It is expensive now, as is any place where folks from high-cost cities moved (with the hedge funds buying blocks of property). Fortunately for some, colleges are more affordable and getting in a good career path (i.e. STEM, business, medicine) can provide a livable wage. Even trades like electricians, plumbers, technicians provide livable wages. Pushing carts or flipping burgers, not so much (which is what I did as a student/high-schooler).

Wow this was a ridiculously great video. I’m in Altamonte myself. I’m glad they’re playing lake Eola, but surprised they’re trying to make it luxury when there’s a great deal of homeless ppl but it is what it is. I agree with one commenter Orlando is NOT a foodie town. I live in Seminole but it’s in Orange county’s best interest to eat the penny tax to improve living conditions lol.

The 1912 Titanic wouldn’t sink where it sunk in 2024 because there’s no more icebergs there like there was in 1912. It’s all smooth sailing. My point: ice/bergs melt in warm water. Florida is lucky if it’s 10 feet above sea level at its highest point, so when the remaining ice the world still has breaks free and starts racing to find its level like water does, the entire state of Florida will be over 200 feet underwater! If you leave you’re smart, if you stay PAY THE PRICE.

lol what good things have you heard about our airport? it's easily one of the worst in the country. good luck landing at MCO and not having to wait 2 hours on the tarmac to get a gate. good luck with delays and inefficiencies. it doesn't even have tarmac buses to shift people between gates like most other airports. MCO is quite literally terrible. a nightmare.

I live in Orlando and it should not be named the best foodie city in America, a lot of food spots here are rated high because of how the food is presented, not the taste. I’ve talked to many people who were shocked because they felt the same way. There are great food spots here, but don’t be fooled

Wash rinse repeat with any growing city. There are tons of cities going through these same issues. People in Atlanta say the same thing. People migrate to get away from major metros over time. I lived in nyc my whole life so orlando is a slice of heaven to me. For those folks that have lived here and complain go move to Boise or something. Idk what else to tell you. Lol

Sunrail is a sham that works at the times no one uses them. I-4 seems to have more and more exits and entrances when in reality we should be limiting the access to the highway. The infrastructure needs to change but also the way we use the infrastructure needs to change.

Where you work is a personal choice; you don’t get to complain later. One of my best friends is a security guard at Disney, and he’s ALWAYS complaining about the pay and how he doesn’t get promoted. And this guy has a degree, and when I ask him if he’s been applying elsewhere, the answer is… no These companies also have administrative jobs, cybersecurity, risk management, accounting, logistics, etc. So it’s up to the individual to develop themselves to better their situations. You learn this concept the older you get.

I miss Orlando, I’m born in Puerto Rico and at age 6 1998 I moved there. I love Orlando but it’s changing and it’s getting a little bit worse tbh, each day. And it’s true jobs out there don’t pay enough for the living environment. I lived in Boston , and went back to Orlando and I also moved to NYC about a year ago and comparing, I just miss it. My heart will always go to the city beautiful at the end of the day. Just gotta put the work in if you’re thinking about moving there. I just think it’s a disadvantage that there is barely any jobs , or at least any good paying jobs in Orlando. I’m planning to move back in the near future with the job I’m currently working with and transfer. 🎉❤

I hope Orlando Florida floods with the next super storm this year and everyone who ain’t from here, moves!!!. This place was paradise. Fishing 🎣 Hunting 🐗, and boating 🚤. Now we got a bunch of pansies floating around at Disney World, our Lakes, rivers, and beaches. Not to mention you can’t get anywhere now without it taking you 30 to 45 minutes minimum. If you weren’t here, when they was cow pastures and cowboys, you don’t belong. There I said it, long live Floridians with no flip-flops and a tank top🇺🇸 I’m not to worry Ron DeSantis is going to close the border very soon.

Dont let anyone fool you, Orlando has almost no good jobs. The market is brutal here for "skilled" work. The place has tons of amenities, food to eat, things to do but the job market is horrible. I gave up trying to work here and just went remote and thankfully was able to find something along with my wife who also works remote. We would probably have sold our place and moved if not for remote work.

Born and raised in Orlando. I wouldn't want to raise my kids there. The 90s were a great time. It doesn't feel like home or anything else anymore. Downtown Orlando was a great place to walk and visit when I was a kid. It's just a hollowed out shell now.
