- I can’t believe I waited so long to try Mousse Gel Mousse!!
I’m thrilled with my results, and of course I wanted to share the entire process with you so you can see exactly how I achieved this look.
Also, I added a quick tip about how I wipe any product off my face as soon as I’m finished styling so I don’t have to worry about that product breaking out my skin.

If I wanna be able to run my fingers through my hair, which product is best? I really don’t care about keeping my hair a 2c, if it falls to a 2b I like that, just don’t want frizz.
And when I get a hard cast, I end up w more frizz where I move so much & flip my part.. just doesn’t look good
I notice you scrunch so much. I was just doing it once or twice in each section. How do you keep from getting frizz or breaking things up? Is it just the water?
When I microplop I end up w frizzy ends w no cast at all. (Having lots of frizz issues & hair looking unhealthy since breaking off after a protein treatment)
I’d experiment with some creams! I like Cantu moisturizing curl cream but I don’t use it very often. I also really like Ecoslay orange marmalade which is a bit like a cream/gel hybrid. It does give me a cast but leaves my hair very touchable.
I scrunch quite a bit to encourage my waves and to distribute products evenly. I add water as needed to help my clumps stay together :)
You can try adding a bit more product after microplopping to keep the ends from getting too frizzy, but also make sure that you’re microplopping gently and carefully so as to not break up clumps and cause frizz

When I add my leave in (knot today) my hair gets stringy if I use a brush. Do you think my hair doesn’t like this leave in?? I can’t do protein. Or aloe. Bout to go to silicone bc non silicone seems to be damaging my once healthy hair ☹️
It might not like the leave in, but it also could be that you just need to add some more water. I’d try that first!
I really like the giovanni hard hold gel. I just used it this morning on top of Zotos bouncy curl cream. Like the results. I don't have luck with mousses and I don't like the petroleum in them, so unless I can find a foam that I like, I won't be using it. Have you tried any foams that you like?

Why is it better to layer instead of mixing gel and mousse together?
I haven’t tried mixing gel and mousse together- I’m not sure how well that would work with the very different consistencies. Layering them allows the hair to benefit from the individual purposes of each product, and it’s easy! :)

How often do you clarify?
I try to clarify about every 3 weeks, depending on how my hair and scalp feel :)

Why do you use mousse gel mousse? Why not gel then mousse or vice versa? Are there benefits from two mousse applications?
Mousse before the gel helps enhance my waves, gel adds hold and frizz control, then finishing with mousse boosts the volume. I don’t do this all the time though, just showcasing the technique :)
