Came across some decent books at a thrift store. 4 books for $5. Libraries around here also sell used books. Gotten lots from both places over the years.
It's actually 2 books in one. It was a 2 book series on Eisenhower's war years then combined them in 1970. This is a second print paperback in 1999. Most of it is taken straight from Eisenhower's personal notes and interviews with other veterans. I was wrong about the pages it's only 736, with the last 50 or so notes, glossary and index. 44 chapters and I'm only on chapter 7. Will be the end of April probably. Thanks. Steve
A decade or so ago they built a second paralell bridge and couldn't believe how good a job they did back in the 60's on the first one. Currently building 2 more tunnels for that span. Once they open back up the viewing area and pier I'd like to drive it again. Scheduled for sometime in 2025. 4th longest bridge in the country at 17.6 miles with 2 - 1 mile tunnels under the bay. Amazing drive. Thanks. Steve
I used to collect books, but had to stop due to the clutter. I only do Kindle now. There are so many free books and digital libraries to read from. I am a non-fiction reader as well. Many of the fiction novels I came across are pretty bland.
Now that's an ambitious read, right there! Give me a L'Amour Western any day!!
