I am 70 and have an inoperative tumor " IN" my SPINAL CORD. I came across these video's and want to say THANK YOU! I will be paralyzed from the wast down eventually. I fight every day to stay out of a wheelchair. I have done these exercises and they tell me exactly where the pain is ,this way I can work through it. I send you MUCH BLESSINGS! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE VIDEOS BLESSINGS!
Reject the thoughts of ever getting into a wheelchair. I was due to have a spinal surgery 8 years ago. I got healed by faith and I am pain free, have perfect mobility and no downtime. I called the hospital and cancelled the surgery. 8 years later, they are still waiting for me to come....something that will never happen. You too can be healed and never end up in a wheelchair.
I’m 47 and my muscles are stiffening up. I am going to start doing this every day because I still have 53 years left on the planet and I want to be able to enjoy my older years.
Have you thought of using a Rebounder, it is very gentle or as aggressive as you want. Stress is very low on joints qnd great for balance. You can use it indoors or outside.... it pumps your limph and will help with inflammation, especially if you give up or lessen carbs and do a gentle fast like 12 hours. All the best with your health journey.... ever bit of movement is great.

Ok so just an update after faithfully doing this almost every day for several months now; to make it easier, choose a time in your daily routine, for example, right after I get up, my lovely cat gets fed and then I do these joint exercises. I had two operations on my right foot over the past year and went for my 6 month check up and the doctor couldn’t believe how flexible my ankle joints already were! My occasional age-related (65) shoulder and neck pains are not so frequent and lower back pain very rare now. It really really helps! Thank you so much! 🙏
I am going to be 78 next month. Just found this great video. Thank you so much for posting this for all of us to add to our lives. I just did this for the first time and I can’t already feel the benefits. I used a chair to lightly hold onto when lifting one leg at a time. I have a feeling after a few days I will have the balance to not use the chair..if not I will continue with the chair for that part. 😇🙏💕🌺💕

Ba Duan JIn or 8 silk brocades. This routine overlaps between health and martial (martial arts). This circulates the energy through the muscular fascia (where weight training cannot get too) as well as connective tissue. This helps increase bone density, tendon strength and flexibility. It even strengthen the fascia around the entire spine. It is only 8 exercises and is done in 20 to 25 minutes. The energy also settles and balances the energy in all your organs. This martial benefits are that it helps to recover from hard training and minimize injury. But it also increases martial power (power used in self protection) 3 to 5 times. And tendon strength tends to last for years vs muscular strength. This is why it is common to see Okinawan karate masters still training past their 90s and still have plenty of power. The idea is the long game. If you were to combine that with kettlebells (compound movement in fitness) you would have a holistic approach to fitness as one supports the other. Short term benefits in Baduan Jin can be seen in 2 to 3 months. Long-term benefits are seen in 2 to 3 years. "What is Qigong? A step-by-step guide to growing a successful daily practice of Qigong" by Christopher Handbury is a good book to get understanding of qigoing in general and specifically Baduan Jin. The 2 videos you can buy and download to watch on a TV. Qigong Tutorials - The 8 Silk Brocades with Mimi Kuo-Deemer. https:vimeo.com[forward slash]ondemand[forward slash]qigongtutorials8silk One video is a tutorial and covers common mistakes. The other is the entire routine. Each exercise starts off with 6 repetitions. The routine is easy but the devil is in the details. You fine tune as you go. And you can increase the repetitions in time. To get the benefit of this you want to do this 5 times a week....
I am 65 and have been following Shi Heng Yi for just a year now. I am about to sign up for the Way of Self Mastery course. They have some free courses that I highly recommend. By the way I do like their Qi Gong course. Come on guys lets get going.
I have an enormous amount of stress in my life. Mentally, physically and spiritually I have lost myself. I look to engage this as a daily routine in the morning and at night. I've just started but I will update as I go. Thanks for the time you put into making this video. 👍😁👍
As you start your journey of finding yourself again remember you have a cheering squad behind you. May you reconnect with your sense of self and find contentment much love and blessings❤ from South Africa
Look into visualization and Dr. Jow dispenza's work on how mind and emotion affects body. Stress is often a product of mind, and our thoughts can either help our bodies heal (with positive thoughts and feelints) or become worse (in stress/negativr thoughys wnd feelings) our immune system function is amplified by our thoughts. If you imagine yourself healed (have to practise) and if u can feel the emotionsn of that future state, through imagination.. then it will send strong signal to cells to heal in all aspects. Immune system will improve. Look into it, and try it - don't take my word, but it's worked for me
It’s the perfect little routine in the morning! I have searched a long time for something like that. Now that I found this routine I do it every morning and I’m only 27 😂 I love it ! And also your energy is so calming and warm.

