  • On our first night in Hong Kong, we went to Sai Kee Congee Shop for a late-night meal. It was the only restaurant nearby that was open until 2 a.m. We heard from our friend that restaurants around Hong Kong aren’t open that late anymore, and finding a late-night restaurant is somewhat difficult depending on the area that you are in.
For our meal, we ordered two Chinese donuts to go with our chicken and pork inert congee. We also ordered steamed shrimp rice rolled, followed by sticky rice with mung beans and ground pork. The chicken congee came out, so I checked to see what was in it. To my surprise, the chicken congee came with pieces of free-range chicken, ginger, and was topped with green onions. It’s exactly how I would make it at home.
Next came my pork inert congee that had liver, kidney, large and small intestines, stomach, heart, and pork sliced, which was also very good. I don’t taste or smell any smell from the inert, which means they clean their ingredients very well.
After our meal at Sai Kee Congee Shop, we decided to go next door to 7-Eleven, and we got ourselves our first haul of Haagen-Dazs ice cream. Watch the video if you want to hear our comments about our reviews of the ice cream we got at 7-Eleven.
