I find that with a aggressive fan curve package temps stay under 65, but edge temp rises into the high 80s. when the clocks are slower, the package temp only drops about 5 degrees but the edge temps come back to within a few degrees of the package.
Run mine at 2000mhz 1.1v no problem. Matches my old 5700xt with much better temps. Got a reference card for about 20% less than cheapest 5700xt I could find and it matches my reference 5700xt benchmarks from the card I used to have. Not a terrible deal.

The 5700 doesn't make as much noise and heat and I got the 5700 to play maxed 1080p 144hz anyways so I really don't need the extra performance of the XT

Personally I think it's the architecture itself, RDNA architecture is rather new and the drivers right now for it are very immature, maybe after new games get updated and designed according to the instruction sets of RDNA, the performance gains will be something substantial, AMD should really focus on driver maturation, cause right now the only thing the driver does is recognise the GPU to Windows 10...
So, aftermarket 5700 might not be worth it!? I don´t think AMD gave the brands total freedom with the 5700´s like they did with XT's, so the 5700's might not be worth it.
The big difference I have found when looking at x*70 boards the last few days has been regarding PCIe slots configurations. A want an ATX board because I want to be able to install two GPU and a Elgato 4K60 capture card. This mean search for a board that had 3 x16 physical slots, but then I had make sure how the wired. I thought I had found a winner in a b450 board, but it turned out the second x16 slot was actually only x4 when two cards were install, then ruled out 2 x470 boards for having the same issue.
Would be good, but where are aftermarket models? It suppose to be already many of them out.. I think aftermarket models can't be at current price because better cooling and backplate will cost at least 50$+ ..and amd already reduced price on launch due to rtx super..will see.

Why is everybody praising this practise of "unlocking your hardware" when it should be there free by amd themselves? Why giving us 2 variants of the same card when the later can be achieved by hw limiting the first? Its not like it's a different chip, nor the perf gap is huuuge between them The way i see it we are stuck with an absolute greedy competitor milking a dead cow 3 years now because of no competition in the high end and a vfm company who is just making a comeback but is suffering from a pricing identity crysis
It's the registry how many files/ drivers there is so he said he had 7 so he might have had 7 different drivers loaded into the computer for different GPU's before or just updates. If you've ever uninstalled a program and some of it is still showing in your programs/apps Windows 10 and won't uninstall. It's because not all of it was uninstalled from the registry. That's why he was using the other program to clean the registry out. You have to be careful messing with the registry in the computer as he said you could brick your card. Expensive paper weight lol

