I have to say. The professional nature of these reviews has gotten really good. Looks like you have really found your niche and the videos are really pleasant to watch.
Nice review that mark, one of the more enjoyable ones to watch lately
Just been fitted for the p770 very happy with the numbers and ball flight order went in straight away 👍
Quality content as usual, Mark. The video is just as good as the clubs 😍
Been waiting for this video 👌
Excellent review Mark, like you said totally unbiased, I’ve just been fitted for the P790’s.
Another really good review! Always so helpful 👍
Strongly considering a mix bag with 770s for low irons and mcs for 7 iron to PW. Very helpful info! Still going to have to test them out myself of course and get fitted properly 😀
Ordered full set of P770 3-PW w/ KBS 120 stiff shafts, since I was not quite sure My skills are up to par for the P7MC yet! Hit only the 7 iron of the P770 in fitting booth, but love at first swing. My old 20 year old irons were ping i-3 O-size, so quite a jump. Also, I’m in my mid 40’s, so cannot hurt to have the tech assistance at this point. Funny thing is originally I had ordered P7MB based on looks and I have played blades in my teens, but decided way over ambitious!! Have received only the P770 - 3 iron so far and wow is it balanced. Cannot wait till spring in NY!!
Great video Mark. Had a hit and love the p770 MC.
Thx really like both (looks) will test them this month. Question, what brand/type electric trolley do you use?
My P•770s arrived today, can’t wait to take them out tomorrow!
Tried both. Loved the P7MC on trackman and on course....so easy to hit and shape and great feel /feedback.👍🏽 think there is a new iron making its way into my bag😇
I would play any of them I like the look of them both i already play with the taylormade p790 and they are absolutely amazing irons and I couldn't change them mark
😂😂 loved the outro, as I think I know what marks talking about
Love that TM have really come out with these good looking clubs. All the other jazz aside I'm glad they decided to but their twists and turns behind the face on these boys... LOL
I like the P770. They look outstanding along with P790
Great vid! Thank you.
Waiting for my P770s to arrive. Never really wanted a TM iron before although nearly considered P790. I was surprised by how good they looked at address and how good they felt as well. Can’t wait to game them.
The design of the P7MC reminds me of my 2003 set of Nike Pro Combo Forged irons, which I still play and still love.
I left taylormade a few years ago after 15 years but the MCs might bring me back
played taylormade os irons like 20 years ago something - but their iron range currently is stunning - love the mc and their new blade too
The Mark Crossfield irons are back and they look stunning😎
Lovely looking kit....I can't imagine ever being tempted away from my r9's though. If I ever did change, i'd be looking at Taylormade options first.
I play the Ping i200, and the MC is going on my Santa list as the replacement irons for them.
Playing 8 year TM Cb Forged now. Really am looking with great interest in the P770s og MCs.
Seen couple of views on these and they look really great
Got a set arriving in a few weeks, 4/5 in the P7MC and 6-PW in the P7MB, can’t wait!
Great review MC, does it come with different letters?
Good job I’ve just seen this after ordering a set of P70-MC’s this afternoon 😂 good review Mark
Mark, serious question regarding your combo comment with the 770 being 10 yards longer than the MC. I believe you have said in the past that most handicap golfers 4 & 5 irons usually go around the same distance and is the reason you champion Hybrids to replace the 4, if not the 5 as well. Given your thoughts, don't you think that the 770's in the 4 & 5, being 10 yards longer than the MC, might actually blend them in nicely at the 6 iron. I understand it was probably only a small data set but would be interesting to see what the numbers were on the 4 & 5 irons, now that obviously TM are in love with MC again. 🥰
“They’ve got my initials on it.” Just fell off my chair. Absolutely brilliant!
Nice to see the feud is over & TM have let you help design a new club, when are you going to start using your MC Proto's
Just bought MC can’t wait for them to arrive 👍
IT GOT MY INITIALS ON IT!!! 😂😂😂 TM gibing you some love Mark
I’ve had burner 2.0 then rocketbladz irons and currently using M2 irons which are fabulous
I just love your swing, Mark.
I’ve always thought TM irons looked too busy but these look so much sleeker. Don’t think they will be challenging my t100s for a space in the bag though
It'd be really interesting to see a comparison between three very similarly designed clubs: the P7MC, Bridgestone J40 Cavity, and (my) Mizuno MP-64. They all follow the idea of a muscle cavity with some weight right behind the ball in a triangular shape. I wonder which would come out 'best' in your opinion...
