How I Locate Deer on Flat Land for Deer Hunting Public Properties
My background is mainly trapping and your tip is what I always look for too. It is key.
Great video! Gave me some solid pointers for my own setup!
Laguna LT $45. Got some fish. That's all I need
Great video. Very informative. Thank you.
Man U talking bout a bobber when I caught trout on a big bobber and minnows and worms a bobber would work
Here in the Midwest we're not accustomed to hauling big game on foot or small boats. My best advice for getting a deer out on a Kayak is to simply quarter the animal and put it in your pack on the kayak. If you know how to do this not only is it simply easy and simple, but it also saves work. You can quarter the deer without gutting it. (Watch someone do it with an elk or moose and the principle is the same.) Take the quatres, head, and put the backstraps, rib and neck meat in some zip locks in your backpack. You should end up leaving a clean, headless skeleton with an internal gut pile. It's quick, cuts the haul weight of the deer in half, and you can stop and have a nice lunch of fire cooked backstraps. Why only Alaskan and western Elk / moose hunters do this I'll never know. Ever since I learned it I have only brought home one whole deer. Everything else I quarter out and pack it. Now part of the reason I do this is because of my back. I just don't want the pain for two weeks from throwing my back out trying to horse haul some buck up and down trails. learn how to quarter up a whitetail, trust me your back with thank you.
How does blade spin when u cast upstream is it due to such a slack current
Could have used the material list at the end and show us how to build it
I have the same boat. Love it. Paddle with a kayak paddle. Recently added a nice motor mount and a 30lb MinnKota. Added an anchor trolley, rod holder and depth finder. Nice.
What about using u bolts for connecting the wood to the cross brace?
One of the best reels i got is a Shimano Baitrunner St 2500. I used it for around 5 to 6 years, never cleaned it, the reel handeled fish up to 40 lbs without breaking a sweat and is still as smooth as the day I got it. For spinning reels I prefer Daiwa by a hair, got a Ninja and it is a really nice reel as well.
ha... the shimano 2500 baitrunner is hard to find... I have one.. also 3500 and 4500 superb reels
Cory I have experience with that set up . The motor tilt is in lock position , get a length of paracord to tie the lock lever back to the shaft in the case you hit something hard it won’t break your mount or maybe the tilt lock , fix a knot that you can pull the tag end to release it , add another battery for weight distribution and in the case you may run the battery down you will have one to get back home , looking good and I would like to see ya wearing your life vest
Need to share this vid with my CNR friends who give me mean mugs everytime I wanna keep a bass. Bass for dinner = happy wife! 😂
Hi. what kind of rapala are you using? Thanks
Did you have annoying steering issues with a rear setup? I am switching to a bow mounted one since it’ll track better for my Bote zeppelin kayak.
Shorten the shaft for more comfortable ride😊
Perfect video very well explained I have same set up right across street from my house stream or creek this helps a lot cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
I have watched a ton I mean a ton of kayak mod videos. My opinion yours has made the most sense because of the basic kayak which probably meets most people who are watching this type of videos. Thank you for what you do, I have subscribed and look forward to other videos.
good stuff...I've done some similar things with mine. I will say, the cup holder on the track mount is a must have. Mine has a slot on side for phone but I don't use it for that...I slide pliers and some times scissors in there. Cup holder big enough for a nice size yeti mug for coffee in AM or for some other cold drink in an insulated holder. If I'm fishing and it cool out and no drink is needed, I can toss lures in there. I used pool noodles under the seat. It raised it up a bit and provides some cushion. I may go to 2x4 as the pool noodles get smashed down over time. All in all, it's worked well and provides a bit more storage. Rod holder on other side for track mount. Crate in back and I used your bungee pass through system. I have a basic anchor trolley just using caribener to the carry strap. Plan to install a permanent solution soon but it's worked well. I anchor mostly in mud or sand so I used a rubber coated 8lb dumbbell. Got mine for $400 before prices went up and it's been money well spent.
Pointing camera without showing overhead view means nothing. You know what you see but viewers are scratching their heads. Build the video through the eyes of viewer who has never been there. Maps showing prevailing winds terrain features travel routes etc
And what about the shimano's ?
Great video but where did you get the wheels from if I missed that ?
Wow, great idea! Awesome setup. Would this be advisable to do with a Pelican polyethylene canoe? It seems pretty solid on that top edge, but still plastic. Not sure if I can get the c clamps to hold on as securely as with this metal canoe.
Any chance this (or your other water guides) would work for an irrigation ditch near an ag field?
TX5 stand support system is great and cheaper than the lone wolf.
Shimano
You can recharge the battery?
So in my state we have high desert areas with public land having few if not any water sources. What is the best way to look for water in those situations?
Hey Mr. Meyer how’s the “new class”
This guy is staring into my soul, jokes good video tho.
Yo, unc, I was wondering if you knew anything about summer ice fishing.
Good review. Is this boat big enough for dog and enough gear for multiple day camping / fishing trip?
Nice review!
Well said brotha 👏👏👏👏
Good thing I got my own personal lake in my backyard 🫣 because I love any seafood that’s about all I eat
I picked up a revros a couple years ago. It continues to blow my mind how good it is. Only issue was having to shim the spool for proper line lay. After setup shes as good as any of my other reels. And my " expensive " reel lists at $500. Cheers
The only issue i have with daiwa is that their reels are so good, and last so long that i cant justify another reel purchase to my wife! Ha! ;)
I atm own a Revros and a Sweepfire along with other much more expensive reels. Seems like whenever I hook into a 30 lb channel cat it's on my Sweepfire 4000. Shes a beast ! Amazing.
How far behind the crankbait do you attach the fly 1:13
I never go above $40 new. Ultra light, light, medium, heavy. Fresh or salt. Been catching fish for 50 years. Never had a reel from any brand break or fall apart on me because of poor quality (I usually buy Shimano, Daiwa or Abu Garcia but Penn, mitchell, quantum and others are good too.) I stay away from shakespeare and Zebco. Wear and tear, yes eventually. I have landed large mutton snappers on the Daiwa D-Wave saltwater combo which i probably paid $35 for (Years ago). Still have it. I rinse, oil and keep in boxes. I don’t throw them in a corner of the garage. But i have nothing against the guy that spends $400 on a reel to catch the same fish as me. My 2 go reel for freshwater was the Shimano Symetre. Again i have landed from lake trouts to creek chubs using it. Even though i just got a couple of newer reels, i will still use my symetre. I take advantage of end of season clearance sales and buy used for the ones too expensive new.
How did you attach the transducer to the arm? My finder came with instructions for mounting to transom or trolling motor
Nice job!
Does the transducer get in the way of paddling, I had a concern about that..? I'm mounting it on the gear track of a Ascend H10 Kayak. Thanks for your response.
I have this same canoe. Just sit on the front seat but backwards. It’s a double ended canoe
I like finding old Daiwa's and other older quality reels at Goodwill or garage sales. I usually get some nice stuff for $5 - $10 each. Sometimes w/ rods attached!
Well spoken. Just found your channel.
What if you got a trailer for the aluminum canoe?
if it doesn't hold enough line go the next size up.
#1 sitting still. Idc who it is a hunter will move more in a saddle than a stand. I can hunt low with my hangon. Cant hunt low with my sling bc I move too much.