Will you please make a gaming video on : 3840 x 2160 vs 4096x2160. on a 40" monitor ETC. :)
One is 16:9 and one is 17:9.. Might not work out.
Why don't you just flash you bios to the 5700xt bios
great video
should i get a x570 for 160$ or 200$ x570 (same motherboard)
if its the same exact motherboard why not go for the cheaper one
The big difference I have found when looking at x*70 boards the last few days has been regarding PCIe slots configurations.
A want an ATX board because I want to be able to install two GPU and a Elgato 4K60 capture card. This mean search for a board that had 3 x16 physical slots, but then I had make sure how the wired.
I thought I had found a winner in a b450 board, but it turned out the second x16 slot was actually only x4 when two cards were install, then ruled out 2 x470 boards for having the same issue.
So, not a good idea right now basically
Toms Hardware Germany was closed down this year. Igors Lab is Igors Lab and has nothing to do with Toms Hardware.
The camera is shaking the whole video :/
ANNDDD theeeeeennnnnnnnnnnn!?!! good job
rx 5700K?
pls redo this with 3rd party that doesnt have shit cooling
Got my EK waterblock.
in conclusion: aftermarket 5700xt
Yeah pretty much lmao
Would be good, but where are aftermarket models? It suppose to be already many of them out.. I think aftermarket models can't be at current price because better cooling and backplate will cost at least 50$+ ..and amd already reduced price on launch due to rtx super..will see.
james bond
1) raijintek Morpheus is
2) Arctic Accelero Xtreme IV (or the III for ITX cases or large air coolers)
Nice video
Good job, Roll Tide
My Asus 5700 referenz .. 2070mhz CORE, 930mhz MEM.. results SAME like XT withouth problem.. why not to buy?!?! ..50eu cheaper and better than 2060 super..you can buy Arctic FR IV 50euro and you dosnt have temeperatur problems, maybe just better overclocking potential. Have on my gtx1070, cooler is worth money. Not loud, but real Cold.
Go Gators!
It is kinda hilarious that ppl wanna OC the card that already can heat the room completely ^^ But hey, solve the noise-problem of 5700xt by putting it into another room w 10m HDMI / usb-cable :)
People who know the Infinity Fabric (ryzen users) should know the liability of your comment ^^#
I 100% blame AMD for this horrible reference cooler design, to cool the current hungry IF
Veii one of AMD card selling points has been their value in workstations. Blower cards are advantageous in multi-gpu configurations, and if the revenue design doesn’t have them, no AIB will make a reference design (the gtx 1070 Katana being the exception)
YES
auto-focus is all over the place :/ Interesting topic though
whats the download link for overclocking the gpu to 2ghz (2000mhz)
Overclocking on a blower style fan... Even on stock it reaches max temperature, so whats the point on overclocking.
What about xt waiting for that video
Or you just got a really bad luck on the silicon lottery
Which pc case is that
I've been able to achieve 2035Mhz with 955mem. I think you just a bad card.
overclocking a xt ?
Those wallets are nice but not for the price
please build a budged pc
make it budge?
Exde
You need a better cooler fitted
No your air results wont match igors water....
wait my msi 5700 only has an 8pin????? no 8pin and 6pin
where did you buy the 5700?
its still way out of my price range i have a 1060 3gb trying to pick up a cheap used 1070 not easy in ireland
Why not look for a 580 8GB? Not cheap? It should be a heft performance bump from the higher VRAM and generally being stronger than a 1060.
@@johnbuscher Because Pascal card prices are dropping like a stone.
Not that I'm discrediting the RX 580. It's a bad bitch in it's own right.
revisit?
igot 5700xt and i can only go
50
2150
950
could you review the ryzen 5 3400G?
USING MSI AFTERBURNER LMAO
Excuse me for disturbing the good vibe here, but am i the only one who sees the locked performance accompanied by bad thermal decipation components and bad price point as an absolute scamish move by AMD? When they meet more than enough margins to give us an actual complete product performing at it's max potential? Why is everybody praising this practise of "unlocking your hardware" when it should be there free by amd themselves? Why giving us 2 variants of the same card when the later can be achieved by hw limiting the first? Its not like it's a different chip, nor the perf gap is huuuge between them
The way i see it we are stuck with an absolute greedy competitor milking a dead cow 3 years now because of no competition in the high end and a vfm company who is just making a comeback but is suffering from a pricing identity crysis
what is that 0000 ?
It's the registry how many files/ drivers there is so he said he had 7 so he might have had 7 different drivers loaded into the computer for different GPU's before or just updates. If you've ever uninstalled a program and some of it is still showing in your programs/apps Windows 10 and won't uninstall. It's because not all of it was uninstalled from the registry. That's why he was using the other program to clean the registry out. You have to be careful messing with the registry in the computer as he said you could brick your card. Expensive paper weight lol
This card sucks ass, just wait for third party cards next month instead. Youre only saving money cause amd took away the backplate and 1 fan. Also amd saying that the price fixing was a trap for nvidia is like falling down a flight of stairs and saying that you were meant to do it. Any CEO is going to say that was their plan all along to keep investors happy
Why Nobody of the "Big" ytubers are doing Videos about it? This Card is doomed to die early!
It's not doomed when it beats the Nvidia cards it's priced against. Microcenter can't keep them in stock. They're selling like hotcakes.
@@johnbuscher Always funny how those fanboys "doom" something ;) It's a great card in the medium-value bracket ... Far from being doomed.
@@johnbuscher ? Wtf do you understand anything? It is doomed bcs it overheat and will Break down. You understand what i mean?
@@markusbraunholz2220 ok? overheating with 60 celsius, and igors card reached 65 celsius with 2.2Ghz?
Markus , people wait for AIB cards - the launch of this card was just bad lol / who wants to speak bad about AMDs tiny flaw = reference design
People wait to actually test it out for the consumers with proper AIB cards
The Sillicon on it's on = the card is 👌
just wait some more :)
Did you just farted at 9:54? :)
That was loud because of the acoustic in the room. :)
I know that I shouldn’t care, and I really don’t care. But it was distracting.
Send it. will it run for ten years only to oc then
Link off
you need to give some voltage and 2ghz core clock
The registry mod is worthless, if you're wanting to do something like this the only way you'll get a noticeable increase, I've seen up to 10%, is to flash the bios to XT bios.