At what yardage/loft do average players distances start to bunch up? Maybe it would work well to go MC to hollow at 6 or 5 iron and just leave the lofts as is to accommodate for that? Have to verify it in a gap test but it seems feasible. Good work as always Mr. Crossfield.
Hi Mark great stuff. I’d be interested in you hitting an old Burner 2.0 Driver and see what the numbers are.
Lovely looking irons Mark. But the price is massive. Love the new Power Caddy by the way
Totally agree with you there bruh they do look very nice 👍
I got my Taylormade P770 4-Aw to day. Im the first person in Norway to get them. The releasen date is 09.04 but i've got the before 😍
Mark can you do a MB and MC review in these please and see what figures you get and see if they would work as a good combo?
the P770s do look amazing from the back
I think Taylormade extended the olive branch to Mark naming their new club the "MC". Really thorough review as usual.
Great review mark, nothing wrong with a trolley😉
The hollow heads tend to fly further. Can you please review PXG 0311T Gen 3 as well which I think is the best of the hollow head design?
I've been lucky enough to hit both the 770 and mc and I definitely prefer the mc in terms of looks and performance. Going for a fitting over the weekend to get dialed in.
Would of loved to get your input on the P7MB Mark.
Hit the 7 irons of both on a launch monitor and got the same(ish) results. 8 yards further and 500 less spin with the P770. Really didn’t expect that much difference.
"I've never played taylormade irons" I'd probably go for the P- 7mc (looks better to me knowing its not Hollow)
How would the P-7MC compare to the Titleist CB?
Would you recommend doing a combo set with the 770 and MC?
I have the original P770 irons and am interested in how they compare to the P7MC and the new P770. They have the look of P7MC with tungsten weighting in the long irons.
M'y initiales, lové it
I hit the 770s against the Mizuno MMCs the other day, the 770s for me were spinning ~1600-2000 lower than the Mizunos or my regular irons (AP2s). I know some people haven't had that problem, but for me i'd be too worried about the really long one with the 770s.
My P7MC 7 thru P (ProjectX LZ 6.0) showed up on my doorstep a week early. They are replacing P760 with Project X Rifle 6.0 shafts. Initial impression, MC has thinner top line and sole than the P760 - reviews that make the MC out to be much more compact than the P760 are overblown. More compact yes, not significantly different to my eye. After 100 balls at the range, they feel solid and I definitely picked up a club length on an average strike. They feel solid! The P760 Rife shafts had a lot of kick that I liked. I don't get that same kick from the LZ shaft but I got the sense I could go after the ball hard and it stays on line. If I had swung the P760 like that I would have pulled it hard left. Very excited to play 18 tomorrow.
Mark you left the camera behind at the end 😉
If I was in the market for irons the P770 would be 1,2 & 3 on my list. Simply stunning. Think my Ping’s owe me a few more years yet though.
I currently play the callaway apex pros. Would the MC be a good comparison to those
Mark, what do the numbers printed on the club mean? 2° for example. Is loft or lie that's 2° up? Thanks
Are these irons adjustable as they have uprightness on the hosels? Or is just what the demo clubs that Mark is using have been made as?
How would you combo these 2? P-6 MC and 5-4 p770
Hey Mark, has a new P770 model come out for 2021? Or is the latest 2020?
When you look at the small market of the Titleist CBs, I think Taylormade should have considered using a hidden Tungsten plug in the toe of the club in the 7,6,5,4,3 irons, like Mizuno MMCs or Titleist TS100s, to make them sellable to a larger market. I played the Taylormade C300 Cavity Backed blades (Tom Lehman clubs) for 20 years and loved them. I'd buy this type of P7MC set with a modern lofted 32 degree 7 iron if it had the tiniest bit of hidden Tungsten help in the longer irons - preferred lofts (47,42,37,32,28,24,21)
Another positive is PW at 46 degrees... on my fit I saw 2yd loss versus my Apex CF19 7i which is 30.5 degree - 2.5 degrees stronger - 163 vs 165... using similar weight shafts. The Apex PW at 43 degrees a real PIA.
"Got my initials on it" oh my lordy me lol
P7 Mark Crossfield (mc). We all made up. Glad for the peace in the golf community
Combo with 790s would seem more way to go. Thoughts Mark?
I wonder if there is a CL version for coach
Great product.....but TM are a pain.
