- If you're thinking of upgrading your PC to an nVidia RTX 4090 graphics card to pump out the best performance from Microsoft Flight Simulator, here are the important settings to use!
Hoch! It's great to see you still enjoying the Flight Simulation hobby and continuing to produce content from that passion. I hope you and yours have been well! Keep up the good work bro and I look forward to "riding along".
Good to reconnect with you here!
I have a 4080 and run everything at default in NVIDIA except for FPS, which I limit to 60. In the game, I run everything at 4K Ultra. I use a i9 13900K processor and the GPU is almost always loafing along, with the CPU still being the primary limit to frame rate. You really don't need a 4090 for MSFS. Even the 4080 is more than enough. Most of the time it is CPU limited and when flying at altitude over sparse areas, the GPU is the limit, but even the 4080 will deliver 80-90 FPS (if I don't have the cap on) when the CPU is not limiting. I think the only people that might need the 4090 are people with high end VR.
I feel like you sound like Matt from Royal Caribbean Blog, or maybe you are him. Anyways nice video!
When you are a flight simulator fan that sometimes goes on cruises and somehow find worlds collide. Thanks Ma.... Hochmania :)
Just realized who this is and I really hope I run into on a cruise ship now so we can talk aviation!
For some reason I started to get a strange Shimmer of the cockpit not the outside with the frame generation on. Trying to figure out what's going on. Only while panning.
Thank you for your video. How is your experience with the RTX 4090 and heavy AI traffic, e.g. FSLTL with 100 IFR aircraft? Do you still get 60 FPS at Ultra settings?
Do these settings apply to VR also?
Hi. Would you set anti-aliasing from ATT to Nvidia Dlss, one year later? And would you change any other setting? I am in VR with Pico 4
Basically Ultra default with some minor tweaking. 👍
I did as you said with my 4090 with general options, but my Nvidia DLSS frame generation is blacked out and I don’t know how to get it on
Suggestions ????
Minor correction: 3:18 Frame generation is not available on all "RTX" Gpu's. It's exclusive to 40 series and mayyybe 30 series. Not sure about 30 series. But you definitely won't find it on RTX 20 series.
dlss is avalible for 20 series cards, its dlss 3.1 that's only available on 40 series cards
@@InTheMood-fi3bh dlss is not the same thing as frame gen. On a 40 series you can run frame gen in native 4k without dlss. As you pointed out, dlss 3.1 is only available on 40 series….along with frame gen. There is a 3rd party frame gen mod people have been using for sub 40 series cards but I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on it so I doubt it’s quite as good as 40 series.
@@treloarw ah okay I'm wrong.
@@InTheMood-fi3bh probably the most humble acknowledgment of incorrectness I’ve seen in a while. Lol
I was thinking same thing you were thinking until I finally got a 40 series and found out first hand. If you get a 4070 or higher, chances are your need for dlss upscaling will completely disappear. Frame gen is a game changer and works beautifully with TAA in native 4k. That js of course, assuming any given game you’re running supports frame gen. Sure there’s plenty of info out there but it’s not always communicated clearly and concisely.
@@treloarw Thanks,
My claim came from when I used a 2070s and I thought I used FG for msfs, and only later did I start to use upscaling when I switched to a 4k monitor. I guess I just used dlss for anti-aliasing.
Hey Hochmania, do you know how to get my NVIDIA DLSS frame generation from being graded out to work ??????
Please see my last comment I texted to you !
Just got my new computer 4090 suprim liquid x i9 13k 128bg of ram I went for broke qnd my God msfs is beautiful now
It's such a game changer!
@hochmaniac why did you choose high performance for texture quality rather then high quality
Dude - you do realize in order for NVIDIA DLSS FRAME GENERATION to be on, you ALSO must have Hardware Acceleration enabled in Game Settings - without it - that option either grayed out OR doesn't exist.... so - just say'n.
My computer would unironically explode
What are your GSync settings in Nvidia Control Panel?
Interesting, I'm trying it out with my 4090. What are your traffic settings? That is also important for performance. And how many average frames did you get ingame?
No traffic, I only allow vatsim traffic to be displayed
Traffic settings are up to your CPU. I prefer 50% everything and all graphic settings maxed out except for sliders, 200 200 and i get in to 70s in San Francisco downtown area flying low to the ground. Not 4k tho, i use 1440p ultrawide. RTX 4080, Ryzen 9 5900x, 32gb ram, ssd
Which Airbus is that and how do I get the Jet Blue livery?
Grayed Out I meant to say !!
The settings are not this simple. It depends on de CPU with the GPU. In dev mode put on the FPS counter. Then make your settings. Msfs is CPU bound. First set your GPU to high or ultra and set then your CPU settings.
This is are 4090 setings...and of course whoever buys a 4090 probably has a high end CPU as well
Hi , Nice video. Is this on the laptop ? or a PC .
Desktop PC
I have a 2k 21x9 monitor outputs less fps than 16x9 4k, are there any options why this might be?
on 4090? Maybe other settings, like traffic that are CPU intensive?
Was this video sponsored by Hawkz?
Of course!
ultra latency mode when u got nvidia reflex on? makes no sense
Exactly. I have a 4070 and leave all Nvidia settings to default and tweak settings in the sim! That gives you the best latency!