This is a great idea! I did not do this and I am feeling it already in my late 30s! Don't be like me, start now and maybe it will hit later for you 😂 I am doing it now as well and it's helping heaps! ❤
Great idea. Like so many, when I was your age I never thought I needed something like this. I’m paying for it now. Starting young is pure gold. Good luck.
Thank you my friend, keep doing videos and helping people, I will use your exercise, I have back problems, and a simple exercise like this but usefull also, is very important. I' m writing from Greece, thank you

Dear Shi Heng Yi, I keep doing this morning routine with you and also do some of your exercises that are on UA-cam. I used to do yoga and dancing but I damaged 3 meniscuses and have some serious health issues so I chose carefully all I can do. Every day I have to listen to at least one but usually 2-3 of your messages, mainly from Mulligan Brothers, it became my school of life. It might sound strange, I am 62, lived in different countries - Ukraine, russia, Czech Republic, and now in the US but I take you as my teacher and somewhere deep inside my heart, as my son. Sadly, there is no any understanding between me and my 42 y.o. son. You brought me some light and direction. Thank you for being You. Lots of love and respect from Svitlana.
Этот комплекс пропагандировал в России несколько десятилетий назад Мирзакарим Норбеков. Мы, люди старшего поколения, знали и ценили эти восточные практики. С благодарностью пользовались ими на благо здоровья. Отличные упражнения!
Sorry one additional quick note. Watch the video til the end. If it's one thing that we need to pay attention to as we get older it's the flexibility and strength of our feet! For balance! xoxo
When I was younger, I was a martial artist. Taekwondo, hapkido, later german longsword. It's been many years since my mind has overwhelmed me and led to vast, dark difficulties in my life. Now and then I work out with weights, but your excersises are just about what my masters' would have us do in the beginning of each class... for years. I never appreciated until now, years later, how much they help and revitalize me. My energy hasn't been able to flow like thisdecaa couple of decades. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for giving me hope that I can bring health back to my body and my energy.
Dear, I thank you for the time you spent creating this video. One year of Yoga exercise helped my body to keep it strong and in good health. I tried to keep up with some exercises (even though those courses of yoga stopped). After having followed the whole exercise (12:00) : both body & mind were uplifted. This type of exercice helps me to keep in good health, since I am within my second springtime of women, meaning menopause (age 53). Thanks again for sharing this excellent video!
I started exercising with Master Shi Heng Yi two years ago. I happened to stumble upon his UA-cam page. It was one of the most challenging set of exercises that I ever took on. It was very different for me. But I hung in there and saw progress and results within a short amount of time, both physically and mentally. Was so glad that I found him.
I appreciate the reminder. This was the main point that I got out of 6 years of college studying health ❤. The fact that I need to move all my joints through the full range of motion every day 💜❤️
As a 75 year old woman with osteoarthritis, these really helped to awaken and loosen my joints upon awakening this morning. I will be doing these daily and sharing with my family and friends. With gratitude and respect. I have subscribed and turned on the notification bell so that I will get future videos from you.❤🙏🏾

Thank you for this interesting and invigorating routine. I am 70, and love staying flexible and opened; available for whatever physical activity God enables me to do.
I'm turning 40 in a couple months and my focus is on my wellness, physically and mentally and I will absolutely be adding this into my daily routine. Thank youuu so much!
Perfect universal timing, will incorporate this into my every day. Thank you, thank you, thank you. With love, positivity, and light from my familia to everyone
Thank you I'm 50 and I do it every day after my morning prayers , for the knee joint I feel difficulty to bend because at the same time lower spine is also involved and I have osteoarthritis , but I manage it try to bend that far I can manage. But it is really good to protect my joints. ❤
Greetings from Bangalore, india. We have similar regime as part of yoga, which includes stretches and movements to help loosening every muscle and joint. Also simple techniques to improve breathing. They do not include the yoga postures which come after. I am 65 years old woman and cannot do most of the actual postures. But I do the set of loosening exercises and breathing every morning which roughly takes about 25 - 30 minutes. It's totally doable for all ages and totally worth it, considering how much less stiffening, pain and creaking I feel during rest of the day. Thank you for posting this video.
Shaolin practices came from Bodhidharma, an Indian buddhist who, I’m pretty sure, was a yogi. Thus, there are many many similarities. He founded ch’an (or Zen) in China. He taught the Shaolin monks exercises to strengthen and prepare them for meditation. This is my understanding. Upa yoga has similar movements - see Sadhguru’s videos for example.
22 years ago I had done these exercise and I weighed only 49kg to 52 kg bt after marriage and was famous for my smartness in my friends but now with 3 C-sections I'm now with 76kg weight , without any exercise. thank you for reminding me and it is very motivational for me to remember my old self. I will try to reduce weight and keep exercising to do so.
Wake up, stretch. Get up, move every joint in your body - preferably whilst getting daylight into your eyes. (This routine is perfect) Then drink a glass of warm water, to help activate the digestive system. Practice deep breathing, or even meditation. A walk is good next, to get every muscle activated, and prepared for a more intense workout. (Future if you're just starting out, you'll need time for your body to get used to new routine)
This is so wonderful thanks for giving us this great way to start the day I’m on day 3 I will stay with this You are in such great shape I’m so happy to find you. I see your interview with George ☮️

