Hi Gents, I have been following many of your reviews on Irons and today I finally decided on the.... P 790s! Much of your reviews/ insights & data came to the ‘fore’ (sorry!) but it the end I felt, all things considered, I can grow my game with the 790s while feeling I am not hoping /depending on perfect swings every time. Again recalling your inputs I have made some minor tweaks and now cannot wait to take delivery and play. Sincere thanks and come Xmas I hope a Driver is next on my list.... THANK YOU

I loved my p760s but traded them in as I was losing a little distance given my age and swing - mid 60s. Thought the nicest feel irons I have owned. Seems the p770 may be the ideal mix perhaps with an mc at the top end to give you what the 760 did but without losing as much distance. Currently game the apex cf19 and the irons I loved but out of price range is the pxg gen 3. Keen to test out this combo sometime in the autumn

If you're playing the P790 already Andrew, you would absolutely be the target golfer for the P770.
If you struggle with distance and spin control in the short irons with the P790, a combo set of P770 and P7MC might well be a great solution.

You can be a decent iron player but be a bad chipper or poor driver and hence the reason your handicap is higher than it should be. If you buy new clubs every 5 years, taking real advantage of the new technology, they’re not cheap but neither expensive as it could seem.
If you want to change equipment every year, you can buy second handed of the year before, from those who like having always the latest gear, or choose some of those brands that don’t invest much in sponsoring the top players or in advertising (ben hogan, for instance).
If you want to spend even less, you can find something as 2/3 years old clubs, that can still perform well.
Technology isn’t cheap, but there’s room for every pocket.
