sound in to their lyrics (Band-Maid does this better than most as the English words used usually fit the song very nicely and are not ‘randomly’ selected just to add a consonant sound.)
Japanese alphabet has 40 syllables (sounds)…. and 39 end in a vowel sound.
“n” is the only exception.
English is a much more percussive language than Japanese.
I don't think their alphabet is evidence of that, but the utilization of said alphabet. According to learnjapaneseonline.info, Japanese is called a "mora-timed" language meaning "syllables each have a particular 'weight' or 'length', which affects the language's rhythm, rather than simply a particular syllable carrying the stress in a word - while other syllables are unstressed." English is a "stress-timed" language "where the stressed syllables are said at approximately regular intervals, and unstressed syllables shorten to fit this rhythm."
Regarding melody and inflection, according to York University, the sentence inflection mechanism is similar to English, however, not a significant trait in Japanese language.
I'm then led to them believe Japanese is more rhythmic than melodic -- more percussive.
@@teckreactions well... you certainly won't get that from Saiki's singing on most songs.
