For most people , the way you hit your 7 iron will dictate the way your 4 iron will be hit …. Real fitting/fitter with the numbers on the fitting system makes it close to perfect
Well, in Canada, it takes months to years to get a car because of the chip shortages. I ungraded my 2018 Leaf to 2023 Leaf Plus - it toke me 8 months to get the car, and I was the first on the list in Ontario last June. They are no electric or even ICE cars on lots. My friend is getting a Corolla hybrid with a predicted 2.5-year wait. I purchased my 2018 Leaf 2 years ago for 26K and got a 28.5K trade-in. It should change for good in 2 or 3 years when all new prefab chip facilities get going in the US.
@@trottiegolf thank you for sparing a moment to reply. Can I ask one more question don’t laugh as it may be stupid. I currently game the zx5’s and it hits the numbers for me with the PW AT 44 so it would make sense that if I was to split set that the 770’s were 2 degrees stronger. With the fitting kit giving you the option to strengthen the lofts does this affect the irons the same way it affects a wedge removing bounce and turf interaction.
@@stuartmacdonald305 yes it does & that's a good question. Just watch peak heights and roll out, if you want to go deeper then watch spin and launch too. All explained in the details of this vid.
@@trottiegolf so sounds like the bounce is the same just a slightly different grind and width on the mc vs last years mc? The sole width is def different than last years mc in the shorter irons
Yes Trotti they are great looking irons; YET the question is: does the player gain any new performance/game imporvent outside "the new look." As one of the best fitters in the game, for the vast majority of us, it takes us a few years to dialed our conforms with our irons and its performance...reasonably well. In addition, lets not over look the cost...not just in the equipment but other untangle value.
Great video as always. Having a fitting booked for January, I’m coming from RSI 2’s so well due for an upgrade. Do you think an 8 hcp can handle a combo set with MB’s for higher irons? Or maybe a 770/MC set. Obviously will come down to feel once I hit them, but would love to know if you think there’s a “minimum cap” to play MB’s well? Keep the comparisons coming!!
Yes but is that wise? All depends on your mishits. I think 8i down is easily done but I’d go off your stats and what your approach play looks like from that iron down. Even if you go 770/MC it’s always good to know your stats first
All depends on your peak height. HD if you need the height otherwise you can go with Stealth. Always try before you buy if you're having those types of questions.
Great looking irons. I play and love the P760 irons so would be interested to know if new P760 irons are coming out. If not how comparable would’ve the P770 irons be.
I think p770 replaced p760. Very similar construction. Speed foam in the long irons is similar. Tungsten weight low in the face is new to increase launch.
All depends on your ball flight and how much you spin it. Low Spin guy then weaken the 770 but that depends on how high you launch them. Then is you want to take spin off your MC's then strengthen them but you can see how this isn't a direct answer as it's PLYR dependent.
Never played TaylorMade irons and looking to possibly put them in. Currently playing JPX919 Forged which I hit well (moving out of them for other reasons) which TM irons are in that bracket and should I be looking at?
more spin, steeper land angles potentially as a result of the spin, distance control a touch tighter & easier to shot shape. Turf interaction different too
I am a Taylormade junkie and have all 4 sets of the current series irons . I bought the p790's first and enjoyed them but didn't feel I could work the ball the way I wanted to or use around the greens as accurate either. I am playing a mixed bag of P770's 4-6 and P7MC's 6-9 I have used two 6 irons to bridge the distance gap between the sets, The MC"s are tremendous around the greens and you can work them high-low-right - or left. Amazing irons with about a club shorter per iron. The p770's are great too the are consistent but do not feel as good around the greens. I also have a set of p7MB's and have played well with them but although they are great around the greens they are not reliable for me to hit well. I am a five handicapper who loves to mix and match clubs.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to adjust the loft and lie of the last 2020 P7MCs? They are forged which would mean that they should be bendable, however sometimes it’s not possible for various reasons. Thanks!
The problem with going for a fitting is we get to try a 7 iron . They never have a 4 iron to try
A good fitter will factor that in

Are you in the UK aye? If you are near Scotland there's one called SGG Scott Gourley Golf, does fitting for 4 6 8 pw for that very reason.
This
A fitter uses 7 iron numbers to guess what you would hit your 4 iron like. I good fitter would have a 4 iron for you to try.
Well done Chris I love the look of the mb s 👏 👌
This new irons are gorgeous! I may need to upgrade. I’d probably play p770 3-pw. You rock!

Those MBs look so good, gonna have to book a fitting to try them for fun
Never mind the irons get the stealth 2 tested for us. Saw the pictures on GolfWRX. Looks good
Wow. Thanks.
I see myself moving from current Mizuno split set into a TM MC and MB split set, 4-6MC | 7-PW MB
Visually alone! Gotta test em soon 👌
Great content. Still happy with my p770 2021😊
How easy would it be to split the p770 short irons to p790 long irons
Yea you can do this, just check your gapping

Anyway you could post the bounce specs of the 2023 mc 4-p? The soles have obviously changed slightly can’t find the info anywhere on the new ones.
I'll look into that.... I know the MB's are different but I believe the MC's are the same

hey trottie, so you're doing 3i 770, and then 4-pw MB?
Still testing but leaning towards 4- pw MC at the moment
Beautiful irons

Which combo set do you think is better? P770/p7mc or t200/t100s?
Obv I like the TM option, to be fair I don’t know much about the other set up

Are you thinking mbs in the lower end of the bag or mcs
I'm still testing. At time of making this vid I was thinking MB's..... not necessarily still in that mindset
I want to combo a set 770 & 7MC 4-5-6-7 in 770 8-9-P in 7MC should weaken 770 or strengthen the 7MC?

Do you do fitting yourself chris?? I currently play 4,5 iron in mc and 6-pw in mb in project x 7.0, Would be amazing if you could do my next fitting?
Not currently unless it's training sessions or Tour. Not to say that won't change though
The problem I have with my P7-MB's is exactly the same problem you have Trottie... 7 iron... 160...
Depends on the flight you want, i can go 160 or 185 with 7i that’s perfect if you just knock the spin off
I make the move in a heart beat if you were building the set. Following Retail customer specs are not the best thing TM does well.

Am I the only one who is a little shocked by how thick the top line is across the entire TM lineup, even on the P7MB/MC?
What is the set going to look like

i cant decided between the p770s and the p7MCs...

Hey carry distance that’s what everyone should Concentrate on and then roll too much roll not enough control
I dont see the point of using the blades over the mc. The mc do everything the blades do and more.
trottie. nobody has access to this