Trying this for the first time was a beautiful awakening... I jump out of bed to a glass of water and then begin this session. You and your sessions are much needed for so many .. as it is healing and uplifting at the same time. Your 20 minute daily morning routine is exceptional. Out there in the snow, you practice with such ease and peace of mind. I'm so happy and grateful I found you here... Blessings to all.

What an excellent way to start the day! Thank you! I will add these to my morning repertoire of stretch/yoga before getting out of bed. I enjoy compound movements, so I squeeze my abs, glutes, etc. to activate those muscles as well.
I did not realize how stiff my muscles were. I work out every day. This helped me to pinpoint where my body is stiff. This is probably fantastic to do before resistance training workout.
Every day that is the hardest part for me. I vow to myself and know how valuable moving is to my body on a regular basis. I always find things to do but I know in my heart that the "things" I do need to be for ME first. The dishes, laundry, etc. will always wait for me like, uninvited guests. Amaste

"What is Qigong? A step-by-step guide to growing a successful daily practice of Qigong" by Christopher Handbury is a good book to get understanding of qigoing in general and specifically Baduan Jin.

One video is a tutorial and covers common mistakes. The other is the entire routine. Each exercise starts off with 6 repetitions. The routine is easy but the devil is in the details. You fine tune as you go. And you can increase the repetitions in time. To get the benefit of this you want to do this 5 times a week....
Awesome, thanks
are you kidding us TK?!! 54?? ... you look way younger. You are not a day over your 40s ☺
I am grateful to you for sharing this morning routine.
I am 65 and have been following Shi Heng Yi for just a year now. I am about to sign up for the Way of Self Mastery course. They have some free courses that I highly recommend. By the way I do like their Qi Gong course. Come on guys lets get going.
I live in chicago. Do you know where l can sign up for these classes? Please let me know.

Greetings to Banglore
Is there a video of what you do in your 'yoga'
I wish you all the best.
I have an enormous amount of stress in my life. Mentally, physically and spiritually I have lost myself. I look to engage this as a daily routine in the morning and at night. I've just started but I will update as I go. Thanks for the time you put into making this video. 👍😁👍
Time well spent!
Look into it, and try it - don't take my word, but it's worked for me

i’m 23 years old but my work and study requires that i spend so much time sitting during the day. this video was so great, i really don’t want my body to deteriorate at a young age, so i’ll try to incorporate this into my daily routine or during breaks between study sessions. thank you so much master!
"Try"? No. Say I WILL
This is a great idea! I did not do this and I am feeling it already in my late 30s! Don't be like me, start now and maybe it will hit later for you 😂

Thank you my friend, keep doing videos and helping people, I will use your exercise, I have back problems, and a simple exercise like this but usefull also, is very important. I' m writing from Greece, thank you

the last part, "for the perfectionists" that little extra 😉😊🙏 thankyou for hearing and sharing.
Great Story Lana, wishing you all the very best, for you and your son!!

That is part of life. Letting yourself go and then returning to the source.

Also being 53, I like this positive, uplifting identification of this time, "within my second springtime of women" 🕊️

Thank you so much! I too am so glad I found you here; not only this video but all of your others as well!
I appreciate the reminder. This was the main point that I got out of 6 years of college studying health ❤. The fact that I need to move all my joints through the full range of motion every day 💜❤️

Don't try just do it. You are worth it and more than capable of achieving your goal.
Thank you master for your wisdom and training🙏🏼
Wake up, stretch.
Get up, move every joint in your body - preferably whilst getting daylight into your eyes. (This routine is perfect)
Then drink a glass of warm water, to help activate the digestive system.
Practice deep breathing, or even meditation.
A walk is good next, to get every muscle activated, and prepared for a more intense workout. (Future if you're just starting out, you'll need time for your body to get used to new routine)
I was looking for inspiration for my senior class. I take in a nursing home. I've got a couple of new moves now thank you ❤

Amaste
