Xiao Long Bao & Brown Sugar Boba Milk @ Xing Fu Tang
After exploring the Ximen Night Market, we made the decision to have dinner at Xing Fu Tang Xiao Long Bao. According to the restaurant, they are the best tender meat xiao long bao (soup dumplings) in Taiwan. To sample, we got one of everything from their menu. Every dish was served hot, fresh, and well presented.
I sampled the meat sauce on rice. The rice was tender and fluffy. The meat was fatty, tender, and melts in my mouth. The sweetness and saltiness of the spice were well-balanced.
I then sampled the rice dish with pork trotter. Because the pork trotter was cooked in the same sauce as the meat sauce, it had the same flavour. The pig trotter had the ideal level of doneness. The meat was falling off the bone tender.
I then gave the xiao long bao a try. The skin had more thickness than usual. Although the meat was delicious, there was not enough flavour. Was it really that good? I disagree.
I sampled the pork ball soup next. The pork ball had a distinct taste, which I didn't find appealing despite its bouncy texture.
The brown sugar boba xiao long bao was the final course. Although the dumpling smelled good, it was dry and the brown sugar boba tasted bland when I bit into it. Next to the pork ball soup, it was most likely the worst dish.
In general, I disagree with the restaurant's assertion. Probably all I would eat there is rice with meat sauce or rice with pig trotter. In terms of flavour, it was superior to the xiao long bao. When in Taiwan, you have to visit the renowned Din Tai Fung if you like xiao long bao.
In addition, we visited Xing Fu Tang to try their famous brown sugar boba milk. The beverage had a brown sugar topping that was burned like a crème brûlée. It undoubtedly gave the drink more flavour and depth. In addition, the pearl had flavour and was warm and chewy. I did wish they had put more boba because there wasn't enough of it.
All things considered, I would advise grabbing the brown sugar boba milk and putting the food aside. My recommendations and video should help you organize your culinary travels more effectively. Cheers to everyone's healthy eating!

    Hey Jenny; the secret to not crying when you cut onions...Is a freakishly sharp knife. Forget the tomato test. An onion is the true test of a knife's sharpness. If a knife is not razor sharp, it will "push" into the onion, before it cuts, releasing the oils. If you don't have a freakishly sharp knife, soaking your onions in ice water usually helps, somewhat. Also, if you put a damp towel under your cutting board, the board won't move around. You don't want things moving around when you have a knife in your hand. Good video; keep it up!