After a bloody brilliant fitting at the Wentworth Performance Lab mine have been ordered. Combo 770 (4&5) MC (6-PW). Really pleased....apart from
TM cocking up the launch. Have to wait til mid October to get the MC’s and mid November for the 770’s. Yes....TM are sending me two orders for one set of irons.
Brilliant product. Shit planning for such a huge launch.
How would you compare the P7MC to the Srixon ZX7 irons?
I’d like to see a comparison between new P770 and old P770 and perhaps P7 MC
Would be good to see what his clubhead speed was with both of the clubs. I mean the average carry distance was 10 yards more - but the average ball speed was 4 mph more. Is that due to higher smash factor on account of the 1 degree of loft difference, or was there any difference in swing speed?
I have the TM tour preferred MB 2014. Still cant see a reason to change
Damit Mark, your confusing the hell outta me! For a guy who is suppose to hate Taylormade, you have alot of great things to say about these irons. Can't wait until your bag is full of these irons. Thanks for your honest OPINIONS on clubs, I've learned a ton watching your vids over the years. Keep up the good fight between advertising and just good equipment.
To truly maximize ball speed across the face and test the advantages of the speed pocket, you must use the TP5 ball with it’s xl low compression core that increases launch angle and reduces drag. 😉
Do you think these two clubs would be a good fit to do a split set? with the 770's in the longer irons and the mc's in the shorter ones
oh nvm he says that at the end haha
What handicap would you recommend for each one?
Really like the p770 want to game them but the would not be right for my high handy cap wish all irons looked like these
I think I would go for the p770 for 7.8.9 and the p7mc 4.5.6.give you a bit more help with the lower clubs..and add the 3 driving iron..what a set
Crossfield joins TM staff !
Beautiful clubs. I think that P770 looks like my 2014 Tour Preferred blades but should be spring faced from the speed goo. I'd chose the Mc 3-6 and the mb in 7-pw combo set. I'll leave the speed goo clubs until I swing slower and don't want to give up yardage
Ordered a set of MC 4-pw. Its brilliant ;)
Did you receive your set yet? Still waiting on mine
@@alohaukulele1 Received in mid November.
Is the P7MC a step up from Titleist 718 AP2. If looking for more forgiveness would the 770 provide this?
Mark. Can you review Arias golf zero offset irons?
The MC isn’t going to be out for fitting until April in the United States is what my fitter told me. The 770 is out now though. Just thought that was strange
I prefer the mc. Reminds me of the mizuno cut muscle cavities. Also the lofts are correct, not weaker, not more traditional, correct.
Did you check the lofts yourself? Very surprising numbers from the indoor data
I have the P770 4-PW but the more I use them, the more I notice that the sweetspot is a tad higher up and when you button them, they go long. Easy 20 yard front to back on a quarter inch strike difference. Probably pick up a used set of MCs and combo them.
Ive an ex demo 7 iron p7mc and a ex demo p770 7 iron 2019 model ...the best total I've got on p770 is 210 the best on p7mc is 190 .. the p770 absolutely flies if you connect. More precision needed on p7mc..haven't decided yet which I'll go for, just yet. P770 probably slightly favourite currently. But p7mc going to be better at shaping. Probably don't need distance so will test on course a bit more. I carry them both all the time.
Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any weirder, Is the TM war over!!! 😄 To me the MC kind of reminds me of the MP18Sc is it similar in feel?
What’s the red/blue marks on the hosel about?
There both nice but if I had to choose it would have to be the Mizuno 921 tour/ forged .
I would probably play the MC irons as well. Less intimidating than the full on blade I guess.
As always, Mark is spot on... I tested both indoors, the 770 was an immediate winner in 3 balls. I know the MC would work after zeroing in on the setup, but the 770 with Nippon Modus 120 matched up perfectly with my PSI Tour that I'm playing now.
I’ve totally bought into the idea of launch help below the 7 iron.
My big question about the 770 would be forgiveness on toe strikes. They look fantastic.
I got fitted today and went with the 770 for the mishits.....near NO difference. Crazy.
That’s good to know. I play Hot Metal Pro from a few years back but I’ve always been interested in this line. HMP is pretty forgiving but I like the potential of the hollow/ foam concept. Thanks for the feedback.
Who would have thought Taylor made would have done an MC iron. Has hell frozen over?
What’s the story behind the callaway, The coach that changed the ball.
The clubs look great too.
