Luca, you had me so hyped for a minute!! 😢
I was so hyped for a minute... 🥲
Hey bro, we still waiting for the one-handed back hand Video 😊friendly reminder 😅
Ok fine... I'm doing it 😅
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver BRILLIANT, THANKS! 😎
Count me in.
Thankyou Luca for roasting HEAD 😂 As a die hard Djokovic fan selling his new line with another paint job just pisses me off so bad
I switched to it , sorry for my short period of pride 😂
Hey Luca I watched your Head Boom pro review and was motivated to demo so glad I did I fell in love with the Boom. if not for you I wouldn’t have given the Boom a look Thank you Luca. Ps I love your videos I love how you cover every single detail that the racket has it’s so fascinating
Awesome! So glad it's worked out for you. And thank you very much!
I recently bought a pair of the boom pro of 2022 at a great price, I haven't recieved yet, but I'm super excited to play with them, I can't wait for it. I have a one handed backhand. Right now I play with a blade 93 and a pro stafg 95 100th anniversay, I do have and amazing control and I can generate good power for myself, but not the stronger player so I'm excited to get that extra power on my serve and one handed backhand. What strings do yall recomend, I got them with velocuty 125mm at 54 pounds
I know R&R doesn't carry it, but the Prince Textreme Tour 100P is a bit more user-friendly Speed Pro. I feel like it's much better balanced for faster stokes, which allows for better spin generation. It's not a constant beam, so very slightly more forgiveness and slightly less control.
Your videos quick and to the point and full of useful info... wanted your professional opinion on what racket to get..
I like the all black look on both the Speed Legend MP and the Speed Legend Pro...
was gifting this racket as a surprise to a friend... he used to played d1 college tennis on scholarship when we were younger.. which racket do you think he would like the most..
i dont really play tennis and u seem like a trusted source.. keep the vids coming
thanks in advance
What a disappointing release from Head. Yes, the paint job looks great. Cool enough for me to want one. However, give us a platform stick with baseline specs similar to his actual stick. I get it, most, if not everyone would not play great tennis with his actual spec, including myself. But a decently weighted 98, 18x19, and a thinner constant beam would've been a cool addition to their lineup when combined with Novak's decals. Sigh, maybe we will get one down the line...
No not a 98, a 95 18x19 , but with a more accessable swing weight indeed
@@LarzB The reason I said 98 is that Head still needs the racquet to accessible to as many players as they can. The time and investment that goes into a new racquet release needs to make them money. However, I do agree with you, I would love a 95!
Don't buy into this marketing cash grab... don't fool yourself!
A lot of people who should not play with the 97RF would also buy into a playable 95.
I have 3 different 95's of which all 3 are more accessable than the 97RF:
Dunlop cx200 tour 95 18x20 (the 16x19 would be more accessable, but i have the 18x20)
Yonex Vcore 95 2021 and 2023
These rackets have a wider sweet spot than many 98 inch² rackets, just the mains are shorter and the hoop is rounder. They all 3 have a sweet spot higher in the hoop as well because of it and lower the tension somewhat to get more power and you have a fantastic racket, better than many 98.
Agreed that the platform racket idea would be the perfect tradeoff.
I have weighted up an old radical liquid metal 18x20 to exact Novak spec and for just rallying it just feels amazing. That includes the high swing weight but also the incredibly high twist weight which makes it a super stable monster that if you can get it going whips through the air like... Some really heavy sharp blade on a chain.. haha dunno how to call it. It cuts through the air fast and with heft. Like it is some medieval weapon that's fast and has huge impact.
I would not be able to play a match with it. It's just too much to handle.
And my own custom match racket is 355 gram strung with a swing weight of course to 330
I've done this as well and it was a lot of fun but, like you said, way too much to play competitively.
I just got the black and white version this weekend. I'm really enjoying it. It doesn't feel heavy to swing but that could just be me. Lots and spin also.
Glad you're enjoying it!
