I think you need to add the String Gauge (16/16L/17/18) into the equation as well, as it could be stiffer once you go up the gauge, and vice versa. Add this to the mix, you can go softer with lower gauge if you are happy with that specific string, or higher gauge for more control and tension maintenance. Personally, I could play with Hyper G on any racket, as long as the gauge and tension are adjusted.. 18x20 - Hyper G 18 - Tension 45-47 16x20 - Hyper G 17 - Tension 48-50 This way I could stay with the string I like, and already know the characteristics, and predictable as well.

Its so much demanding than the Gravity Pro? I am playing with Gravity Pro and i love it... the only 'problem', for me, is for my one handed backhand that is not the best stick, but its not bad at all... considering that the Prestige is 98", i think the backhand would suit better, right?

I walked away from tennis for 26 years after getting burned out competing at a high level. When I came back I returned to the racquet I had played with since 1980, the Prince Original Graphite (I know what you are going to say but I had been sponsored by Prince🤷‍♂️). In attempts to modernize I tried almost 20 different racquets from the usual suspects. None ,ace me feel like switching until I tried the Percept 97. I came back to tennis in January after not playing for over 20 years. I moved up to the advanced class and bought a Babolat Pure Drive 100 strung with Hyper G 120 at 52lbs. I don’t know much about what strings help with forgiveness. I am starting to develop tennis elbow and I’m considering trying different strings/tension on the pure drive or switching rackets all together. I am considering trying out the Wilson Clash.

I’m going to be getting a Blade 98 16x19 and I was thinking about which string I should use in it. I know ALU and Hyper-G would work well in the Blade but I’ve also heard that other strings such as Lynx Tour, Hawk Touch and Tour Bite perform well in the Blade. Do you think those would be good choices as well? My demo had ALU Power in it but I don’t particularly want to use ALU.

I like my V9 blade with a full bed of NRG 17.

Demoing it at the moment, my primary issue, I hate the skinny factory butt on it. Going to thicken it up similar to Wilson and see how it feels.

Intermediary player here. My 16x19 heavy spin style gets fully countered by moonballers who raise their rackets up like a flat frying pan to easily return my loopy balls back. Keep doing that until I lose patience, lose breath, or hit a spinny out wide. Full swings in a 16x19 are great if I restrung my racket less than 2 weeks before the match. However realistically speaking I'm restringing only every 6-12 months, which makes my 16x19 strokes unpredictable. I started training with a Yonex VCPro 97d 18x20 which behaves very well even with year-old stringbed but it is just too heavy (365g) , just caused me a back injury. Im looking into this 18x20 blade as a lighter weight alternative since im not buying a string machine, nor defeating moonballers with ineffective baseline topspin shots.

I tried almost every popular poly string on my ProStaff 97 v10 a few years ago and got so frustrated that there wasn't a single setup that felt right. There's always some glaring flaw. Then someone told me to just do a gut-poly hybrid, I took the hefty price plunge just to see what the fuss is all about and holy shit....! I've never used a different setup on the ProStaff since then.

Lynx Tour you string 4 lbs lower than "normal". then its fine.

One of the best strings out there today is Big Hitter Silver 16/1.30. Great for all 98-105" frames. Was engineered and came on market back in 2003. Power, control, tension maintanence and spin all in one. ALu Power is Quick to go dead. plays excellent 100 min and then down hill quick. and is ceazy expensive.

RPM Blast mains with Head Velocity MLT in crosses (has to be natural colour, black MLT plays much different) is the best hybrid set-up I've tried, used it in Wilson racquets and now the Pure Aero. Perfect spin/power combo for me with good durability compared to other set-ups I've tried

I play with the Radical MP with Orange Lynx Tour 17g @ 48lbs. It’s great but I’m always looking for a bit more power and a bit more spin. Definitely will try caviar in future. Nothing about natural gut except that its expensive. I don't agree it kicks poly ass in all categories by a mile inc tension loss and if you are using half packet which is recommended its not so bad considering the benefits. The main benefit is you won't ever have arm issues like everyone inc young players seem to have these days.

Great content. I'm considering the EZone or the Pure Drive. I've been using a Pure Aero and need something different because my ground strokes are sailing long. My instructor says it's like I'm swinging a rocket launcher. So ... I need something that's more forgiving yet versatile enough to give me a decent serve and volley. Which of these two (EZone or Pure Drive) would be best for me?

in my pure aero vs i am currently playing grapplesnake tour sniper mains with poly tour fire or razor code white in the crosses. I like the snaped vs round slightly stiffer vs softer poly poly hybrid. I found the alu power had nice feel but a little too soft in the pure areo vs also the rpm less consistent somehow

I enjoy the Lynx Tour more than Alu Power funnily enough. Alu Power has too much power in my Spin Effect 18x16.
