Thanks for the content. Great information. LP is the best neighborhood in lake Nona that blue collar workers still have an opportunity to buy into. Best bang for your buck. Maybe in the future do other neighborhoods like Waterford lakes Oviedo Hunter creek (old winter garden) dr Phillips sodo/conway longwood lake Mary. Older neighborhoods that are established would definitely help everyone with information. Anywhere in central Florida has pro and cons. Just have to find the best one for your budget.

I lived in Lake Nona from 2005 - 2022. This is a fairytale view of the area. I have two kids on the spectrum. She said she has at least one kid that's neurodivergent. Why would you leave Mass, arguably one of the best US states in terms of support for that to move to one of the worst? My kids went to Lake Nona MS and LNHS. They did not support them at all. We had to fight to get their IEP followed. Also, the traffic there is insane and getting worse. When we moved to Eagle Creek in 2012 it took 5-7min to get from our house to the 417. When we left in 2022 it took 15-20min almost any time of day. The area is overbuilt, overprices, and Tavistock has failed to deliver on almost any of its stated plans.

Sorry your kids didn’t get the support they needed truly. Hopefully wherever you are now those needs are being met.
It’s interesting, to me atleast that someone’s real life experience is viewed as a “fairytale”, but the ones in a more negative light should be viewed as the “real” experience.
I just see it as two people having two different experiences without having to label it. Either way, appreciate you sharing.

@@OrlandowithMario Don't get me wrong. There were times when individuals stepped up and really helped but then the next year those people might move to another school. That's the nature of support in Orange Co. I really hope they continue to get support because it can get bad otherwise.
The fairytale part I was referring to was the perception of Lake Nona. There is a lot of hype that keeps that going. We felt the same way for the first few years there until we saw that all the things promised were never delivered. I'm sure she truly feels that way about LP. They are still in the honeymoon phase where everything is great.
Did you know that Tavistock said that they were going to build an equestrian center where The Enclave at Village Walk resides? This among other things (like the movie theater, shops, and bowling alley) were never built. Eventually you realize that that's their MO. They have consistently run off mom and pop restaurants due to their high lease costs. Were you aware that Chroma, Canvas, and all of Boxi Park are Tavistock restaurants?
To be clear, Lake Nona is not a horrible place. It's just vastly over-rated for what it is. I wish everyone there the best but it's going to get worse once Sunbridge and EverBe really gets rolling.

They've failed on a lot for sure, hopefully they get it right. High lease cost is really what hurts the mom and pops you hit that head on, just like everything else in corporate business its about the bottom line.
Hopefully they make good in some other ways.

This is a fairytale view of Orlando. It's not safe to let your kids ride around on their own just because you think it looks safe and friendly. I am an adult and was almost kidnapped 2 years ago. Keep your children close. Orlando is huge for human trafficking. And lake Nona is terrible, it's where I live, it's way overpriced and over populated and they just keep adding more. There is one road in and out. There is one Walmart. Everybody moving to Orlando has made it a heinous place to live. Some of us are from here and our families have been here for generations and we lived in our grandmother's homes like her, just down here in Florida. People who were born here are being priced out because rich people like this come down here. I literally don't know what to do because I can't afford it. It's like my hometown is gone. I wish people would start businesses and create fun places to go back wherever they are from. You don't have to move away and make believe you are on vacation everyday. Invest in the communities you are from by starting businesses or running for local office. Form the community with those around you and make it how you want it to be. Run for office and get your sidewalks and get the city to open a park. Your grass would be greener if you water it.
Also schools are not good just because they are new, it's all the same county and the same curriculum and the same teachers circulating through the school system. It's literally just a newer building.

This is a Realtor promotion not a genuine feedback. That you will meet your neighbor? Super False. Drive around at any time and everybody is inside their homes. You see front porch outside always empty. No one is outside like that. Do the walk in LP and see if people strike a convo with you. Nope.
Also notice her story on how it’s family centric. She barely mentions any experience dealing with new people she’s met. Another words everything she speaks of is just family. Nothing about the people in the neighborhood.
Her husband had to unload the truck on his own. She said it. This means the people are not engaging with one another. Everybody is from somewhere else. This means it lacks culture as it’s all mixed from different areas.
Boxi park once you go twice it gets played out. Because it lacks diversity and culture.
Due to the Vet Hospital there are tons and tons of Veterans in the neighborhood.
A huge project was promised then Covid hit, Disney was about to come here, movie theaters were promised. Rather than Wholefoods we got Bravo supermarket, this means it’s getting flooded by Hispanics. Too many franchises, fast foods, unhealthy food choices.
The cows are malnourished and super skinny. Makes you feel bad looking at them.
The neighborhood is hyper focused on kids and not mom and dads. Meaning not enough Date options unless you feel Olive Garden (again a franchise) is an option.
If you’re from Miami, this is becoming Doral. You’re under the mercy of Narcossee Rd for the highway on just one side. The other side is heading to ST Cloud and that’s just a nightmare to drive to since there is no highway in St Cloud.
Long story short. It’s a Volume community. Many cookie cutter houses that all look the same with a different set of paint. They are pushing ALOT of condominiums. This means massive massive traffic as they are trying to crunch as many people as possible.
Dr Phillips and Winter Park focuses more on a unique and higher quality living experience. Look at the vendors and places to eat.
The worst investment this town has added was the Beep bus. It just makes no sense. They have a restaurant at the wave with a AI autonomous movement, pointless.
We do have a Bruce Wayne in LP. His name is Mr Tavistock. He’s the one who built that boxi park experience. But after Covid, not sure what’s happened to him. We need more culture and higher end venues. Less franchises. More local business owners. No more dentist offices. No more places that sell bootleg Cuban sandwiches.
The only time LP gets to meet each other as a whole, is on Halloween.

I know you go around on every Lake Nona related video to bash the area which is fine, do with your time as you wish.
Only thing I'll clarify for sake of anyone who sees your comment is the fact that "this is some undercover promotion, not genuine feedback"; this whole podcast series is geared towards hearing perspectives other than my own. I'll have my clients on, local influencers as well as local business owners telling their perspective of the respective areas they call home.
NOTHING is rehearsed, I'm not telling them what to say lol, it's just them telling their experiences as they see fit.
Hopefully you are content with wherever you live :)

Showed homes in Clermont today, mostly new though. It just like all areas has its pros and cons.
Have a podcast up with someone who made the move there as well incase you haven’t seen it.
