    8:03 It is that way It won’t completely release and keep gap. it will always touch and create a self gap due to plate running. You can confirm by Keep on main stand turn rear wheel and press brake . Release and turn the rear wheel and you will hear plate running sound Start bike on main stand and put in 1st gear and just let it speed and then turn neutral and let rear wheel come to rest. You will notice the sound gone. Sorry for long post But just to clear doubts.

    I am confused because my RE dealer is telling me that doing a lot of the upgrades to the 650 engines that I see online are risking grenading because the engines are not tunable. But I find that hard to believe because so many people are doing everything to their engines. I would love to hop my SM up to 865cc with cam and free-flow exhaust and power commanders, but if they are in fact unable to be tuned then I might as well trade in the bike for something I can customize more.

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand 6 днів тому

      Exhausts, air filters etc are easy, and self tune by idling the bike for 15 minutes. But big bore kits are a whole other story. It is possible, but easy to get wrong and carries high risk. Maybe better off trading in 🙏

    What about the power / efficiency, I have heard belts cause loss of power of around 10-15%, i think a dyno test with a chain and with a belt would be able to get the results, would like to know about your experience.

      No power loss that I have noticed on a 47hp bike. What you do notice is the smoothness between gear changes. My wife no longer head butts me on gear changes when pillion. No dipping of forks. So in a way better than chain in my opinion.

    I have the touring model and find it extremely comfortable. I have done a 3,000 km trip on it with no issues, although I replaced the crappy shocks on my return to Brisbane. My partner is yet to pillion with me. I went on the One Day ride in Brisbane on Sunday, 110 riders turned up to Toogoolawah. Great day out. Mark (on partners account)

      The touring seat is much better than the single / dual seat. And yes the rear shocks have to be changed to save your spine on long journeys. I'm finding the Sahara seats better again. So is Mrs T now we've taken the genuine RE back rest off. I've now ordered an aftermarket one. 🙏

    I test rode a Vulcan before I bought my Super Meteor. At around 80kms and over the Vulcan vibrated a lot!! It really put me off! Other riders I know complained of the same thing. He mentions it at 8:45, but I wasn't sure where the vibration was coming from. Engine, body or handlebars? But it was quite bad. It's the main reason I bought the Super Meteor. It's a beautiful looking bike!! Very classic! I got the Celestial Red with the good pillion seat, and Windscreen. Everybody always comments on what a beautiful bike it is.

      @Teacher-T-Thailand 8 днів тому

      To stop the vibrations on the Vulcan you have to keep it high rev all the time. It's basically a racing engine from the Ninja. Which is the only downside to the bike. High revs don't really make relaxed cruising. 🙏

      @@Teacher-T-Thailand Yeah, but it's a pretty big downside!! I bought my Super Meteor to cruise, and I love it, and my girlfriends love the very comfy rear seat with the little back rest!!

      I’m in the UK. Order took twice as long to be made as stated in the order. I had to order alternatives in that time. Trip Machine refuse to now allow the unopened late product to be returned. I would not recommend.

      @@StevieJ1403 That’s a real shame. Customs really can hold things up sometimes. They do have a UK stockist. Urban rider in London. But I don’t see that they stock this style of bag yet. Sorry to hear of your bad experience. All the best 🙏

      Customs is not the problem. Their honesty about manufacturing times is. I’d encourage other prospective buyers to be very wary.

    As a shotgun owner this May I can easily say its a great head turner as it scores an absolute 100 percent on looks , performance wise not a bad machine at all, high acceleration, easy riding position and you don't feel the weight of driving a 240 kg heavy machine.... The stencil white colour however is my personal favourite

    Just a FYI personal story. 20 years riding and had my first accdient and I always wear a GOOD action cam (DJI Action 4 $300) as my proof for any bad situations. The accident caused the camera to stop recording by pressing one of the buttons on it, and so it did not record the accident and I lost all proof. The worst part is, when it turned off it didnt save the last 4 or 5 seconds before it shut down, so that was the important part I needed to proof the other person at fault (actually intentional). I am going to add a cage to mine that blocks all the buttons from being pushed, but that should not have been nessisary. A good dash cam wont lose any footage if it stops recording and it has record lock and other protections. So yes an action cam can make a dash cam, but just a fair warning that they are not purpose made for it, decide how much your piece of mind is worth! I keep mine chin mounted so it sees what I see and is better stabalized than on the bike, and it comes with me as I never leave my helmet making it easier to use all the time day to day. I only run one on the bike when I am recording ride footage for multiple angles. Do not need a cage for water resistance on the nicer cameras as they are water proof for like 10 meters.

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand 9 днів тому

      That’s a very sad story. But this little cheap one comes on and off with the ignition every time and doesn’t skip a beat. And then I never forget to turn it on. It records up to a week at a time. The quality is not great, but good enough. I never use it for video footage for my videos. Just the odd moment I don’t catch on my 360 I suppose. Plus I can leave it on the bike when parked in public. I wouldn’t feel safe doing that with an expensive camera. All the best to you and safe riding 🙏

    Another bummer, that is a scooter setup. On all descent bikes, you can remove the calliper without removing the axl or at least pull it partly out. I start to lean to Triumph to replace the VN900.

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand 9 днів тому

      Even Triumoh have this set up now on the new 400 range. Agreed you can pull the axle out part way, but this soul muck up my belt drive. The next service I will remove it fully.
