How to enunciate wit flageolet?😭
Wow that was amazing How does Brian Johnston do it ?
Alright, this is sort of enlightening. I hold a medium-high note and close the mouth... I can feel the other mechanisms compensating, IE it moves sort of up and into the nose. Thing is, I had my doubts about whether this could be mixed voice, because I've been singing with this configuration and still feeling too weighty, unreliable, fatiguing, etc. So if this by definition must be mixed voice, why am I still getting the symptoms and some of the sound of pulled chest when I sing words in it?
I'd hate to be this guy's neighbor. Hopefully he's in a house and not an apartment.... Add the dog that likes to join in.
Hello Greg, just wanna drop one question: as you said, creak always adds restrain, however you seem to be able to thin out the voice without restraining it. Is that really so, or the creak tension is so slight that I couldn't hear it? Thanks.
Man when you said make you falsetto clear I been singing like this already lol I had no idea I could make it breathy
55:54 - the key to low volume.
Years ago I was listening to the great Dr. John. I began to imagine what he must have been feeling like in that moment. Not just emotionally but physically as well. Like what is his voice telling me about his body and movements. I started to sing while maintaining this connection. My voice transformed. From the next room my then girlfriend exclaimed "What the f@ck are you doing?! You sound exactly like Dr. John!" Thanks for giving a term to that experience!
so true with the opening of the month, and after yesterdays 1 hour practics, now my face muscle aches....
lol, your dog hhhhhh
What vocal technique does Michael Jackson use when he sings as loud as in "Can you feel it" and is that bad for the vocal cords?
This is how I’ve been teaching myself to sing, by mimicking Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell.
Six minutes and eighteen seconds into this video and got absolutely nothing from this title. I will not continue watching and wasting my time. Change the title to: "I will steal your time under false pretenses."
Your belt is so good!!!
so good! WOW!
Best video on flageolet ever
Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. You suck.
I sang that A so easy following your lead. I trusted I would based on your explanations, but also it’s still such a surprise. I’ve never sung one so fully!
You're awesome, I've been watching your videos for a while now. I started singing lessons this year and I've been struggling with mix voice, and you've given me so many tools and things to work on, your videos have kept super excited and motivated to continue learning. Thank you very much for putting all this information out there for free, I owe most of my progress to you, you have a way of explaining that just clicks for me. Feeling sometimes like I'm stuck and not making progress, I just watch your videos and suddenly everything makes sense. You haven't uploaded for a while now, but I hope you are doing amazing! ♥ (sorry if my english isn't great, not my first language)
Great video Greg ,I wish I can start studying with you again! Miss it so much.
I don’t even sing - I’m just watching this video because I feel like I’ll need it in the future 😭
Marvellous, best vocal video I've seen in a long time ❤
U said check it out here but it’s not there. Thank you
Hey Gregory, Short and sweet question: Do you know about laryngeal spasms or any exercise to release… I’m a singer, but also have experienced stress which has effected my voice/ throat muscles (undiagnosed) not looking for medical advice just the question ref spasms and any tips…. Really enjoy both you and Antonio chatting…new sub 👍🏻
Show people in a song. Making all these noises doesn’t really do much. If you find a song to have people practice with it would be better applied.
I wonder how Terry Fator manage to sing without damaging his voice. He sings better as a ventriloquist than many ordinary singers.
As a bass e4 is a high belt
Meanwhile I am on a stage singing a song pressing my stomach like this.
So it's not natural, and more like intentional?
I didn’t know what was belting. Now at least I know I don’t know.
So you need a column of air pressure with open vowels. Got it
I really, really appreciate you doing the whole exercise with us. I don’t watch so many people because they don’t do that. It’s not to be mean, I just can’t do it when I have to do it with piano only. I need to hear what the person sounds like to do it right for awhile.
Dude... I think you just gave me the key to fixing my tone. Where the hell did you find that information about the back of the vocal folds not closing?
Hi
13:30, 19:02
I once lost my voice due to overuse, it was strange experience. Sorry this a bit unrelated. I was in basic training and we did a lot of cadences and i was sound off toneach one right up until i lost my voice.. oops.
Whitney's voice is one of the best
Guuuuuaaaa!!!! What a great video, you took us step by step… Thanks
2:17 hits pinky toe on a corner
Hey! Thanks for the great video! What software are you using for analyzing the resonance of your voice?
I love this! You're a professional 💪
It's helpfull thank u
Great video. The samples from the singers were very helpful. Does Mixed Voice equal the reduced Modes (reduced Overdrive/ reduced Edge) in CVT terminology?
A baritone can't be a ,,true" tenor, if a baritone have luck he can be a baritone with tenor high notes but that ain't the same.
A prime example of belting is the singing of skin of skunk anansie
Wish I could have heard a real example in a song of him belting
Ok but are you single??? Because I think we could be vocal pedagogy soulmates!
Sorry guys who can help me - what is the song ( and singer ) of the first example of belting 2:09 - he is sooo good. Please help 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
bro figured out the mystery recipe
That is exactly how I found out that I could sing a lot higher I was thinking. I always had a neck tension problem while belting that prevented me accessing the higher belting range. I didn’t know how to solve it and my singing teachers always told me that was my limit. On my own by experimenting I found this way to access higher notes with less tension. Good job guys, I am a fan!
Sounds like an idling 3 cylinder engine
