i learned nothing new but I like your energy :D I once thought i was using the notes tab in my vpilot but was actually in the message tab and wrote down my taxi instructions and accentally sent them via chat. Controller was apparently monitoring text closely as well and was like "readback correct" thinking I maybe did that on purpose or had encountered a mic issue or something :D

Idk your take is kinda weird. Why not call your buddy on discord and hop into a channel? Or send him over a private message? Like why do you think its important for you to talk over the frequency and have all the other pilots be part of that? Its not like he is your long lost childhood friend and if you dont talk to him over frequency you will lose contact for another decade or so.

I cant lie, i like ur attitude and enthusiasm, but i will say i think with you is a little more harsh, truthfully its said irl too, and every pilot that ive talked too irl, and controller, have said that they are ok with it as long as it replaces a phrase like Good Morning or Checking in(though there may be plenty to disagree however everyone ive talked too(80+ so far pilots, and 30+ controllers) have said the general same thing. Modding should NEVER be a grey area. Modding has been a part of PC gaming since the days of friggin Half Life. We wouldn't have Counter Strike without modding, ffs you guys.

I totally disagree there are 2 types of users, console and PC gamers. Some of us can’t afford a $2000 gaming rig that we have to constantly upgrade not to mention fix all the software and hardware bugs and PC game card graphic errors you get once a week due to graphic overloading. You can buy a used Xbox for $300 get a 1 T drive for $99 more then buy the game, you save so much money and headaches. If you are a pro flight simmer then yes a PC is for you if you willing to spend the cash.

People taxing through others be like: "I want a more realistic experience, so I will connect to VATSIM" "Ok let me just taxi through that other plane here" yeah.. I dont care that much about what happens on unicom myself, but that one is just so unnecessary. Exception is maybe if noone is answering to you on unicom, and the guy is just standing on the taxiway for 2 minutes and not moving..

Ok - but to manage the updates of hundreds of add ons individually is just a waste of time. The Market place easily does this work for you. I very much appreciate that and I only buy add ons via the market place.

I think you have a good point about the frequency being for operational use only rule, but I can totally see why they put it in. Saying hello to a friend on a lot of frequencies would be perfectly fine, but on some frequencies, it really isn't (for example if you are on London Heathrow Tower saying hello to a friend, you are essentially blocking communications on a very busy frequency). I guess they have taken a ruling that if you can't do it on some frequencies, you shouldn't do it on any.

I never had FS2020 encryption files until Asobo's update 1.37.19.0 auto installed June 18, 2024, release notes stated: No Content - No Fixes???? Why Microsoft Simulator does not notify users FIRST before they automatically download updates is beyond their intelligence. The reason is these updates will MESS-UP the simulator files after it reboot/restarts. THEY TELL USER IN THE RELEASE NOTES to uninstall ALL Community Folder content prior to 'their auto-update' or it will mess-up user's sim. Duh... an option to delay these updates (until user has moved community content) would be appropriate!!

It is very overrated, and I’ve done a ton of them. It’s far too crowded to the point where it’s not realistic because it’s too many people at once. Also, the 787, the 747, and the A330 for MSFS are more than good enough for CTP.

“With you” is not such a big deal. Every single time I’ve listened to real life ATC, I hear pilots say that. All. The. Time. I’m tired of all these smart Alec’s trying to convince everyone that saying “with you” is wrong. It’s not technically wrong, it’s just not required. I agree on the other points though. But I will always complain about people complaining about me saying “with you” because it ain’t gonna stop.

i fly x-plane since version 10, there’s a reason why real pilots much prefer XP compared to MSFS. first of all msfs is a full blown consumer oriented software, it’s only good trick is graphics and satellite 3d scenery, xplane has outstanding physics, calculated in real time, with proper modding can also be used for level C and almost level D sims

Fenix sucks. FBW is far better. Nothing but autoland and ILS glideslope problems with Fenix.

I am so pleased to see this. I have endeavoured for many years to have people understand that this is a simulator, not a game. Rather I see it as a simulator with a symbiotic game element. Unfortunately Microsoft market it as a game (for business reasons) and Asobo uses a game engine (which is necessary for our enjoyment and the mechanics of the simulation), however too many people encourage and reinforce the perception that it's a game, and I argue that unless we simmers quit this attitude then we are more likely to get more of a game than a flight simulation (in future versions as well). The object of a flight simulation should be "flight replication", not 'playing' a game, otherwise if gaming was the focus then there are plenty of games people can spend their time and money on. Since beginning flight simming in 1973 I have invested AU$75,000 in the genre (software, hardware etcetera) no-one spends that kind of money on a game. I take flight simulation seriously, and Microsoft needs to change their marketing strategies just a little bit, and push the reality aspect of simulation - and tone down the 'game' aspect. I don't believe they will lose financially if they have a smart writer of blurbs and 'package' information. XBox for gamers and PC for flight replicators. Microsoft and Asobo need to run both but there should be a clear demarcation in their minds and the minds of people who use the product(s).

Without sounding _too_ entitled, I would've thought that _someone_ would have made a mod by now to give the zibo treatment to the default A330. Kinda disappointed. And I hate to say it, but ToLiss and Flightfactor just can't seem to get their models right. Something is always off about them visually and it puts me off (though I'm sure their systems modelling is fantastic). Besides them, X-Plane is looking pretty dormant in the payware aircraft scene, much less active than MSFS, not to mention all the resources microsoft is pouring into improving default/official aircraft hiring the likes of Inibuilds and Working Title (I doubt Laminar has that kind of money to just splash around).

Personally it's sort of a silly question - "Which one should you get ?" - They're both excellent, like really superb aircraft, but one happens to be complely free so obviously getting the free one makes the most sense, at least as a start - I have both and both are well worth having in your hangar. Which one would you get would make more sense if you were paying significant amounts of money for both and you didn't want to waste your money on a more mediocre aircraft. Wouldn't it have been better to have a title "FBW and Fenix A320s compared"... Secoondly they're different aircraft, so not strictly comparable. One is a more modern long range A320 neo with very efficient engines (FlyByWire), the other is a slightly dated original model A320-200 (the Fenix). Finally, the A32NX is not shareware - it"s entirely open source and has no restrictions to its use. It might be wise to look up the definition of shareware.
