She needs a bravery medal because courage isn’t lack of fear it’s being a good girl despite it
absolutely true.
It's a dog. They don't care about materialistic things nor do they have any idea what the heck you're talking about.
@@FarmerFpv you took that comment way too seriously 🤦♀️
@@FarmerFpv don't care about materialistic things "... never seen a Shiba or Akita defend their toys now have you?
Give them a squeaky bravery medal and they'll protect it against everyone outside the core family
@@FarmerFpv What?
I’m sure maya’s parents worked their asses off for her socialization skills, she’s doing so well here.
Well said. This does not happen overnight 🦊
Now if only everyone did the same with their Shibas and Huskies
and so young too, they absolutely knew what they were doing to start socialization early! No more of a trouble to groom than any other dog that doesn't like the process.
You couldn't GIVE me one of these Japanese monsters. I work for a dog spa and when I see one coming in I want to leave.
@@softsounds8453 When she mentioned Volume, my hand was already moving towards the speaker.
oh look it's the internet's official dog
@Nobody Atall Excuse me! Thats not how u spell Corgi
Much doge, such perfect comment, wow
Nono, Husky is the internet's offical dog!
@@B1gLupu nah, Husky's are up there but they just can't compete with the cultural reset that was Doge. Shiba are definitely The Internet Dog.
All dogs are the internet's official dog. Cats are all the internet's official cat.
Luna screaming off-camera while Maya just stands there dejectedly is so genuinely funny to me. The baby wants attention and the visiting teen just wants to go home and text her friends about how her mom made her go to a spa.
😂😂
Lupa
🤣
Even though she doesn't particularly like the whole experience, she's being very tolerant. Such a good girl
She’s a very good girl - even if at first she thought the dryer was a hellish instrument of death. Her owners have done a really good job with her. Beautiful sweetie pie
This answers the age-old question "What does the fox say?"
A lot. The fox says a lot.
Actually, the fox didn’t say a lot. Her puppy (Luna) was whining.
Ask Alexa or Google this.
HA!
😂
Lmao.
This salon is so high end, they even provide their own pups to do the screaming for the customers, apparently. 😁
The complete full service groom 😆
😂😂😂😂 such a cute comment
Alright
You win
I'm goin home
🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Maya did extremely well for her 1st grooming session. I have give credit to Maya's owners for training her to be very well-behaved.
@Tech some owners like to treat their dogs like a spoiled brat and they do not do their research on specific breeds properly.
@Tech ???
@Tech Why are you getting so many sexual assault accusations? What does this have to do with dog grooming?
@@KEVBOYMUSIC they might be a bot or something
@@COBRA-PUNK Let's hope so
I have a Shiba Inu. He’s a rare one, that never screams. He whimpers when he’s waiting for a walk and loooooves water on a hot day.
aren't most Shibas rather quiet?
@@zeropoint216 they are. Some do scream. Mine barks when he wants a dog to play with him.
Mine are in the rare category too. Male barks to play he's only a year my female screams when I come home. Nether like baths female might get in a lake only barks when people come to the door or when she's annoyed with the other dogs. And who can forget the butt bash? Both mine spin to bash during play
@@Babs-Veterans-are-Family my Shiba butt bashes. He’s gotten jealous of another Shiba before. Was at the dog park and he was under a year old and there was a female around his age. I attempted to call my dog to me while he switch to another dog to play with. The female saw me calling for my dog and starts heading towards me. My dog sees that and goes ah hell no and tackles the female Shiba. But yeah I’m sure some might go, “you sure they’re a Shiba?” He doesn’t mind baths. On a hot day he’s jumped in a wading pool, mud puddle, lake at a park, small creek and water at the base of a waterfall. Last two were at mammoth mountain. It was a long 7 mile hike and he chose to refresh and cool down. Refused to get back in my car. Damn dog loves the mountains.
@@86LukeM 😅 when we got my male my female was jealous for 3 months. Anytime he got close to me she gave the "Elvis lip" she's my momma not sharing her back off buddy. She growled at him he shyed away from her. Took a lot of work showing both equal attention finally she came around. Now they play sit in my lap together eat together. Shiba's are funny critters in more ways than one. My German Shepherd hates when the Shiba's lick her mouth its too funny.
She was nervous but kept it together for the most part, seemed to realise you wanted to help not harm her. Surprisingly compliant for a shiba, well done to her owners for working hard on her training.