I use it as well and I never even thought it was heavy to swing until I saw this video. I’ve got minimal muscle on me as well😭
Woaa 😍😍👌👌🎾🎾 finally !!
edit : 😓 nooo
GLOSS ftw!
Is it that you he's rallying with?
@@RonnieJamesOsbourne no that's Bald Shelton
@@TennCom bald Shelton is such a handsome dude
I’d love to see a comparison between this and the Shift Pro from you.
I tried both and found the shift to be much more user friendly. I think the speed may be better at high-level play, but the shift pro makes playability a bit more accessible across a match.
Great video as always!
Agree with most of that, and I'll definitely look into it!
hey my boy luca im planning to buy this or the old 2022 version, money is not a problem but i just want to know which one is better? i've tested the 2022 and it feels good so maybe 2024 is better?
would love to hear Beckett's opinion, too
great review thanks, better start saving the pennies. Borrowing an old Head Speed pro 360 (think its 2019) and enjoying it, wondering what the difference will be for the 2024 version.?
I was at the event and you have it already 🤣 a little jealous to be honest
That event looked awesome watching your stories.
When you talked about Radical Pro you did not mention any problems with swinging it and it is even a heavier racket.
It feels quite a bit lighter because of the small head size and thinner beam.
Bro I looked at TW yesterday and didn’t see this 😂😂 R&R on top!
Making me sweat that I wasn't supposed to post this 😅
Luca, how would you compare the swing speed and control of the Speed Pro with the Gravity pro? :) Thanks for a great review, as always.
Control-wise, the Gravity Pro has quite a bit more. Swing Speed is similar - both are slow rackets, but the Speed accelerates a little quicker through contact on groundstrokes IMO.
I get the opinion, but… feds racket is hardly impossible to play with… and no way me needs his exact spec… but a 18x19 pro version that’s heavier and or at least set up for further customization is all people want.
Yeah I agree with that...
Tried the old speed pro and really liked it. Thinking of switching but not sure between mp and pro. What about taking the mp and bumping up the weight to 310 with same balance and swing weight. All benefits of pro with spin friendly pattern?
Yes, that's a great idea.
Its a shame it s another 100sq inch racquet... would be cool if they made a 98 with 18 x19 pattern and a 16 x 19 or 16 x 20
Ideally would be a 95 with an 18x19, similar to his actual frame.
yes this is a big fail at worst just deceiving
More spin than the Shift Pro?
No, I always forget about that racket. The Shift has more spin, apologies.
video idea : comparison between Yonex E-Zone v/s Head Boom Pro
Interesting! I'll look into it.
Hey Luca will the store be getting the Percept 100D eventually?
I don't think so, unfortunately.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver Thanks for letting me know. It looks like some Canadian online retailers are finally getting them so was hoping haha
hi...
can i ask a question?
right now i'm currently using Solinco WO 18x20.
i think this racket was great.
but i need a little bit more spin.
with this WO 18X20 kind of control.
What Racket would u reccomend?
thankyou 🙏🏻
Try the Blade 98 v9 16x19!
How you find your grip size?
hey man, great review!!! can you review the vapor 11 mac attack? It genuilly sounds like a different shoe from the regular!
for the uppers.
It is quite different. Much more lockdown and overall just a better shoe. If you can get one, go for it.
Hi Luca What string was used for your play test ?
Head Lynx Tour
Hi Luca,
Do you think upgrading from a speed pro 2023 to this model will bring any noticeable differences ? I'm thinking about Auxetic 2.0, among other things.
Thanks !
Nope! It's the same racket.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver 2023's speed pro raquets got Auxetic and balance of 31,5; while 2024 Pro raquets got Auxetic 2.0 and 31cm balance. That's why asking about any differences in the feeling.
great content. what strings are those?
Thank you! Head Lynx Tour (orange).
Wilson blade 100 v9 review please!
Annoying for some but the paint job is nice and the gloss paint nice for the ohbh. The velvet matted feeling paint feels sticky
Yup...
