  • In this video I take you along for a 1-2-1 personal training session with a long-term client of mine, Jodi. Jodi, who is a 47 year old woman and mother of two, has been training with me for a number of years now, wheres she's mainly focused on losing weight, building strength, and staying in shape.
    Over the years, I've taught her what health really is - it's not only losing body fat, but a lot of it is how you view your lifestyle. Now she has an understanding of you can come in, sweat and work hard, but it's not just about that - it's about your sleep, nutrition, recovery and training smart, it's about building good techniques when you train.
    Jodi has come a long way - she technically moves very, very well. Mainly because she trusted the process from the very start, and she allowed us to take one step back and go over simple techniques and develop them to where she is now. For her, it's about consistency, training really hard and focusing on all those other factors.
    Today's program was focused on volume, and it was more of a fat loss workout where the goal was to lift heavy weights, but also lift some lighter weights and get some cardiovascular work in there. It's what I call a death circuit - you might've heard of that before. It's multiple, big compound movement patterns put together with short rest periods just to smash the client to pieces in a smart and strategic way.