Yes!! My brother had a Shiba and he was a nervous Nelly around anyone but family. Very high strung. We did training and all sorts of stuff and he could be around others but he couldn't take it for long ever. That's just how he was. My brother found him dumped out and brought him home, so there's no telling what the poor guy went thru. The vet said he was really young, about 10-12 weeks when we found him. Poor thing. He lived to be 12 I think.
I was in the Pest Management industry for more than a decade. I serviced an apartment complex once a month and this one lady had a Shiba Inu. For whatever reason the dog really took to me and she said he knew the day I would be there every month and would pace and look out the windows for me and would go ballistic when he first caught sight of me. I always scheduled my break times around servicing her apartment so I could stay and play with her dog.
Awesome!
That's so sweet. Aw! Thank you for sharing.
I love this story!!
Shibas meticulously pick the people they like and when they like you they really like you!!!
@wilsonroo16 yes!! Shibas are amazing and their mannerisms are too funny. Lol! Akita 'tude and husky energy 😂😂
Honestly, Vanessa outdoes herself. She turned the volume down for us during Maya's demands to speak to the manager about the blow dryer, treats her clients with respect and love, and gives us valuable knowledge about her beautiful clients.
Maya, you're so cute and marvelous❤
I noticed that.
Maya looks like she's questioning every life choice she's ever made.
Shiba Inus are basically cats, so they especially hate baths.
Cat-foxes with squirrel tails.
Fun story: I worked with a Shiba at a dog hotel and he decided to go on a hunger strike. We kept the owner in the loop for days and were worried they'd have to come home or have someone to pick him up. That was until day 3 when he started bugging a staff member over her McDonald's hamburgers. With the owner's approval we bought hamburger patties every day from McD's and he got to stay for the week.
At the end of the week he decided he didn't wanna go home and demanded I chase him.
Some dogs react to fear like that, refusing to act on their physical needs until they simply cannot do that anymore. My dog spent 3 days without eating anything (I think that's the most they can "safely" spend on a hunger strike) every time I brought home a foster animal, it worried me the first time, the third time I was like "eh, she'll eat when she wants to, she's not going to let herself starve to death" (but that was the last time I fostered, for a variety of reasons including how badly it affected her).
She's also known to not do her toilet needs when scared, again it freaked me out at first, now I just shrug it off and let her do as she thinks she needs to do.
😂😂😂 such personalities
Honestly the best dogs are the ones who are very clearly nervous and uncomfortable, but they trust that a human won't actually hurt them so they let you do what you need to. The intelligence needed to understand "this discomfort does not mean I am dying" shouldn't be understated!
This girl is making her displeasure known, but overall letting you do the groom without trying to escape or flail around! Very smart and very well-socialized pup!
Maya is a very nervous but well behaved sweetie pie💜
I love how your puppy just seems so concerned when Maya is getting her nails trimmed! I just imagine your baby saying "MAYA NOOOO! Be careful! She's gonna cut your toes off!" 🤣
The classic German Shepherd Drama in the background gave me a giggle. Love it!
Ikr such a classic 😆
Now that's a dog that has been well socialised and prepared by her owners! She did so well throughout the process!
How do you make sure you dogs well socialized (: ?
@@Icepink.cream. @hailey when the dog is young you introduce them to lots of other people and dogs
Lupa (not being groomed) screaming in the background of Maya's groom
Is such a mood
her whining during the bath and the blow drying sounded like a squeegee on a window most of the time XD
She is the very definition of a Good Girl. Made a little noise but that is to be expected. Such a beautiful sweetheart.
Shiba Inu lived next door to me for about 6 years, and I was never able to touchher. But she loved my Jack Russell and would dig under the fence to hang out. Quite often, we would walk in the laundry room to look out the window, find the Shibu running around my backyard with my Jackie. They are like squirrels
My shiba mix does the screaming when trimming his nails. 😂 Maya was actually good. What a pretty girl!
Maya deserves all the treats for hanging in there despite being scared.
Spot on about females being calmer. We took my male with his mom and sisters(litter mates) to one of their first vet visits, and the techs did a quick nail trim. At 14 weeks his screams were so blood-curdling that he upset other pet owners in the lobby. Mom and sisters just looked at us with eyes that said "I'm so sorry....this is so embarrassing..."
So well behaved considering the air tube monster.
