    Great Video Rick!! Beautiful clubs from Taylormade this year!! I really appreciate, weather you intend to or not, how you encourage us to take pride and ego out of the equation when selecting clubs. I would love to believe I could become good enough to hit those clubs but hearing from you about a “blade” encourages me to get fitted and select the right clubs for my handicap and then go from there. Thx as always for your unique approach to this channel! Don’t change!! Love it!! Cheers!!

    The Nike Vr pro blades were the best irons I’ve ever played. The grooves are balding but blades are amazing. I’ve gotten so much better because of them. I was a +0.4 before rupturing my Achilles in March. I will never go away from pure blade irons.

      I think it's about knowing where your miss hits come from. I miss left all the time because of my swing path and the fact I fade the ball, but I hit the middle of the club face mostly all the time. I switched from GI irons to a split set of Blueprint for 7-8-9-PW and i210 for 5-6. Top of the bag is hybrids and FW. I love my blades because of the feedback and the precision. I've corrected some swing path issues and more often than not, I can control the fade or add a little bit of a draw, which I couldn't do very well with chunky clubs. If your misses come from hitting the face all over the place and shanking the ball, fat and thin all the time, then no, blades are not for you.

    • @mylesd6099

    I find it so interesting the difference in opinion on blades. I’m off 12 and looking down at my MB’s makes me feel so confident and laser focused. I can’t get lazy and I’m forced to swing it better. Before the mb iron I was -18-20. Not to mention a bad shot usually drops short in in bounds. Instead of hot face taking it full distance OB. There usually a lot more course short of target than there is long lol. I’d recommend a cheap second hand set of MB’s to practice with to anyone

I believe the beautiful Taylormade blades in this video are for those who are skilled enough to score with them; or, for those golfers like me who enjoy the thrill of shaping shots and the challenge of striking the ball purely without too much assistance of engineering maybe even more than simply scoring as low as possible. No kidding. It's 6pm and it's 105F(41C) right now. Gonna be 90F(32C) by 10am tomorrow morning. The only good things about golfing in Northern California during the summer? There's nobody on the course and the ground is so hard you get an extra 30 yards of roll.

    I always hear that these clubs are for the pro's.i'm not at all a good player and I know other clubs would or could be better for me. But I rather have that insane good feeling when I hit the ball well and be punished when I don't. the feeling when you hit it well is just so good. I know it's personal preference of course. Can anybody relate?

      So I’m a very poor golfer and I’m wondering: wouldn’t it just make sense to just play with clubs like that right off the bat, forcing you to work on your precision from the get go instead of picking up poor habits with forgiving clubs?

    No such thing as being "good enough" for blades. Plenty of tour pros, the best iron strikers on the planet, play CB's. Likewise blades can teach amateurs a lot about ball-striking and are better for your game long term for that reason. I started playing blades 6 months ago when I was a 6 handicap. I've since come down to a 1. I love striking blades and the miss-hits teach me so much. I also don't see much drop-off in distance or accuracy on most miss-hits despite what all the GI iron marketing says.

      cant agree more. I started playing a 710 MB this year and my handicap went from an 8 to a 4, ball striking capability is better than ever and like you mentioned the feedback you get is so beneficial to improving your game. I have never been able to shape shots and control the ball like this before.

    • @sean9820
      @sean9820 2 роки тому

      Fully agree. 20+ here and recently bought a used set of 712 MB's. After three range trips I am absolutely in love. I get chills when I flush it, such a rewarding feel. When I don't I know why. I am certain these will make me a better player. And they look so incredible to boot.

      I hate when they rate irons by handicap.
      If i'm shooting 100 because i'm taking 54 putts a round and am shit off the tee how does that translate into not being able to hit irons?
      I can hit an iron absolutely pure, ball-first then divot but i'm off 22. I'm off 22 because all my second shots are out of the rough, i take at least 2-3 drops per round, i can't get out of bunkers, and i 3-putt every single hole.
      I have Mizuno MP-33's and can hit them fine.

      Paying the price for errors in setup or swing is how blades make you improve your game, or go running back to the high-tech stuff. I love blades, but then I started when folks were still hitting wooden woods and all graphite felt like a noodle. Tour blades just don't put up with any nonsense. Enjoy.

      Why would you be scared? Do you ever hit the center of your current set? Really there's no reason why you can't hit the center of blades? They might be a little less forgiving, but its not like hitting 50 year old blades mate...

    • @bitchplz
      @bitchplz 3 роки тому +3

      The brands send him clubs to test and review (its good marketing for them). And they definitely pay him for it so if that means he keep the clubs or not, Idk, but probably sometimes yes, if he likes them.

    • @emkayusa
      @emkayusa 3 роки тому

      They loan him the clubs, he has to send them back. If he wants to keep them I don’t know how that would work, he would likely not keep or buy a set of demo clubs though, I would guess he would find the clubs he likes, then get fitted for them.
