Hello Anybody,
I'am Steve and welcome to my channel. On here I will be discussing my non financial 5yr retirement planning for something to take up my time in retirement. Starting this channel is the first step. I plan on uploading videos once or twice a week to start with about my progress or anything else that strikes me. It's a shame that the ones that are from here don't share the same love of country that immigrants here do. They are looking at America based off where they came from and don't want us to turn into where that was. That's exactly where we are headed according to them and they should know. The world as a whole is better off with a Strong, Reliable and Honest America.

Willie Mays died last Tuesday 6/18/2024. Just taking a minute to remember him. The sounds of summer are great and memorable whether it's the crack of the bat or the sounds of tree frogs croaking in the night. One thing I forgot to mention was the call of the Whippoorwill.

Kids are a wonderful gift from God. They can be a lot of work and worry but it's well worth it all. Just a story about my son. Hard to believe I have kids almost old enough to run for president.
Trust but Verify

How do we get trust back in our Government? We've fallen down on the verify and because of that we've lost trust. They sure ain't doing anything to earn it that's for sure. Tit for Tat politics sure ain't a way to regain it either I believe. Verify and hold them accountable is really the only way I see the trust coming back.
Things are Popping Down on the Corner

This is shaping up to be a busy Summer down on the Corner. Haven't been to the Upstate of South Carolina before and looking forward to it. A short stop by the Prince George/Hopewell welcome Center has given me lots to do and look forward to around town this year. www.VisitHPG.com Is their website. Plenty of information for things to do and see around here if you're ever in the area.

This time of year always make me think back to all the wonderful times spent over Summer Break. Also I tend to think ahead for the recent graduates. Always amazes me that somewhere in the this group will be a President, writer, scientist etc. that will make a huge difference in this crazy world. Best of luck to all the new graduates.

Both Confederates and Union not to mention the British in the war for independence. I really don't watch the debates but I think Trump has done stepped into a pile of dog you know what. The rules are setup for failure for him and to give Uncle Joe all the advantage. It was only arranged because it's Uncle Joe's only chance to get back the ground he has lost to Trump. A must have for Uncle Joe.

I think the loss of personal interaction and communication has a lot to do with the situation this country is in at present. Covid just accelerated the loss. Somehow we need to get back to it. Social media doesn't help. The act of being there in person gives you better context for the interaction. You can see their reaction, see their eyes and discuss something like adults. Something we haven't...

I feel bad for the dog/dogs barking, hope they can get out of the summer heat.
I was very concerned with Trump myself. His defense staff stated many times he wanted to start World War 3. I been to a few countries - Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Canada and Dominican Republic to name a few. Trump said many times he won't help defend our allies in NATO. SCARE me to death. Trump hate immigrants unless they come from European countries and white.
I’ve lived overseas in the past - not as military, but as a “civilian “ (and from their perspective I was the “immigrant”) - gives one a completely different point-of-view - The USA can indeed be, and often is a wonderful place, but, if we keep becoming more tribalized and divided, we will become the most dreaded place on this planet - with the power we have, if we lose the honorable will, we will become everything that we claim to despise.
I think the Democrats have protected Biden from public scrutiny for too long, so he’s getting a lot of attention now. The other guy has his own cognitive issues- like blaming Nikki Haley for not organizing Capitol security - but we’ve all seen a lot from him

I saw that fella on the bleachers earlier today, first video of his I had seen. yep no running from America to anywhere else, you got to stand for what you believe now.
A sleeping disorder that college students have involves sleep texting, where they wake up the next morning and are asked what the gibberish text they sent at three o'clock in the morning meant. That is brain wiring being altered in not a positive way.
Cell phones are great and the web is a fantastic tool but there should be a little less use of them and more person to person interaction I believe. There is just something that you can't get over electronics that you do in person. Who knows a little more personal interaction and conversation might be what we need in this crazy world right now. Hammering Hank was a heck of a hitter to break Ruth's home run record. When the Yankees traveled, Babe Ruth's hotel roommate was asked what it was like and replied that he spent a lot of time talking to Babe's luggage because Ruth was always partying late into the night and usually did not come back to the room until four or five A.M.😀
I heard Bob Uecker say one time that's what made Mantle such a great player. He said "Anybody can play good when they were sober" something to that effect anyway. Mantel hung out all night and still was able to play. Also heard Billy Martin was with him most nights. Thanks. Steve

It’s great being able to enjoy the little things in life that were overlooked when working - had no time for that!😩. We have a single hummingbird who sits on the fence out behind our house in the late evenings we have enjoyed lately.
Had one outside the kitchen window for years but hung a flower there this year. My wife liked watching the hummingbirds in the evening after dinner. Just a little slower pace is all I was looking for out of retirement. The feeders give me a reason to slow down a little. Thanks. Steve

Lost a tree in the last round of storms that took out my bird feeders. Got the tree cut up. Now I need to get off my lazy butt and redo the feeders. 😊

I am smiling listening to some history tidbits. 😀 I enjoyed my “walks” when I lived at Ft Lee many years ago. Crater road and the story of “both sides” during that part of the battle for Petersburg still stirs my awe for what the soldiers (both sides) endured. Thanks Steve.
I loved going to the Crater as a kid. Haven't been in a few years. Amazing story around the battle and area at that time. Went to Gettysburg a few years ago and stood at Little Round Top. Really gives a perspective on what they did. Unreal. Thanks. Steve

The decison was rather simple in my mind. Congressmen get immunity when speaking on the floor of the Congress. Lawyers get immunity when they are cross examining witnesses, Judges get immunity when they are on the bench. The Constitution is very clear on the President's punishment.
No, it makes presidents into elected kings as long as they're doing it as an 'official action' would could be just about anything. Biden should immediately make use of this to dissolve Congress and make himself dictator.

