  • Have you heard of your vagus nerve? It's a nerve that connects your brain to your gut and is in charge of (1) making sure your organs are doing ok (2) turning on your body's anti-stress parasympathetic nervous system response. Try this 10 minute routine to activate your vagus nerve to jumpstart your anti-stress response.

    WHAT IS BRAIN EDUCATION TV?
    Brain Education TV provides mental health and mental wellness videos to help young adults with loneliness, depression, and anxiety. The foundation of our content comes from Brain Education, an academic study from South Korea that stems from over 40 years of research and application and has been practiced by millions around the world.
    WHY WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH…
    We suffered from high-functioning loneliness and depression our whole lives. We lived different lives in different states, but when we met, we realized we were struggling with common issues that reflected an important problem in our young adult generation. We didn’t know who we were, what we were passionate about, what we should live for, and what direction our lives were “supposed” to go. We spent a lot of time wandering in search of that magical ‘answer’ that will solve all problems (like I’m sure most of you are doing right now), and yet the further we searched outside, the more pronounced the emptiness inside of us felt.
    Millions of people suffer silently from mental health related issues. Yet our society still places taboos around openly talking about relevant mental health topics like loneliness, depression, and anxiety. As a result, our young adults don’t know how to talk about it constructively, where to turn to, or what resources they have to combat this real-life threat to their wellbeing.
    We credit Brain Education for giving us the courage to overcome our own mental health struggles and create the lives we want...and now we hope you can too through the videos we share on this channel.

Beside stretching romboïds and tennis ball foot massage, this techniques is also greatly complementary to breathing exercises when abs are tensed! Chronic disease also leads to mental health issues so i can't thank you enough for this. My best sign of efficiency is yawning which indicates i'm close to or currently switching to Parasympathetic. @@SuperCkram you can’t just make a statement like this without providing context or resources to learn more. How much is over-doing it? What are the signs and symptoms? Are psychic repercussions positive, negative or neutral?
      .
      Personally i want psychic repercussions. I want deeply held stress and trauma to be released.
      .
      Edit: perhaps these trauma releases are what you were referring to: someone may do this for general stress relief and unwittingly bring the trauma from subconscious to conscious awareness. That could indeed be troubling for some who didn’t know that’s a possibility.

    It literally has been 4 months since I slept all night. I have been searching the web and doing other things as well for relaxation to help, but after doing this for the first time last night, (and I did not seem to feel much) I slept all night. I will continue to do this and hope the results are the same! Thank you!

    So appreciate this!!! I have found working with the Vagus Nerve has been life-changing. In the night when I wake with anxiety or pain I use a vagus nerve activating exercise and am amazed how responsive my mind and body are to this very calming change. It actually minimizes my pain....Thank you! Thank you! I'm a believer and a daily disciple!!

    I’m not even sure if I did this right. I’ve been struggling with terrible symptoms of heart palpitations, digestive issues and anxiety for months. Before I completed the last exercise I literally started crying. I have no idea why I became so emotional. I will continue to do this everyday to see how it will affect me. Hopefully this is exactly what I needed to get back to feeling like my old self.

      Hi Amy, I’ve been suffering attacks of atrial fibrillation (high heart rate with fluttering where I nearly pass out) following hospitalisation for a sudden serious GI Bleed. My digestion is terrible and I have started recently with anxiety. I read an article by a leading cardiologist that AF can be triggered by the Vagus Nerve. I told my doctor I think it’s connected to my stomach but he dismissed this and just wants to increase meds. I prefer natural remedies and am so grateful to have found this video. I’m going to try this straight away- thank you so much…..🙏

    Adjustments I made for my body that might help others:
    1) Checked curvature of lower spine for personal comfort;
    2) Relaxed tension in upper shoulders and base of neck;
    3) Tapped on areas with less force;
    4) Lowered the repetition count from 30 to 10-15 for each progressive change in the sequence;
    5) Alternated between tapping on diaphragm (in upper abdominal) and lower chest/heart region;
    6) Pushed mindfully around sensitive areas of my belly region;
    7) Adjusted clothing as necessary in the situation;
    8) Stayed mindful of comfortable performance in place of perfectly following all the exercise, since it’s about tuning into each individual body’s stress and pain response.
