What you say you don't like about this song is what is called minimalist music. This song went viral on social networks, even if it didn't become a Billboard hit, it touched many people, luckily there are enough people who appreciate the "less is more" approach. There are so many positive things about this song, and you couldn't mention even one.

I think he would benefit from a really quality music producer. It sounds like he has a good amount of talent but needs some direction or, for lack of a better term, "marketing" advice. I didn't hate the song but it won't be on any playlists of mine any time soon. Sounded like it could go on a movie soundtrack.