I think Maya could be the new Twitter doge. LOL
You know, even with the blow-drier screaming... still the most chill Shiba I've ever seen. Good on the owners.
Aww she's hurting my heart with her cries. What a sweet gentle lady she is❤️
She can sing AND dance😂
Maya can move right in with the foxes here at the rescue zoo 😂
the courage this shibe showed is second to none ❤
haha your pup decided maya wasn't making enough noise x)
First time I've ever heard 'inu' pronounced like 'emu'. Such a cute dog with a wary expression all through the bath!
how else would you pronounce it?
@@zeropoint216 ee-noo. like how it's pronounced in Japanese
@zeropoint216 like "in" from "inside" and then the "u" sounds like the "oo" in "shoot" .
It's 柴犬 (しばいぬ), "brushwood dog" in Japanese 😊
@@zeropoint216 Simply, ee-new. い is pronounced 'ee', and ぬ is just 'nu,' like noo instead of nyoo.
Yeah I didn't expect to hear inyuu either lol
For Shiba standards, she did amazing!!
I love the way she feels the need to re-sniff the nail clippers between every clip like its gonna change
Maya, was quite good for her groom, considering her dislike of water. Great groom, Vanessa❤️👏👏👏👏👏
Shibas are BRILLIANT dogs. I had one; I used to kid that if he could speak English, he could answer the phone.
Puppy was more vocal about displeasure than Maya was!
She's too precious for words!❤ And she did so good (at least for the bath portion) for a Shiba Inu and her first time with you!😊🐕
Maya did such a great job! I can't get over her slightly droopy ears, so cute!
She seems scared. Poor baby. You were so gentle with her
Thank you for the volume warning ❤
I loved how when you were clipping the nails on her front paws, you would let her sniff the nail clippers any time she leaned over. It was just so sweet and caring, and you can tell it made a difference in her comfort level!
When I saw the title, my immediate thought was "It's a crossover!" Then I saw the adorable picture. Shibas really are like foxes in their own way 🦊🥰
She's so scared but so brave 🥹
Shibas are total divas. Their personality’s are completely different from what you see online haha
Beautiful coloring's on that animal. Looks a well cared for pet.
Huh. This Shiba didn’t need an exorcism. Unusual
Edit: Never mind. Air Tube of Death struck again
You couldn’t have gotten to the part with the blow dryer yet, considering how quickly you left this comment lol
For being a shiba, I still think she did really well!
Yeah compared to shibas like Goku she did great
Legend has it, some viewers (including me!) are still getting themselves prepared for the loud screaming part... 🎧🎧🎧🎧
My hand was already moving towards the volume button on my Keyboard.
I love how Vanessa is so used to accommodate for her fury clients that she accommodated for us, too, and turned the volume down for the drying part even though she had previously warned us it would be loud. She's a star 😊😊
AAAWE. Yk, Maya looks like she was not breaking for pure aesthetics. Truly a beautiful fox-dog
My cat started growling while your puppy was whining in the background! She ready to square up like the dumbest lil squeak toy in town.🤣🤣
What an intelligent, elegant Lady! She is stealing my heart....
She is using her words of protest - but is also super gentle and dignified. A true lady fox.
She is a very pretty gal, her owners have done a great job on her. And she looks super plush at the end ❤ xx
Shiba-Inu is my favorite breed. Maya is an unusually calm member of the breed. ❤
poor girl! She's so scared and nervous the entire time! 💔
1:00 "Water usually equals death" 😂
My friend has Shiba Inu Oskar, and he is a therapy dog at the University of Windsor. He is very friendly, raised as a puppy in downtown Toronto. I do find that socializing some independent dog breeds as puppies makes a real difference. For example I live in midtown Toronto, and we have a few friendly corgis. Even 10 years ago most corgis we met nipped my dogs. We also had a male Akita puppy raised around here, and another female Akita about 10 years before. They saw multiple dogs everyday from 10 weeks on. But the Scotties are still aloof.😊
I always thought of shibas as cats of the dog world lmao
She's so pretty. Adorable toasted marshmallow.
poor baby, I just wanna give her a big hug :(
That is an exceptionally calm Shiba lol. I expected her to scream like a banshee like her kin.
Maya is so cute, and a little scared. You can see her shaking. Sweet girl did well for her 1st session. The owners did a beautiful job with her. She's a sweetheart.
