    Teacher T you will not please everyone. I thought this video was great and you must have saved people a lot of money on labour charges! You deserve a lot of coffees and I’ll be happy to buy you one once I get signed in. Many thanks once again. Can’t wait for the front pads to be changed. 😊

    It is that way
    It won’t completely release and keep gap.
    it will always touch and create a self gap due to plate running.
    You can confirm by
    Keep on main stand turn rear wheel and press brake .
    Release and turn the rear wheel and you will hear plate running sound
    Start bike on main stand and put in 1st gear and just let it speed and then turn neutral and let rear wheel come to rest.
    You will notice the sound gone.
    Sorry for long post
    But just to clear doubts.

    Great video, it looked much easier than I expected it to be - thank you
    Looking forward to seeing you changing the front pads.

    Excellent explanatory video T.T, thanks for sharing . By the way, why put original pads? There are much better quality pads

      Thank you. It's just hard to get any parts for the Meteor in Thailand at the moment. But
      agreed, HH rated pads would have been preferred. But 5 times the price I paid for these, and discs will lady longer with these also. Just a poor teacher 😁🙏

    Great video and glad I watched. I have just checked my bike which has now done 6,500 miles and my pads are down to about the same as yours. It’s going in for service next month, so I’ll get them replaced. Thanks for sharing and prompting me to check mine. By the way, I used brake cleaner to clean my callipers and discs every time I clean my bike.

    Just replaced the front pads on my SM650 at the 300 mile service. Pads looked brad new but squealed at the end of every stop. New EBC pads in with CRC brake quiet sprayed on the back side of the pads. Transferred metal shim plates from the OEM pads to the EBC pads. Fresh lube on the caliper pin. Cleaned rotor thoroughly. Now no squeal from the front brakes. OEM pads are Brembo branded, and appear identical to the EBC pads. I kept them for re-use. I think the CRC brake quieter spray was the cure, not just the new pads.
    Thanks for the tutorial on the rear pad change. A suggestion, perhaps a tutorial on adjusting the height of the rear brake pedal and gear shift lever. I find myself repositioning my right foot to avoid riding the rear brake pedal.

    Excellent video Teacher T. Can I ask after how many KMs did you require change of pads? Mine got worn out in just 5k KMs. Never happened with me before. I'm riding Royal Enfields since 2009.

      9,000 km on the rear. I do tend to use the rear more than the front, But I do suspect the front will need changing soon. 🙏

    HI Teacher T
    I really enjoy your videos, I also have a Super Meteor 650. I was so impressed with the Gates belt conversion that I ordered a kit and installed it on my bike. I write to you now however because I have been smitten by the recent new model from CFMOTO the CL-C450 I have had a test ride and ordered a Red/Silver model. I would very much like to see you review this model and get your insight on it. By the way your rear brake pad replacement video was very detailed and excellent.in my opinion. Cheers Ron.

      Hi Ron. Thank you for your nice comment. Glad you are enjoying the belt drive. It makes the ride so much smoother and enjoyable. Thanks for the suggestion of the CF Moto. Mrs T is looking for a bike, to join me on videos. All the Royal Enfields are too tall and heavy, as she is on,y petite. This bike looks perfect. But no dealers in Thailand that I can find at the moment. Will investigate more. Safe riding 🙏

      @@Teacher-T-Thailand Hi Mr T, the CL-C450 would be ideal for your wife as the seat height is 690mm and not to heavy either, It also has a belt drive which is an advantage I think. It is a great shame there are no dealerships Thailand, I will keep watching your videos as I think there great. Ron.😊

    Greetings Teacher T. Back in the 1970s & 1980s following a long wet motorway ride a typical group cleaning session was in order with plenty of teas naturally. Simply to clean the disks following the soap and water treatment I'd use a microfiber cloth and petrol from my tank. Whereas a couple of my mates would use thinners. After our Cornish holiday and the final cleaning I used thinners on my disks with the microfibre cloth. The dirt that still came off was surprising! The following day I noticed how responsive both were. Hope this helps if spray cleaner is hard to obtain?

    Another bummer, that is a scooter setup. On all descent bikes, you can remove the calliper without removing the axl or at least pull it partly out. I start to lean to Triumph to replace the VN900.

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  2 місяці тому +1

      Even Triumoh have this set up now on the new 400 range. Agreed you can pull the axle out part way, but this soul muck up my belt drive. The next service I will remove it fully.

    actually there is no mechanical system to pull back the break pads once we applied the break.....that is why the pads are touching even in its neutral position...... the disc rotation is the force which push back to the normal position of pads...... please tell in how many kilometres you changed your break pads?
    i own a royal Enfield meteor 350...and i changed break pads for the first time on 19k kilometres.....

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  3 місяці тому

      Agreed, but both sides of pads should wear even,y. But the calliper not centralising prevented this, and caused the other side to rub a,l the time. 9,000 km was the change. But I’m more of a rear brake user than a front. 🙏

    I really don't know what to say. Ŵear rubber gloves! Use nickel anti-seize high temperature grease. Sand pads and disc to remove any glaze. And use the right tool for the job.Period! Forgot to tell you to use copper (permatex) on all electrical connections keeps water out aids in holding and removing.

    Another suggestion. Spray the brake cleaner on your cleaning cloth or pad, not on your rotor and wheel. I dont think the solvent in brake cleaner spray are safe for paint

    Not the best design by RE. You should be able to remove the caliper without messing anything else up

    • @Teacher-T-Thailand
      @Teacher-T-Thailand  3 місяці тому

      Yeah it’s a shame. If I remove the wheel axle, I mess up my belt drive alignment. That can take more than an hour to get done. As it’s been running well and maintenance free I just don’t want to muck with it. One way of making cheaper bikes I suppose 🙏
