Porsche for sure builds the best (sports) cars in the world. My favourite car overall is def. the 992 Turbo (S) platform. It's a 365 days per year daily allrounder if you want and it can be the racetrack McLaren 720S killer if you want. It's so insanely reliable and well engineered, that when you bring the car f.e. to 9ff (probably the best Porsche tuning manufacturer in the world) and get the 1000 HP / 1000 Nm kit for your 992 Turbo (S) with 50000km warranty by German standards, the Porsche PDK gearbox doesn't even need to be changed, because it can handle so much power (up to 1300 HP and 1200/1300 Nm is no problem). Custom 9ff tuning takes you to crazy heights obviously, but I'm talking about standard fuel tuning without a crazy amount of work for them - simply because the whole platform with the engine, clutch / gearbox etc. is just so reliable and great for performance enhancing work. And yeah... it's as comfy as a C63 and as sporty as a Huracán if you want - just by a few settings changed on that touchscreen or the steering wheel. For sure you can spec it with the 18-way adaptive seats (climated / heated etc.) or even Carbon (customized) bucket seats, but that doesn't change the abilities of the car. It has all-wheel drive, is super safe to handle in the worst weather conditions and overall pretty much the best sportscar you can buy. The sound is probably the only weak point - but even that has something nice, simply because on long highway tours you love a car that sounds sporty but is not too loud (and if you want you can still get a aftermarket exhaust system). So If I could I'd buy a 992 Turbo with a nice spec, carbon seats and ceramic breaks and then take it to 9ff and get the full German engineering experience and when we're dreaming already, as a 2nd car I'd get a F-150 Raptor R, take it to delta4x4 or ORC, let them put on some Werewolf portal axles and build a perfect offroad monster for some nice weekends in the nature, where you sleep in the truck, go huting and driving offroad and as a 3rd car I'd get a nice usable and super comfy daily - something like a Porsche Taycan Turbo S (Turbo GT is already too sporty), Audi RS6 or the upcoming new BMW M5 Touring (G99). Maybe one day... still a lot of hustling. xD
That line up would be gangster. I've had turbo s, left a lot to be desired on the track but it was wildly comfortable.
looks like hill country.... what track is that?
Circuit of Americas in Austin. Yep, a little texas hill country.
Hi I’m all out Porsche I don’t feel bad paying $50 k extra for your GT4RS I got one and paid $65 over and am really happy with my car I love to get a 992 GT3RS but I don’t want to sell my GT4RS for nothing thanks for your video
I appreciate your gratitude mindset, it leads to abundance. The 3rs is still the pinnacle if our made up world.
Maybe you can try track attack
whats wrong with xou. tesla cheated alsways on the nürburgring. Thats so typical for Americans. bad Loosers
This is why the Rich get richer. The average Joe pays over msrp and the rich 🍆 pay msrp lol
I just wish us guys in Europe didn’t have to deal with OPF filters. I’d for sure put a Klein exhaust system on my GT4RS and never look back.
I'll have to look in to Klein. OPF and the taxes I suppose...
Yeah I love your trailer ! I'm one of your faithful followers from France, got the same car, and getting ready to do more track driving. I see that you have 2 set of wheels (one set for road I assume, one set with slick tires for track). How do you manage the TPMS system of the GT4 RS ? Can you register 2 set of wheels or do you have to constantly register one over the other ? Can you do the registration by yourself (which tool) ? Or do you simply ignore TPMS for the track-dedicated wheels and do the pressure monitoring manually ? What's your strategy ?
Cool to hear. Your chocolate croissants i think about at least 1x a week. 2 sets of wheels. Ideal would be to have three if you plan to track regularly with 2 of them for use at track. I find myself replacing tires early because they wont make a whole weekend but still have some part of a session left. Also, nails, damage etc loses the weekend for you. TPMS. I don't pay attention to it and monitor it manually. I have an air dump gauge and a Milwaukee battery operated device that fills them as needed in the paddock.
@@ignitionontheleft Thanks for this quick answer. One last question : what pressure do you target when you track the car after they've warmed up ? I was said around 2,2 bars (32 PSI) both rear and front (I have the standard 295/30 zr20 rear & 245/35 zr20 front tires). What's you numbers ?
I am actually shocked that GT4RS prices are so soft, for years cayman fans were crying rivers for a good engine and cars are available. Epic engine, short PDK , unique sound , what else?
The marketing that it has always been inferior to 911. Plus the aesthetic of the 911 is better...my guess is the 4rs will be one to keep for all the reasons mentioned above.
Have you guys had any rubbing on the fender liners with the hoosiers? I too wanted to stay with 20's and Apex told me a 265 would be too tall for the front AND rear. I find this hard to believe if you guys are both running the same set up. They offer a +52 20x9 front, so just a couple mm inwards from stock. The +61 is pretty incredible.