She is so sweet and nice.......love that.
She looked thoroughly unimpressed, but she kept her head up and took it on the chin. I mean I only got as far bath, but Maya seems like a sweetheart
"the females are calmer than the males"
*infernal screeches*
What a gorgeous dog!
I love seeing all the beautiful dogs on your channel. It's so interesting to see the differences in personalities even among the same breed. Thank you!
She's so scared, poor baby. She's a brave girl.
Aww she is singing the song of her people. She is beautiful! ❤
Maya already looks so well-groomed! ❤ A sleek and beautiful fox indeed! And such a good girl too 😊
She did so good! I love that Shiba’s tails curl like that. Super cute.
I appreciate how you advocate for your profession
I love watching you brush with your equigroomer
She seemed terrified at first loved Mia's little noises overall she did pretty good looked great
She's adorable! I love the way Shiba's bark!
She's a beautiful dog, has a regal air about her.
She’s a well behaved girl.
I've only been around Shiba Inus once. I was volunteering at a kennel and two of them came in for day care. They both just stood around staring at me like they knew all of my secrets while also looking like they had tons of stories to tell. It was sweet and off-putting at the same time.
She doesn't look like a pure Shiba Inu, but that doesn't matter because of how cute she is
What makes you think that? There's 4 colors red, sesame, tri color and white. Females can be taller than 18 inches. There's also Gendo Inu which are a bit taller. I have 2 Shiba's my female is taller than my male yet both are purebred. I don't see anything that says Maya isn't a purebred. She has sesame color on her back.
@@Babs-Veterans-are-Family she doesn't have a pure shiba inu body build, she looks like a husky with the head of a shiba
@@Babs-Veterans-are-Family It's not just the coloration. Face shape, ear attitude and shape, tail length and shape, incomplete and/or poorly defined urajiro, leg length in relation to body size, etc. etc. I wouldn't say she isn't a shiba, but I know the breed inside and out, and she misses breed standards for showing in a lot of places. *
*This is in no way an endorsement of showing practice, breed standardisation or anything else. It's just information, so no need to @ me telling me I'm a dog elitist or something. I own a pure bred shiba, and he wouldn't win prizes because he's too big across the shoulders.
She's just not overweight lol.
Probably bred for pet with little consideration to comformation
Her little shakey legs just imply she's nervous. I never once thought she was gonna bite. Poor little angel was scared but was a very good girl!
Poor Maya was scared but she acted like a lovely lady.
I feel like she can't tell if she is enjoying the dryer or hating it! Very well behaved doggo
Yeah sounds like Maya was not keen on getting dried at all...she started tuning up @2:45 when you began the towel dry! Sounds like me watching the Conjuring! 😂♥🐶👏
HER EARS in the beginning omg such a sweetie 😢 ❤ so scared and brave
She came in with pointy ears which then remained flat throughout the whole groom only to come back to life at the end 🥰
Maya was *such* a good girl.
As for Lupa? Oh little baby puppy, life is *so* tough and awful didn't it? 😉😊
I know you're not allowed to play and it's *the worst* ! 😂
Great job Vanessa, Maya looks amazing and I love seeing how much fur you got off of her, I hope she's more comfortable now.
There is actually a German dog breed called Harzer Fuchs, that look very much like foxes, but are much calmer in temperament, since they were breed as hearding dogs. They are very rare to see and I myself have only seen one, but I recommend looking up pictures, because they are extemely adorable.
Jellybean cologne…I love it! What a cutie pie!🫶🏻🐾
Poor baby 😭 Just wanna hug her and tell her it's okay.
She was really scared, but she held it together. Probably the best behaved Shiba I've ever seen.
Maya is such a gem! She deserves all the treats for how incredible she was. Also, Luppa (sorry if I misspelled her name) might be part husky 🤣
Omgosh, she's so cute! She does look like a fox which is a bonus.
What an elegant dog ❤
I'm convinced these dogs know they will be on camera, and are on their best behavior
We had a pair of Shibas in the past (boy and girl). I agree that the boys seem much more the drama queen. When we bathed him at home, he would scream and shriek through the entire process. We were worried that our neighbors thought we were murdering children or something! Our girl was super quiet with just some shaking. Not a peep. She was definitely the tougher of the two.
Such an incredibly beautiful pup.!
Her ears are glorious. They point forwards like a bulls horns