The 2022 Speed Pro swing weight is lower and it's much more head light than the 2024 model. Thats why I went for 2022 model - the idea is speed - so the 2022 is speed. Much easier to get racket head speed than the radical. Weird upgrade.
Its not much more head light… 2022 is 315 and 2024 is 310
What string should I use for the Wilson blade 98 16x19 v9? (Because I will buy it)
If you want to add a bit of bite go for Toroline Wasabi or Head Lynx Tour.
I think HEAD is fumbling not releasing Novak's signature racquet. Babolat has done it with the Rafa Origin, and Wilson did it with Roger's RF97.
Even if it is not financially suitable, make it a limited release, and if it does start selling well, increase the production numbers slightly for people who want to use Novak's specs.
I wish they had.
How would you compare the speed pro to the tf40 305 18x20?
Two very different rackets. The Speed is a lot slower and also more powerful/spin-friendly whereas the TF40 is much more traditional in its control and response.
So that you choose mp or pro? Thanks .
Personally, I prefer the MP.
can you PLEASE do a video about RESTRING ZERO and SYNC
Ment to ask. What string and tension did you use. Thanks
In this racket, Head Lynx Tour at 52 pounds.
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver ok thanks
Are you having a hit with Beckett from Tenncom?
Yes sir!
Is the speed mp legend the same as the speed mp - just another paintjob?
Essentially, yes.
Make racquets gloss again
😅 Agreed
Head marketing has problems.. they would sell much more with special specs..
Thank you for publishing this obvious scam.
Djokovic´s specs are not off the charts though, I used a Head Ti.fire 18/20 for 20 years. It was considered a 98 (measured outside the frame, so effectively a 95), weighed 363 g and was strung with Babolat Hurricane Pro 1.30 mm at 65 lbs. Not sure what the SW was, but should have been according to the weight.
But at the age of 45 my arm had enough and I had to switch.
Now my racquet weighs 30 g less. I miss the ols times of completely destroying the ball with ease (and admittedly many unforced errors as well).
Atleast it’s glossy
They should have released the same mold Novak actually uses on tour but in a lighter package maybe 300g unstrung and headlight balance. This would have allowed players to customize the racquet if they wish to play with Novak's specks or just play with it stock. The racquet would have been a lot more like his personal racquet. This racquet is not even close to his personal one besides the paint job. 😞
I think this would have been the perfect tradeoff.
hosing Beckett for fun
Average Beckett and Luca hit.
You have to go back to the youtek generation to get a 98 bearing Djokovic's signiture. I do not know how that performed, but Head was LAZY! They deserve a roast on this. I love the Speed Pro and might want one. This is not a frame that deserves a "legend" status.
Sorry, but are you asking people to believe that a paint job affects playability? What are you smoking and can I have some?
It's a Speed Pro, no denying that, but paint has a major effect on feel. This is a tennis racket, at the end of the day, literally any change in anything makes playability different.
He's absolutely right. A racket twists and bends on contact and different materials used for a paint job lets the racket behave differently. You can absolutely feel that. For a professional player the most important thing is that every racket he/she uses plays exactly the same. Pros are so used to their specific rackets that they don't change from a glossy to a matt paint job because it simply doesn't feel the same. You can see that with Zverev's glossy Gravity and Tsitsipas Blade for example.
No interest at all in buying this issue since Djokovic doesn't play a modified/pro stock version of any Speed line racket. When I think of the Speed line, Sinner (not Djokovic) is the player that I associate with that line since he actually plays a modified Speed line frame. Would have rather seen this paint job on a 18X19 SP of the Pro Tour 2.0 since the Pro Tour 2.0 is the HEAD stock racket with specs that most closely align's with Djokovic's actual pro stock racket (except with a more playable swingweight for non-pro players). Could have lived with that & would have picked that one up for sure.
I think that 18x19 Pro Tour 2.0 idea would have been really cool.