We had to install front camber plates and that allowed the 265 clearance
@@ignitionontheleft Thats what I figured. Thanks!
My one problem with aftermarket lithium batteries is just the reliability. You can get weird electrical issues if they aren't really capable of the amp draw. I've bought two antigravity batteries for my other track cars, and one of them just straight up died after long non-use without being able to jump or recharge. The other one is still going strong. BTW, it's strange to me that they had all that room in the gt3rs compartment to put the pump, but they completely take over your glove box for the centerlock tool and run-flat sealant.
Fair point. The tool and pump are in the frunk area with those iteration.
what is the final decision on the exhaust for the 4RS?
Just have over axle pipes for the time being.
@@ignitionontheleft now JCR has OAP's for 4RS . very pricy though.
That's sick now I just want to get into Porsches now
There will come a time if it hasn't happened already.
"Lithium batteries are inherently unstable and should not exist". - Some scientist.
Seems reputable.
Would be sick next to my Turbo S
Or your turbo s sitting next to it.
Red and Stealth Black is hard to beat
Indeed
991.1 Carrera, Manual is all you need
great driving man! btw which camera are you using for onboards?
Thanks. We use the insta 360 inside and two go pro's outside
2:22 not shabby
There more in it for sure.
Man the gt3rs on the used market is going for 300-700k 😭
You can buy cages that just sit on the tow bar. No need to worry about dragging a trailer behind you
Do share the link
If that’s a real GT2 RS 700hp It’s walking that no problem
Indeed, if driven correctly
My man. A buddy did this with his C7Z to bring his Hoosiers to the track. Worked great.
It seems to be a viable solution
Haha. This is the most 100% commitment thing I’ve seen. I too would be filming if I saw this on the road. Love it!
If you are going to do it, overdo it.
I used to pull a track trailer (tires + tool box) behind my 986S. :) Loved it.
What trailer did you use?
I did the same on a Lotus Exige back in the day. Worked great. Same trailer
You were probably the envy of the paddock...
@@ignitionontheleft Yeah people were shocked. I eventually broke down and bought a trailer when I got stuck in the rain a few times
Great idea and first concept ❤
Glad you think so!
thinking outside the box, I like it. And if it works, it's not dumb.
Seems to work so far...
Fkn great
Ha! Thanks
needs an electric brake bro
I need to figure something out.
Feeding my Porsche addiction

Really tickles the ear drums
Great driving. He should’ve given you the pass sooner
Thanks a lot Hernan
Dude I love the channel :)
Thank you so much man :)
So was this the gt2 ?
I’m in the GT4 RS. GT2 was the first pass 👀
@ignitionontheleft man what a beast cant wait to be able to afford something like that.
@@joaquinsantillan6257 I’m pretty handy with the 991 3RS and I found the 2RS not that much fun. It was a blast in the straights but I always felt that it was pretty obviously trying to kill me a the corners. I was always about a second quicker than my two friends with 2’s at our local track. They were very good drivers. They only kept them for about 18 months before going back to a 991gt3rs and a 992 GT3. More power doesn’t necessarily mean more fun. Just my experience 🇦🇺
@ziggyfreud5357 thats what I try telling my friends who all have or want hellcats there nothing compared to porsche on tracks no matter if the hellcats have a million h.p just different.
@@joaquinsantillan6257 👍🇦🇺🇺🇸
That looks like wicked fun
It’s a great feeling 😁
Looks fun and that’s what it’s all about. Sky looks clear but air and track temperatures makes heaps of difference. Enjoy 🇦🇺
Thanks Ziggy! You’re exactly right!
@@ignitionontheleft Never tried obviously but I think a 992 RS would take some getting used to. Would need to overcome some unintuitive psychological issues I think !
Really insightful video. Please keep making life/business videos please.
accurate af, great video
Hmmm.. 4RS's dropping? It's all relative. What was the sticker price on these cars? Base price is about 145K plus options. So these cars are probably 175-180K sticker cars you are looking at. So at 230K these cars are still being sold way above retail even after they have miles on them. And you can bet they are getting their ADM's back. So yes, not a 100K over but a very nice return. They will continue drop until production stops which is about now. Then they will stay flat for a year or so. They should start the slow increase again 5-8 years later. I am using the 997.2 RS's as a rough guide. By the time they were 10 years old they were 100k over. Whether this is that car or not remains to be seen.
Just like Rolex
Great information a lot of hard work!
I really like the sound of holy v10 and v12
Agreed. Anything naturally aspirated just hits different.
FYI that white one with the red wheels was a total loss.
Thank you.
Jay is a rat
Apparently they're doing the same thing with the GT3RSs. But I'm not sure if it's a dealership thing or coming straight down from corporate
It's a dealership thing. In Europe - you pay msrp
Do the other guys on the video deliberately drive poorly ?
