Thanks for this informative video Steven. Your advice is invaluable for anyone competing in Hyrox.
Thanks Trevor, hope your HYROX race went well!
Fantastic information. Thanks for sharing such valuable content. 🙌🏻
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it
Good
Thanks!
One of the smartest guys out there. Really cares about his clients. I am a 60 year old in the US training for a Hyrox race. The time Stephen has spent customizing a program for my abilities and my limitations has been amazing. Highly recommend.
Thanks jake, always a pleasure working with you
Thank you for these! I've got my first Hyrox coming up in April.
My pleasure, all the best in April!
This is such fantastic content
Glad you enjoy it! Make sure you subscribe to the channel, they'll be a lot more content coming this year
Just finished Manchester at weekend but body feels broken (50/54)age would you recommend totally resting or light weights zone 2 stuff😊
Great work! How did you get on? Spend the week doing some easy work as you said, lots of mobility, walking and general recovery work such as swimming, cycling and of course good nutrition and sleep.
Great one!🙌🏼
Thanks for watching, I hope some of your training and programming I give you makes more sense now
Great video. Thank you for explaining this to us, I feel like my IQ went up a few points thanks to you. :)
haha great! Glad you enjoyed this one
Can you recommend some books or articles on this?
One of the best books is called Developing Endurance, published by Human Kinetics.
@@stevencollinstraining awesome, appreciate it.
I’m preparing for my first hyrox. I’ve watched many videos, but this is the best one I’ve seen. I know this is going to be extremely helpful. Thank you for taking the time to make this!
Thanks
80 minutes burpee broad jumps wtf
So much info 👍I have to pause each time to absorb it! Very Good and now I have to practice 💪
Thanks for watching
Hey everyone, thanks for entering and commenting. @donnamoore4423 congrats, you are the winner. Drop me an email and I will send over the 6 week conditioning plan :D steven@stevencollinstraining.com
Amazing tips! ❤
Thanks for watching
Hi, in your opinion what type of surface (synthetic grass, non-slip carpet, etc.) is most similar to the surface found in competition. I'm not sure what surface to choose for my sled training. Thanks, bye
It's more of a carpet surface. I wouldn't worry too much on what you are training on. Focus on getting those legs as strong as possible and the upper body upper comfortable for pulling and holding the rope.
@@stevencollinstraining 👍 thanks
This is great! I’m participating this year in about 6 months. Is there an exercise chart you have made while competing? Daily / weekly and targets etc
I haven't no, but you want to squat, bench, deadlift and pull 1-2 times per week each. hit single leg 1-2 times per week and the posterior chain once also
This has lots of useful information, thanks so much. I am due to take part in the upcoming world championships and qualified through the open route... therefor it will be pro weights for the first time. Would you have any advice for a lighter athelete such as myself, im 65kg and had no problem with the open pull, completing in a time of 3:20... this however is hands down the biggest challenge using the 150+kg weight going off my experiences at this weight so far, do you tgink i need to gain weight for example? Thanks in advance for your help
Gaining weight would certainly help but this should be the product of getting really strong and powerful, so that you basically have some functional mass and muscle. Worlds not too far away now, focus on practice practice practice and after worlds spend the rest of the year getting real strong and powerful. All the best with your comps mate
@stevencollinstraining thanks so much
I had a superb consultation session with Steven on Friday - I can't speak highly enough of his care, attention and tailor made approach.
Thanks Trevor

Thanks Trevor, pleasure meeting you and thanks for the great feedback. I hope your comp went well!
So clear! Thank you!
@@kuohung9546 thanks for watching
Nice one mate, aiming to podium age cat…will see how tomo goes with no coach/training plan yet
Did you get a podium?
By far the best video I've seen on this topic - and (as a hip-dominant runner with limited ankle dorsiflexion) I've watched a lot of them. Thanks for going into this detail, it gives me a great picture of what to work on from here.
Really glad it helped, thanks for watching. More videos coming 2025!
I qualified for worlds and really want to put on a show on the day! I'd love to get your plan to help me take things up a notch!!
How's the training going so far for worlds!?
@@stevencollinstraining struggling a bit to be honest. I am travelling for five months (until the end of June) around South-East Asia and North America and its really difficult to find gyms with the equipment I need. Sometimes there's not even a treadmill! I am competing in Taipei in April, hopefully I will manage to use a skierg or a sled a couple of times before then LOL
Great unique tips! I'd be interested in your training plan!
Thanks for the comment, appreciate you watching.
Good stuff
New to the channel. As a 55 year old newbie, very excited to start training. A training plan would be amazing!
congrats, you are the winner. Drop me an email and I will send over the 6-week conditioning plan ! Email: steven@stevencollinstraining.com
Plan for Hyrox Mcr in Jan would be lovely! Top vids, enjoy the science based tips cheers
Free Plan please🎉🎉🎉😄😆
Again, packed with legit info...no junk in your videos, much appreciated. 👌
you are talking too much
💪💪💪💪💪 Brilliant video
Great video, as usual 👍
Thanks excellent loved the info
Excellent video as usual
❤ boom
It is wrong to claim 75% comes from lower body movements if the thrower is not a tall guy
That’s a great point. Although I’d say in general it would still be a greater % of the lower body contributing regardless of height, in fact maybe even more lower body!
Thanks for the tips
No problem! Thanks for watching
What about the angle of torso and hand placement? I think you’re a little high and angled? Why not get lower and more horizontal? I thought that what this video was about
Great video, well explained, good tips, quick, concise and engaging! Thank you for posting. I don't comment on videos but worth leaving a comment to say I watched in entirety without skipping
Thank you for watching and leaving the comment! I appreciate the feedback too :)
Fantastic video 🙏
Thankf for supporting the channel and watching
Thanks, very informative,I will put this into practice 😊
Thanks for watching! More coming from me and the channel so stay tuned in 💪🏼
My tip: practice with heavier weight than the comp’s. 😉
Haha I get my clients doing this too!
@stevencollinstraining big is good always feel better and the ball feels lighter now love it.
