So much great information in here - thank you. Im in the “my lower back is too weak/sore for deadlift” camp, so (a) loved the way you called people out on that and then (b) showed us ways to ease into it. Great stuff. Thanks.
I was looking for good Hyrox training videos and I can't believe I landed on this video and channel. This is by far the best and the most exhaustive vids I've found. I'm at least a year away from trying Hyrox but this gives me a great list to note down and add to my training plan.
I’m a fitness coach and been training for quite a while, this is great insight and reasoning behind each exercise, you know your stuff, thank you for this.
Thx for this video Steve, just entered hyrox comp in Glasgow in March, had first set back, 2 blood clots in the my lungs, lots of rest and then ease back into training
Thanks for watching! Hyrox is a new hybrid style fitness competition going global currently! If you like running, pushing and pulling heavy things and just hard horrible work - then it’s for you 😁
Loving the videos. Would you be able to consider the perfect Hyrox race warm up.? although all warm ups are personal specific I thought you maybe able to help in prepping all muscle groups in a short masterclass
Steve, great video, something for me to work towards exercises look good which i will do in my next year training towards Hyrox 2025. I will be 60 so its my goal thankyou
Sure can, it's a great substitution for anyone who struggles with lower back stress/pain however, it will load those quadriceps more, so if you are doing a trap bar instead - make sure the remaining workout and weekly program targets the posterior chain too; good mornings, hip/glute bridges, back extensions, etc...This will help keep your lower body workouts balanced and help strengthen the lower back
Thanks for watching. The triceps aren’t the primary muscle that will pull the skierg but they are a still a big contributor so your leaving money on the table not focusing on them especially via shoulder extension
Why not just practice doing the actual exercises or are these in addition to that? My gym has a sled, a skierg, sand bags, etc. I can do it all at my gym.
In addition to the main exercises. Generally, to improve each exercise it will mean having to either develop overall absolute and relative strength, strength endurance and technique, training just the actual exercises is not going to help develop all of these qualities.
Brilliant info.. I'm a physio with 30 years doing exercises to prevent injury...You definitely hit ever aspect of injury prevention great job....
Thanks so much for watching. Glad it aligns with your practice and experience!

Glad it helped
Great video, thanks for posting. Some really excellent suggestions! Personally I’d steer clear of barbell snatch / clean without coaching.
The snatch and cleans certainly need some practice for sure.
Well done on a clear and concise video… loving the Charles Poliquin shout out - legend.
Thanks very much, hopefully my editing skills improve lol can't forget CP, he taught me a lot of what I know today.
Really usefull video, thanks!
Thanks for watching and glad you found it helpful 👊

Where did you get those chain/straps you’re doing the deadlifts from?
They are from rogue. Check them out here:

Needed this! Thanks! 💪🏽🔥
Thanks for taking the time to watch 👊🏼

Thanks for watching! These exercises will do you wonders especially at 60 years young. Enjoy and all the best 💪🏼
Thanks 🎊
Pleasure 💪🏼
thank youuu
You're welcome!
Could you do a video on how to fit this all in a training spilt for the week?
For sure yeah! I will start working on this so stay tuned
could you swap the deadlift to a trap bar deadlift? Great video thanks!

Brilliant
🙏🏼
good video.
using the tricep with the skierg is pointless though, the power comes from your body weight at the top of the stroke
Thanks for watching. The triceps aren’t the primary muscle that will pull the skierg but they are a still a big contributor so your leaving money on the table not focusing on them especially via shoulder extension
Love it, but that wasn't a triceps dip. That was a chest dip.
Same same but different, these small differences do not matter much when strength training. We are focusing on strength, power and endurance transfer
Alright, i only have to work more on my cardio and runnings 😂😂😂
haha yes!

@stevencollinstraining Do you have any suggestions on how to structure your training program?
