Cool to see so many fresh and high and how you back tracked him by those rubs to discover all those big beds. Can’t wait to watch your video as you harvest this old buck!
Your intro was legendary 😂 “water…bed” Dude, the hardest part of navigating hunting advice throughout UA-cam is trying to get SIMPLE answers. I don’t care if y’all make 10-20 min videos, but don’t make a 10-20 min video that basically says “water…bed” and wastes my time. Your videos are THE best videos I’ve seen on hunting advice for public lane hunting. Ive learned more from 2 of your videos than probably 20 others I’ve been watching over the past week It’s frustrating as a new hunter to listen to some of these guys that drag on and on about nonsense and end up wasting your time. Thank you 🫡
Very good video and has lots of great tips for finding BIG BUCK beds! I find this a very frustrating thing to do, and even with trail cameras especially when the rut starts BIG BUCKS can go anywhere they want! This guy is smart and knows the area is going to be hard to set up without him knowing! Hope you get a shot opportunity at this guy.
Thank you. It's a tough area because his main travel areas are where no trees are big enough to climb. In southern WI, some big bucks will purposely do that to avoid hunters. crazy!
@@RelentlessSportsman My brother and I use stepladders in those situations. My brother uses the ladder way more than I do though. I prefer my novix helo and I usually just make tiny trees work. Many times I'm only 4-6' off the ground in some tiny twig. I've killed from as low as 1' off the ground in a stand. People ask why hang a stand 1' off the ground, and the answer is it's more comfortable, quieter underfoot, and sometimes just that slight extra elevation can get you shooting over brush instead of through it. He's got a good setup there but with the right wind blowing just off on that point, you can kill him. Good luck!
How should go about finding beds I hunt in hardwoods in northern Wisconsin and it’s mostly small ridges and only places I see rubs on the 2 rut logging roads and there all along the side of the road and in the thickets off the road 200 yards only time I have seen beds was up on a ridge looking down on the road
Are you going to hunt that buck this year? If so aren’t you worried about all the scent you left in his area? Not knocking your strategy or anything like that I’d just like to know because I’m new to this whole public land/ mobile hunting deal.
No not at all. I will set up on him in other locations. This was just reassuring to know where his other beds are because I’ve been looking for almost 3 years now.
Understand Man I was hoping you was going to tell me I could go through an area like that and hunt it successfully. 😂 Anyway love your content it has helped lessen my growing pains with mobile hunting for sure. 👍🏻 Hope we get to see you get that buck on the ground.
No. I don’t use trail cameras at the moment. I’ll get one soon and put it up, just for this specific deer - it’s driving me crazy. My brother saw him one time hunting last season and he was really big. So I would imagine he’s even bigger now. Hardest deer to figure out that I’ve ever tried.
Thank you! I'll do everything possible to put that one down. Always means more when you've been hunting the same buck, in the same area for 3 years in a row.

Thanks! Hopefully that'll happen. He's a sneaky deer. Only seen 1 time in the past 3 years.
