@@Everything-mh4bp Hi, sadly nope. None of Greg's videos work for my current brain, and understanding. But I of course am happy for all the others that they work for. And I still believe in I think something Greg has said publicly, but I am not 100 percent if it was said publicly. Thanks for noticing my comment and commenting yourself.
I find that I can hit notes really easily across my range with out any kind of tension however, I've been finding that the quality of my sound or tone is still not that great when it comes to singing in practice (E4 and above). After following along with all the exercises in this video I'm finding that my singing is some of the best its been. There's still consistency issues and I find that warm-up is an absolute must for making sure my mix has SOME body at all, otherwise it's just too airy and is like a semi falsetto almost. Been practicing almost a year now, going from just chest voice and falsetto with no connection to here has been a really awesome experience just seeing the progress that's been made. I don't plan on stopping til I'm at a really really high level and can sing whatever song I want to.
Just finished my night vocal practice... Your Hold method with open throat and slight twang helps a lot... Plus i had real difficulty vibrato in High range... But hold method helps a lot in it ... I don't fully understand how but it does... So thanks 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 I'll forever be thankful to you And one more stuff... I can put better presence/fullness in my voice... If i imagine the vowels in my language ( which is 12 vowels ) beforehand... And decide the volume before i execute note...

Hello Gregory, this is great stuff thx also Kobi for sharing! I watch it last night i liked an exercise that i try to do. but i cant find it right now even if all the video is marked :D the exercise was like a pause while vocalizing to fry falloff then revocalizing from there. I dont know if it makes any sense to you but i will appreciate if you help me with this. thx in advance.
I'll definitely be watching this the whole way through tomorrow. I don't see this guy or almost anyone else struggling with the same problem I have, but how should I mix without twang? I started using it automatically when I started to learn how to mix at first without knowing what it was, and now I can't mix without using at least a little bit of twang.
@@StudioWestLessons Yeah I guess so. I think the twang sound is fine for a lot of rock songs I sing but for pop I'd like to have a more free feeling mix. Currently, it's very easy to tell when I'm mixing because my singing has that twangy edge to it. I can't get past D4 without flipping into falsetto without twang. Do I still just need to strenghten my headvoice more to be able to blend more easily?
@@StudioWestLessons I have seen both of those a few months ago. I haven't tried implementing flag tension consciously at least yet. My guess is that I might be doing a little bit of flag tension but I still have a lot of twang in the sound when I enter G4 and above. Will I be able to have a more free feeling mix if keep strenghtening my headvoice? I've been trying to experiment mixing with wider mouth positions (without yelling) because I feel like there the line between a mix and headvoice becomes more blurred leading to a freer or "easier" sounding mix than if I use a lot of twang to get up.
@@StudioWestLessons Ohh I see. I'll definitely rewatch the falsetto mix video now. My headvoice is still in it's early stages but currently I'm doing The Aussie Vocal coach's headvoice workout N.1 (around 15 minutes) daily and also one of Ken Tamplin's 5 minute headvoice workout daily. I'm also doing other daily exercises but those are the ones that target headvoice. Thanks for the help!
@@StudioWestLessons I watched through the falsetto mix video again. Is falsetto mix the same as what some other people would call a heady mix or a head dominant mix? It kinda sounded like that to me

Muh gave me great technique. I'm glad my coach gave me that exercise. I guess these exercises tribute to what you want /who you want to sound like. He just said do that 3000 times and it freakin' worked! I was so surprised. It helped my head voice out gave me a good split in resonance. I'm still practicing it as well but over songs so I can get them into muscle memory as well. I am also doing singing success 360 on top of all of it. Wax on, wax off.
What happens if u drag vocal fry to higher range? Maybe will make vocal folds tired because of the activation of new muscles? Maybe will make the false vocal folds get it the way of the sound? And then difficult to spread and relax from the pure sound? Do u think u can do high range vocal fry without getting tired with easy practice medium or high?
Hey, Chris. I had ever seem you from someone else's video, and just thought about asking you for the pravite teaching stuff or something like that, but I went to your website, there was NOTHING there, then… what am I supposed to do so that I have your lessons? Great... This is exactly what is happening in my voice now after finding my mix few weeks ago😅. Thank you so much, this was really helpful. How long does it take to get the mix at this stage to become reliable and more sing able? Update I can sing an ee and ou in mix without the quivering or cracking and with vibrato too, and I can sing some lyrics too but then they are still not as clear as they should. However, it gets a bit shaky below E4 and feels comfortable very comfortable at an A4/A#4. It's starts to get uncomfortable around B4/C5 so I can't sustain on those notes. PS :I can sustain the notes below E4 with a vibrato but with lyrics, that's when they tend to be a bit shaky. In terms of weight, it sounds chesty but I would like to work towards more of a lighter mix, any tips?
@@StudioWestLessons I do see progress every week as it gets a bit easier to sing the lyrics of a song in the mix coordination. Thank you very much please 😊
I'm pretty sure you already know this, but i'll point it out anyway. Regarding a healthy vocal technique, people who describe it as unhealthy maybe don't necessarily imply a damage on the vocal folds in the short term, but rather in the long term, like 10 to 15 years. I totally understand your point about "it not making one feels hurt or uncomfortable with the technique employed" because one should care first about the voice feeling good rather than sounding good. What are your thoughts about this?
Achieving good vocal balance at the second passaggio (F#4 to a B4), it's a fuckin nightmare...and is physiologically explainable...I'll not dare trying to explain that shit lol...but I know it's a thing

@@StudioWestLessons I don't know how to explain it to you precisely right, especially in "good english" lol...but very poorly speaking, this particular "issue", must be worked in a meticulous muscular balance...both ear and sensational wise...like you said before, you don't necessarily need to know to make it work, but (for me), it's interesting knowing what the F is going on there 😄
@@StudioWestLessons if would guess...is because you need to maintain the stretching of the chords firmly working, and it can't happen with a lot of subglottal air pressure..but there's a catch...and that my friend is a motherfuck#$ lol...ok, we all know it will not happen if you blow a ton of air like there is no tomorrow right ?..but you cannot drop the air column either, wich must be consistant and kind of "tight"...in order to provide the necessary support for the passsagio notes...and everything must be opened back there...in short, it's a fuckin bitch trying to do that shit...chairs have been flying around my studio at least three times a week 😂😂😂
