    I'm with you that I don't like my hair to feel producty after styling. I've tried the Denman brush and for me it is a whole lot of effort with not great results. I always look forward to your videos and honesty!

    I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like the hard hold gel because it made my hair feel producty... I'm not a fan of the feeling either. I'd never considered that that was intentional though. But I could see it.

      Thanks! Yes I did! My black frame ones broke. These new ones are blue light blocking, which is why they reflect purple :)

    I'm with you on this. Mine weren't sticky or tacky, but definitely very "Founding Father Wig" before SOTC and I felt like they kept reverting to that look. The Denman brush is too much effort for me, whether I use the handle or not.
    Two things I know for sure: 1) Practice would make any brush styling process easier and faster. 2) That's just not time I want to invest. I really like keeping things as simple as possible and this just isn't that. I think everyone is comfortable at different places when it comes to time and effort spent and brush styling just isn't for me.

    I have tried using the Denman brush on my 2A hair for over a month with no success. I’ve tried multiple techniques and my hair just doesn’t like it. It definitely isn’t for anyone.
    Thank you for sharing this with us. 😊

    I love how you comment on how your hair feels. I hate a product feel. I use my Denman brush all the time, but all I do is pull the hair away from my head with it with a bit of tension as it moves through the bristles. Scrunch after that and let it be. My hair is similar pattern to yours but it's chin length with lots of layers.

    You totally can get brush styled coils much more easily and with soft curls that hold for days! I have very fine just naturally wavy hair and I (after much much searching) got it down to two products to get soft, lasting coils. I use ecoslay orange marmalade and put it in wet hair and then use the Scrunch It brush, which is literally designed to specifically to coil the hair so there’s no awkward unraveling like with the Denman! It has a pointed tapered end that you just slide the coil off of. My hair still feels soft and not producty (a feeling which I also can’t stand) and I end up with curls that last for days with very minimal refreshing and most of the time I don’t even refresh (refresh consists of putting water on my hands and scrunching, so so easy). My Denman immediately went into storage and I haven’t gotten it back out since I got the Scrunch It brush. I don’t understand why it’s not more popular than the Denman because I found it SO much easier and effective! I’m not a UA-camr but I almost want to make a video for you so you can see how easy and totally doable it is! (And I also did not at all like brush styling until I got the Scrunch It). The maker has video tutorials so you can see how she does it.

    Thank you for doing this video, mistakes and all! I have a denman brush and haven’t really gotten use out of it in this way. Do you have to do this method with fully wet hair? I’ve found on my curl journey that that typically doesn’t work for me and my hair needs to be like half dry when I apply product otherwise it gets really weighed down.

    I was doing this method in the height of the pandemic, but mainly finger coiling. I had the same issue of the clumps coming back together even after I separated them and it looked so piecey. It also made my hair look greasy I think because of the products I was using. I wish I could figure this out better!

    Thank you for sharing your perspective on this! I would have to agree with you on all of it. Btw, I have your hair type, and I hated using the denman brush that way! Too time consuming, and how DO you actually work on that top layer after doing the bottom 😆?! I couldn't get it down, and I'm WAY too lazy to style that way haha.

    I find it impressive that some people are committed enough to brush style their whole head regularly, but it definitely isn't for me. The amount of time required just isn't worth it to me.

    I actually find certain mousses can hold that kind of spiral curl. The cake beauty one is a good one. I've also recently been trying the doux mousse (more of a foam with hold) and my hair has stayed in ringlets and I'm on day 3 hair with no refresh!

    • @JordanFaith
      @JordanFaith  Рік тому +1

      I love the cake mousse! It does hold my hair well, but I think my hair definitely would’ve loosened more with that product if used in this routine.
      I’ve been wanting to try the Doux!

    • @ceystal
      @ceystal Рік тому +2

      @@JordanFaith I've been trying out the doux and so far I really like it! A tip is use it alone. No leave in or cream as it's already fairly moisturizing even for my course hair. And the volume it gives is 10/10!

    I’ve given up on brush styling. My hair looks better when I scrunch and plop, 😉 and I just don’t want to spend the time. Lol I put my denman brush in a box of products that don’t work for me. I will say that we must have similar hair because everything you recommend works for me. I have a lot of products that other wavy influencers use that just didn’t work for me. Lol so thank you for sharing! Right now I’m loving Pineapple Curls Cream, Umberto Gioninni Curl Jelly, and Cake the Curl Whip Mousse. 💖🎀

    • @JordanFaith
      @JordanFaith  Рік тому +1

      Yes I have! I believe I have two videos using that method :)
      It’s pretty, but it does stretch out my hair a bit and if I wanted the style to stay I’d have to use similar products to this video for that grit