Stop it!! He isn’t switching to anything!!!
A racquet with Novaks specs is not playable for any of us (I know it would be a collectors item), but at least make a lighter version of it with same mold, drill patern, head size. This is just a paintjob cash grab.... pathetic!!
head released because novak did not like white 🤣that is basically the only reason
@@servingaces I don't know. Don't think this has something to do with Novak. He can play with whatever he wants his racquet to be. It's a pure marketing paintjob update with no meaning behind it... just a re-skin!
@@hybrid11theory75 No I was at the event and novak talked specifically that he did not like the white because it disturbed him 😂
@@servingaces Interesting. But why they make an official release instead of Novak just using a blacked out frame? Just to cash grab all the fanboys? lol
@@hybrid11theory75 of course
at the end of the it is the best selling racket of head of course 😅 when people buy it why not 🫢
They only make raquets for kids nowadays.
Give me that 18x19!!!
Nahhhhh the name of the racquet is all’ marketing thing . Its no where close to novaks racquets. Come on🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
my rating of this comedic waste of time.... thumbs down.
Please no one buy this. We want his actual racquet.
They should have at least tried to make a 98 speed
They won’t
absolutely, but they won't if I need to be realistic, 98 speed is like 18x19 blade, shame on brands🙃🙃🙃
@@MithTang there are 1619 blade and 1820 blade who create a 1819 blade man lol
@@ruffruff7894 exactly, well, like a 98 speed, neither of 'em exist😮💨
RF01 pro slams speed legend 😂 what’s wrong head?
I am an intermediate player and I got the Speed Pro and I think it is great, I don't feel the SW is too high, just a bit higher than my previous racquet the Babolat Pure Drive, much more controled and enough power, I am quite a strong guy so the weight doesn't feel a lot for me personally just a tiny bit compared to my previous racquet
Great that it's working for you. I think, like you said, being strong in general, helps a lot with this frame.
I think I recognize that hitting partner in the background! 👀
👀👀
Unfortunately it is a still a paintjob of a racquet he never touched. Appreciated your honesty.
Great new channel!! Can you do a battle of the 18x20s? Blade, pure strike, the speed and gravity, plus dunlop cxtour and percept 97d - and rank them best to worst? That video would be wild!!💪💪👍👍
Definitely something I'd like to do! And thank you!
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver yeah!!!Please!
Luca, how does it compare to Prince tour 100p?
I've hit with the textreme tour 100p both 2015 and 2019 version. I would say they play very similar except the textreme has a lower swing weight. Feel wise they are like brothers from another mother lol. The 2015 version and new textreme feel similar to the speed pro 2024 version in terms of flex and feel.
I haven't hit with it, unfortunately.
Have you noticed a 310mm balance?
Measured 10 of the speed pros and they ranged from 323 to 331
Do you (or anyone) have recommended strings for a higher tension setup? Thinking about giving higher tension a try. Not sure if some strings are more suitable for something in the 57+ tension range.
Go for something comfortable. You can try gut as it responds really well to high tension but if you want something more affordable try Poly Tour Pro.
Actually since around 2018 Djokovic's swingweight has been lower, in the 340s. Roman suggested it along with the 18×19 instead of previously using 20 crosses, and Novak loved it right away.
Very interesting. That's significantly lower than the 360 and reported 380+ of previous years but with the game evolving I guess that would make sense.
@RacketsRunnersVancouver yes. Rafa, Zverev are in the 360s it seems still, but not that many nowadays.
Is western grip player suitable for this racket?
Yes, absolutely.
How does it compare to the previous version? For me, the 2022 didn't feel as slow through the air as you describe this one.
It didn't. They've raised the swing weight and that changes things but I would still say it was a pretty sluggish racket.
Man, nobody takes Head seriously anymore.
I don't know about all that...
@@RacketsRunnersVancouver Babolat and Wilson have developed new models specifically for the pros and released them to the public. Head always does something completely custom for the pros.
