  • We’ve been eating Chinese food for several days now, and I really needed to try something else. For dinner tonight, I decided to go to Da Vincenzo for pasta and pizza.
When we arrived at the restaurant, the server seated us right away and brought out the menu, table settings, and water. The restaurant setting is quaint and cozy. The music was trendy, with many of my children's favourite hits.
After browsing over the menu, we ordered several dishes to try, including spaghetti carbonara, pappardelle with mushrooms and Italian sausage ragu, and Neapolitan pizza with mushrooms and wild boar sausage. Everything we ordered was a specialty at the restaurant.
The first dish that came out was the spaghetti carbonara. The dish looks pretty presented and hot. The taste, I thought, was kind of lacking in flavour and could’ve done with a little more cheese and black crack pepper.
The second dish that came out was the pappardelle with mushrooms and Italian sausage ragu. That pasta was also nicely presented and seasoned well; however, I find that the addition of the black pepper on top made the pasta taste a lot better.
Our final dish was the Neapolitan pizza with mushrooms and wild boar sausage. The pizza tasted really nice. However, if it was left a little longer, the crust of the pizza did get rock hard, so it was kind of hard to eat, and my kids didn’t like the crust after the pizza cooled down.
Overall, the food was good-nothing wow or amazing-but for a small little Italian joint, I would say it was decent, and I would definitely come back to eat if I ever need a change of scenery from all the Chinese food that we’ve been eating.
