One thing I’ve done for stress and lack of energy is at the end of my shower I take a deep breath and hold I and once I kick it to ice cold, I hum low for 20-30 seconds. Longer if I can stand it! If you skip a shower, (and I am guilty.. I think we all can be, put ice packs on both sides of your neck just under the ear and hum.as long as you can. Good luck!

Longer if I can stand it! If you skip a shower, (and I am guilty.. I think we all can be, put ice packs on both sides of your neck just under your ears and hum or sing. Belting out your favorite songs can work that diaphragm and really stimulate the vagus nerve! Great informative video! I’m excited to try some of this out and your voice is SO soothing that you could make millions on different kinds of guided meditations! I think people are going to UA-cam especially for guided meditations from relaxing, sleep, nerves, astral projection, spiritual practices and more , (at least I do) and YOUR VOICE is special! This video was great but the things you could do with just your voice could be your life’s purpose or calling. You are truly blessed. Every word that came from your mouth made me melt into calm and follow without distraction. You’d be great doing hypnotherapy as well. And that is becoming very popular too! Ty for what you do. I’m just saying with that relaxing soothing and angelic voice ,don’t stop there!

1- Laughter and even fake laughter. Find something that makes you laugh everyday. 2- Deep breathing. Engage the diaphragm. Exhales should be longer than our inhales. The 4/8/7 breath. Inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 8 sec, exhale for 7 sec. 3- Humming/chanting. 4- Gargling. It activates our vocal cords which stimulates the vagus nerve. 5- Singing: in the shower, while cooking, while taking a walk. 6- Pet connection (your own or someone else's) 7- Yawning. 8- Mindful Eating: to be present with our food.

I'm regularly working on self directed compassion and when I start to yawn to the point my jaw hurts, cry, hiccuping, burping, get gas, I know that the self treatment hit the soft spot.
Singing helped me to go through a lot of though times.

@@hmmcinerney oh, believe me, they are. I'm singing in a mix generation choir. We are singing at masses, different cultural events, we sing at funerals, weddings, you name it. Many members had difficult times and we helped them get on their feet with participating at practicing, organizing casual meetings after the practice so we talked a little, cried, drank a glass of wine and ate a good food. So yeah, choir is cleaning the soul and helping in therapeutic way both, those who listen and those who sing.

How do I get an out-of-body experience?

Research shows that Mindfulness practice can potentially facilitate these experiences and it is to be practiced with a certified mindfulness teacher and/or certified coach.

All my humming is in my throat. I can’t feel it in my belly at all.

Thats actually just as beneficial. The Vagus nerve runs from your brain down to you gut, so it runs down both sides of your throat.

My wife sent this to me. I lost 1/2 my voice from surgery they say from damaging the Vagus nerve. I wish I could sing or hum but that doesn't work with me. I have been doing acupuncture and medical massage with little change. Any advice on a voice loss via Vagus nerve? I will try what I have heard on this. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, not specific advice. That being said, maybe check out some of my other Vagus nerve videos, they have specific exercises that target the Vagus Nerve and don't require voice. All the best!

Yes, it can be very sad if that is the first thing that doctors jump too. There are some out there that do it different which is encouraging.

Vagus nerve is the roadway to our soul. When activated we feel our capacity to live and love our life. When you laugh it’s a full true feeling that brings relief to built up stress and is a pressure release. When we meditate we are stimulating the Vagus Nerve.