The prosecution called many people to the stand that were in the White House. All of that testimony is now unconstitutional and cannot be used against him. The US Constitution very clearly states what penalties are afforded to a sitting President. No one is above the law include these rouge, partisan prosecutors, who should be in jail. You should read the US Constitution. You might actually learn something. Also turn off CNN and MSNBC.

Didn't realize you had another channel!!! We subbed on this one now. We watched the debate and it was a horror show. He was lost. It was really sad watching him fail like that. Seeing any elder crumbling before our eyes is never a good sight.

They sure have a massive problem on their hands. The real question is how didn’t they see this coming? Was the poor debate performance all part of the master plan?
Could have been a total setup to replace him. I've heard that theory a few times and sounds plausible. I think people didn't see it because of how it was hidden from them and they never looked for it. Dems and media have been lying the whole time hiding it. Every time something would come up it was discounted and excused away. Hunters laptop, classified papers, DOJ, Illegals etc. not to mention he had a cold. People actually believe that. Thanks. Steve
@@stevescorner2702 four years ago I didn’t think the man’s health would hold for his first term. I thought that he shouldn’t be running because of it. He is about the same age as my and my baby’s parents and three out of four of them have passed since Joe took office. I’m pretty familiar with recognizing cognitive decline and there’s never been any question in my mind about Joe having it. What they are doing to him now is nothing short of elder abuse.
Joe wasn't this bad 3 years ago. Trump also said if Joe was elected in 2020 the stock market would crash but it hasn't, has it?? Both sides use scare tactics, it's all dumb. How is your 401k doing?? Neither one of them is fit to be president and it's a shame we don't have better choices.
A better choice wouldn't run to begin with. Probably wouldn't get any votes either. Just the way things are. The market doesn't matter if you don't have any money left over to put in it. We did under Trump. Correct they all use scare tactics. That's why I don't pay much attention to all the bs during election seasons. Uncle Joe sure has gotten worse since 2020 no doubt. A large percentage of Dems saw the real Biden for the first time Thursday night because they have never watch any networks that have shown the real Biden. They are and always have been controlled by the media. Sheep so to speak. Fortunately the fake network couldn't even protect him this time as hard as they tried.

I think they know exactly what they did, they want a new candidate that no one voted for. I don't think the debate is changing anyone's mind, but hopefully it will get Trump supporters out and vote! We need 80% voting so we can overcome the Dem cheaty machine. I will also say, if not for the 4 Trump years I probably would not have been able to retire early.
We were able to pay off our mortgage early thanks to the Trump years. I really appreciate that chance!

I been saying for over a year. 75 days out from election his is replaced with Michelle Obama on the ticket. Not time to vet her. Grew up hearing the names of all the great players. Any cards we bought we ended up losing. As an adult I've never bought memorabilia. I do have a Cleveland Browns 1965 training camp photo that came from Art Modells mansion when he cleaned it out after moving the Browns to Baltimore. I'll do a video on that one! Lol
Collected them as a kid all the time. What didn't get trashed or lost throughout the years came in handy for the times I was laid off. Helped pay the bills. Used to swap for them. That would be a great story to hear. Can't wait. Thanks. Steve

Thats pretty good, about your kids and all Steve, time has a way about it doesn't it and how fast they grow up, ours is only 21. Also envious of your outstanding garden mister, wish ours was already that well along, we are slow up here in the PNW I guess....Have a good one bubba...
Time sure does have a way of going by that's for sure. Poor guy was always getting in trouble for things he didn't do. Kids are a lot of work, trouble and worry but worth every second of it. The garden always looks nice this time of year. Once we get deeper into summer it starts petering out. About August I'm ready to till it under and start the collards. Wish we had more room I'd like some watermelon and always wanted to raise some pumpkins. Thanks. Steve

I was a Hank Aaron fan so I didn’t appreciate how good Willie was. Like you, he was past his prime when I saw him & didn’t get what all the hype was about him. But when you look at his numbers, he was absolutely great! BTW, I have those same 2 cards of him you showed👍
Same two, no kidding? That '73 I got from a cousin and started me collecting when I was young. The '66 I got in my twenties from a friend. Don't fool with them any more and haven't for decades but really enjoyed it when I was younger. Mostly just traded them. Thanks. Steve
@@stevescorner2702 I started collecting around 70-71. My dad bought a grocery bag full of cards for me from a friend which had mostly 60’s cards in it. So that’s where I got the 66
I'm the same way, I keep the house at 77 and when the ac comes on it feels like it blowing right on me the entire time. I look like the old man with his lap blanket.
That's exactly what my kids say to me when I put that shirt on in the house. The old man has broke out his flannel. I don't mind but is sure is cold feeling. Sure beats the heat of the oven and dryer in the house though. Thanks. Steve
